Screen resolution of Windows 7 on a netbook?

I installed OS in my netbook Windows XP in Windows 7 However, now my screen resolution is too low. It was nice when you use XP but now Windows 7 won't let me change my screen what resolution beyond 800 x 600.

It wasn't a problem when I used XP so I would like to know if there is anything I can do to get back to my old screen resolution which was fine as it was?

Thank you

    Hello AhmedKhateeb,

You will not be able to use Windows applications if you can not get a resolution of at least 1024 x 768. This requirement will not be changed. Many netbooks do not have a resolution of 1024 x 768.

See Building Windows 8 Blog about this requirement.

  • Screen resolution problems (Windows 10)

I downloaded the latest trial 9 Captivate for Windows 10 and screen resolution problems. Basically, making the software unusable. A lot of screens and dialog boxes seems larger than the current window, they are in, making the right and downstairs parts invisible window (usually, this is where the 'OK' and 'Cancel' buttons for example).

I'm Captivate on a laptop running 64-bit Windows 10 (Sony Vaio with an NVidia GT 640 M map graphic with the latest drivers)

Does anyone know how to fix this? Here are some examples:

    captivate1.PNG

    captivate2.PNG

    captivate4.PNG

    No retina.

What is the size of the police on? Win10, it is often larger than 100%, which is not really necessary for your resolution, but that's a retina display. I am using Captivate on Win10, but Surface Pro and laptop have a retina display.

  • Fusion 6, retina and screen resolution - can I turn off 'auto fit '?

    Howdy all,

I upgraded my Fusion 6.0 today and I am EXTREMELY happy about the changes to the view model in its new version! Finally, I can run Windows 7 / 2008 in a higher resolution than 1440 without the horrible fuzzy mess.

Here's what I did to get my display work:

    1. I enabled "use full resolution for the Retina display" in the display of my Windows virtual machine settings.

    2. I have disabled "Automatically adjust resolution size in Windows" (for stop the VMWare tools to adjust my graduation of Windows display)

    3. manually configured Windows scaling to 100%

    4. changed my screen resolution of Windows in a very convenient even 1920 x 1200 or 1680 x 1050.

The only problem I encountered is that VMWare tools automatically resize my display 2880 x 1800 and every time I have start the virtual machine, or switch from full-screen to windowed mode and back. In VMWare Workstation I remember to have an option to disable "automatically adjust invited" to stop instructing the prompt to change the resolutions of VMWare.

Y at - it such an option to disable the automatic adjustment of the resolution in VMWare Fusion perhaps?

    Thank you!

pref.autoFitGuestToWindow = "FALSE" that mentioned WoodyZ disables auto worthy of the single window mode.

pref.autoFitFullScreen = "stretchGuestToHost" should disable the auto adjustment for mode full screen as well.

Note that this is perhaps not ideal when you are using multiple monitors in the virtual machine, because the merger is expected generally that the layout of monitor to match between the host and the VM.
