I decided to run a OneCare antivirus scan. I get a message that it can't open, but if I reboot it can fix. I restart again. No luck. I'm at my wits end, and if someone could help please my computer illiterate self, I would appreciate it!

  Thanks a lot for taking the time and effort to help me. I'm very grateful for that. The thing that worked for me tried a soft reset by pressing the power button and volume buttons, and then restore to the factory settings.
