  I just received a Portege 7200 with docking station series. The clip that attaches to the main unit screen is broken and the screen doesn't seem to work. While I can deal with the broken pliers, I was wondering if this will affect why the screen is not working? I only see an image very very dark.   I gave you a link to the glass and the digitizer. Before buying, I'd find a cell phone repair shop. Go and ask, hypothetically, if you brought in the laptop and the part that they could install it? Get a quote for the work only and work and part. Don't tell them how much you have to pay for the part. I check with a couple of them and let them know that you are taking submissions. They usually just get a quid for a mobile phone repair and can charge you more that they usually get. I would explain it this way. Ask for references, too. Should be a win-win, if all goes well.

  Can someone tell how to swith the RGB video using the keyboard so I can then display the image on a TV?
  Also, is there a way to put a blank dvd in the drive and a command to copy the contents of comps on it via the keyboard?

  Have tried to connect the rgb then start the machine and also by pressing FN + Ff5, no response, although it seems to work very well, out of the screen!

  If you want to connect your laptop to the TV I recommend to use the S-video cable. When connected using the FN + F5 combination and switch to the TV only. Also, be sure that the S-video port is correctly enabled on the TV.

  Sorry, but can you tell me what is the problem with the TouchPad? Why you want to use the keyboard only? There are just screen problem?
