SCREEN WHITE AFTER TURNING MY HP WITH A 3.2 GHZ AMD PROCESSOR

only a white screen when I turn on my hp with win xp home and a 3.2 giga hertz processor.  I think it might be a loss of video and I need to install a good video card in one of the pci slots.  However, I know someone must have experience this problem.  Let me know where to start.  I have a friend with additional video cards, so I can try that as a solution.  does take a full win xp reinstall.  What do you think.  e mail me.

Who can help me to WHO:

Sorry for fast hiking, misspellings, it's late and I do not use my normal computer to this problem I have.

I am currently sympthym to start the black screen with a white cursor (furniture, put in construction in the middle) with my laptop Dell Studio 15 (model 1537) that running Vista Ultimate 64 bit SP2.  He started tonight after repeatively, I tried to restore to a date prior to the System Restore tool.  I wanted to get back to Monday due to some software installations.  However, each attempt to restore failed and then after the 3rd or 4th attempt, when I tried to restart, I was faced with a window very long stop, and I was impacient and pressed and held the power button to stop it.  Subsequent starts, I've known this problem with no solution having been found for the moment.

I tried several things at first, such that I tried Ctrl-alt-del, control-shift-esc, blindly connect with my fingerprint.  I tried windows key combos, but no luck.  Still stuck with screen black mouse cursor

I have my vista ultimate 64 bit installation disc, and I started with the dvd and tried to fix it.  Automatic repair tool says he finds a problem with my start and had a difficulty to which I applied and rebooted.  But it did not work.

Then, I tried to boot from the dvd again and did the repair option again, this time, Autostart reparir tool see nothing wrong with my start and I tried a system restore, but alas, it failed after having worked for a bit.  Telling something about restoration being corrupted.  I tried command prompt (X:\Source) and make chkdsk c: /p (which btw, implies / f as well) and it found some errors and repaired them or what not was wrong to write to newspapers, even if and then after long waiting, returns to the c: prompt.  No effect.

On subsquent dvd boots, I tried the option to command line renaming a "Logs" directory and create a directory "Logs" empty (which was mentioned in some research online and even in a few posts here), but that has not solved the problem for me either.

Dvd later boots, I have tried regedit solution method, where you will load a SYSTEM key and set some sort of AUTHORITY NT set... but when I checked key, she was already the correct setting.

Then I learned that I could press the "Shift" key repeatedly while mode cursor screen black/white/and try the propmpt for keys pop-up to sticky.  But he said no 'link' as many instructions in this message box.  When I click 'Yes' to sticky keys, nothing is displayed and the pop-up closes.  Ditto for the 'no '.  There is no mention of accessibility settings.

I tried all modes of security, but just a white cursor plu experience.  I have tried to use "last known configuration', 'debug mode', 'start logging mode', mode"disable driver signing"and again, the same thing, the cursor of the black and white screen.  I'm really at my wit's end, and I don't want REALLY to re - install everything (operating system, programs, settings, etc.) ... I did not back upward, and I use this machine without problem for more than a year.

I remember once XP has a "repair install" mode which was really obvious to end users, since it looked almost identical to a clean install.  I have also heard (but can't really confirm) Vista has no such a fashion, that, by clicking on install, he repaired to the simular OS to XP disks how would repair their facilities.  I can't risk my data/programs/settings for accidental clean installation.  Help, please!

    Sincerely,
    Robert Eckman

According to me, put it back in place, is the only solution to your problem!

  • Yoga 14 700 screen white when turned on

When I turn on the computer, I see the Lenovo logo. After that, the screen turns off but the backlight is always on. Everything on the computer still works except the screen. I tried to connect to an external monitor and a projector, but they both do not detect the computer. My model is the i7 and nvidia graphics. That this has something to do with faulty nvidia drivers?

Looks like a problem with Windows Me. In fact, it can be also a Nvidia driver problem. I would say OneKey recovery to solve the problem. To do this, hold down the key of Lenovo OneKey recovery on your computer. Here is some information about the OneKey recovery, alias Novo button button. https://support.Lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht062552

  • Pavilion HP P7 - 1000: screen white when turned on

When the PC is turned on the monitor responds with a green power light, but remains empty, the PC power light turns on and stays on and the HARD drive light comes on and then disappears. Mouse and keyboard do not respond at this stage. Fans are market HDD is running more DVD ROM lights up when it is started. I tried different hard drives and if you start without a HARD drive there still a blank screen. I also replaced monitor, keyboard, mouse. The real kicker is that from time to time after a lot of power downs and restarts it will boot to the BIOS and load the MBR and everything will be fine. I see that no error it connects.  Any ideas would be apresiated. Thank you!

I think I got it. The person who is the owner of the PC, said that one of the two USB ports was damaged so I unplugged the two front holes in the motherboard and it works very well and it seems to be faster starting now as well. I must say that this one had me stumped good.

  • Windows Vista no longer starts after re-installation (cursor black screen, white after installation)

A few days ago I decided that I wanted to start my Dell Inspiron 1720, back to square one. I knew that there are a few options, so I tried to restore. I realized it let me only a month back in time and my computer was slow for about a year now. I looked through my manual that came with my laptop and decided to unstack reinstall drive in and all re - install Windows Vista. I realized after I put the disk in and from the installation, I forgot to disable my anti-virus (trend pro microphone). I don't know if this is causing the problem, but after the installation, I get a black screen with a white cursor. I let it sit for about 4 hours before I decided to restart my laptop. Once I rebooted, it wouldn't let me normally, start in safe mode, or start from the last successful boot. I then tried to fix with my Vista DVD and who do not have too much work. I also tried the restore and it tells me that I am running in a low state of diagnosis and it cannot be done. I tried to reinstall vista twice since then and I'm out of ideas. Help, please! I forgot to add, when I try to start in safe mode, it stops at the ckcdisk.sys (I think it's called).

    millsx89,

When you install Windows Vista on the 1720 Insp, you need to install the SATA drivers during installation. That's why your system stops at this point. You can also boot into the bios by pressing F2 and changing the Sata in ATA instead of AHCI operation. And then install windows. You will need to change it back once you have installed windows and loaded the drivers.

    Thank you

  • HP DV6 6099EL: SCREEN WHITE AFTER BIOS UPDATE

My computer was perfectly fine until I downloaded and updated the bios from the hp site. Installation succeeded, and rebooted the pc. After the reboot, nothing came on the screen.

I tried different solutions in different forums, including the one that includes the dowmloading and extract the EXE file in a usb port, to creating the ROM, FD and BIN file then using window + keys b after reboot.
The problem is that the motherboard does not seem to read the usb cos the usual light that flashes in a work usb flashes ever.

I do not have partition tools hp cos a few months ago, I changed my hard drive.

    Someone please help.

    Thank you.

Format a USB drive in FAT32.

Download the version of the BIOS F.1A

Unzip it into a folder. Place the file 01658.bin in the root of a usb key.

Download page for your laptop are at the following ADDRESS.

Plug the USB key into a usb 2.0 port. Hold the Windows k and B. keep press now these keys and press the power button.  Wait for the laptop to react. This can take 15 to 30 seconds and the BIOS must retrieve using the version that is in the USB flash drive.

If it does not, then it of time to Contact HP and use the guarantee. Yours is probably still valid.

It could be that your video settings have been set to a resolution that your monitor does not support.

You can start mode (repeatedly tap the F8 key during startup key) safe?  Safe mode requires a video resolution supported by all monitors.  If it works, try to change your video resolution settings

Hmm have you tried to reinstall / recover the laptop to see if it helps to solve this problem?
In my opinion you should try it because it could be a problem in the system.

Otherwise if new system installation / restore does not help you, it could be a malfunction of the equipment.

    Hi IBE876,
    What a Pseudo ;-)
It looks like problems with the lcd screen.
to me it looks loke a defective cable and / or a bad inverter.
do not open the cover of the display until you know what you're doing and you have no guarantee on this machine more...
This inverter is a dangerous thing! It produces a high for the lighttube voltage.
If it is still warranty on this unit, better consult a servicepartner, there also the spareparts right...
If you want to do it by yourself... Keep in mind, it can be dangerous!
Make sure no powersource is connected to your system and battery is taken out.
Maybe it could be a loose cable...

  • I put my screen saver to turn on after 1 minute of inactivity. It does not

I put my screen saver to turn on after 1 minute of inactivity. He does not. I followed the instructions for the Dell Studio PC monitor owner, without success (i.e. type msconfig in the search field, etc.). Could it have something to do with the type of computer that I use (IT ' has an ASUS K52F series)?

It would be useful to know what checks you did already [especially because your reference in msconfig means you did not hurt already].

I assume you have checked the installation was properly completed and everything on the monitor & PC are in agreement.  I suppose also that you have checked the monitor & display settings in the display panel and checked power options.

Check the entries in the Manager of devices for all the warnings, and then try to update drivers - particularly the card video than the one responsible for many problems of power management driver.

    Run the troubleshooter of power

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-power-Troubleshooter

then run both the troubleshooters maintenance & Control Panel Performance, troubleshooting.

If the settings you put in do not appear in the advanced power management options so watch this one then

When you configure power options for the active power plan in Windows Vista or in Windows 7, the changes do not appear in the Power Options item in Control Panel

If this does not help then run the System File Checker to repair corrupted in Win7 files
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833 there is additional guidance on this subject in sfc.exe/scannow

Finally, check your hardware compatibility http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-gb/Default.aspx

    Good luck

  • Satellite M300 stay white screen on after startup

Hi, can someone help me establish why my screen stays white after lit, I hear in the background this laptop is start up, but nothing is on the display

    Hello

I can tell you how to check what s wrong here
You need an external monitor and the need to connect the unit to this monitor.

If you will not be able to see something on the 2nd screen, then I guess that your graphics chip is not OK.
If something is not visible on the 2nd monitor, and an internal display problem could be the reason for your question

  • White screen when I turn on the Satellite M50

I have intermittently just get a white screen when I turn on the computer. Usually, the problem is solved by turning off the computer and try again - but sometimes I get a white screen again.

It seems to be linked to the use of external devices - can someone give me clear instructions on which expected/doesn't have to be connected when I start and shut down the computer? Or other suggested solutions?

    Thank you

    Hi Rachel

Believe me; It's not easy to provide an exact solution and that's why we need to study a little ;)

Have you checked if the graphics card driver update could solve the white screen issue?
If not, try to download and install the latest graphics driver

You second question on the laptop stop problems is known to me. Sometimes it happens on my laptop too. The LTCC is a part of the Norton antivirus application, which is still running in the background of the operating system.
This strange box "close the program" might appear because this context process couldn t be closed automatically and so the operating system can not stop.

Especially the new application installation might help you. But why don't you use Norton Antivirus? What makes the laptop very slow. I have used this app for a long time but now I use the freeware program called Antivir. Its free and in my opinion much better than the Norton Antivirus.
