  Looks like the AppleScript editor does not open on your Mac and activity monitor shows that the program is not responding. I know how about them can be when programs and applications do not work as expected and I'm happy to help you to get AppleScript up and run again.

  The first step is to force the AppleScript Editor to quit smoking and then try opening it again. To force the closure of the program, follow these steps:

  To close an application normally, choose leave in the application menu in the menu bar, or press command-Q. If an application does not respond, you can force it to close it using the Force to leave:

  1. Choose force quit from the Apple menu, or press Command-Option-Esc.
     This is to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete on a PC.

• Player version listed in the GUI does not match that of the executable file (new)

  I've posted about this before (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4817948), but has never been able to find an answer.

  I am currently deployment of Adobe Reader versions 10.1.5 using the MSI installer and group policy. The problem is that a user stops his midway to Windows 7 computer while installation MSI interrupt (i.e. screwing) installation process. I had to remove some entries from the registry and restart the PC of the user in order to restart the installation of the reader (something I've done in the past).

  To verify that the drive has been installed successfully, I navigate to the Reader (AcroRd32.exe) executable Program Files, double-click the executable, select on Adobe on the Help menu, check the version number in the info box and see that the version number is 10.1.4 (i.e. the old version that I'm upgrading to). However, when I travel to the Reader (AcroRd32.exe) executable in Program Files and and open the properties of the file, I see the version 10.1.5 (i.e. the new version I am upgrading to).

  So the Player version listed in the GUI does not match that specified in the executable box.

  It's the second time that this has happened with a Windows 7 PC. I've never known this kind of thing with a PC running Windows XP.

  Why is the different version number in the GUI? Where the version number read to leave for the GUI? The registry? Anyone can shed some light on this situation?

  While I don't know what the problem is, it would be interesting to check the version of the product using the MSI API as described in the guide of the administrator to the www.adobe.com/go/acrobatetk.

• Modeless window by using the "palette" does not remain upward in CS5

  I have a problem running a modeless dialog box with CS5 (on 64-bit Windows).  My own script does not stay in place and either don't extract of SnpCreateDialog.jsx that comes with the ESTK and is supposed to demonstrate modeless dialog boxes.  I tried:

  1. From the Scripts panel
  2. Add #target photoshop
  3. Be sure that the drop down menu says Photoshop, no CTSK

  as suggested in an older discussion at http://forums.Adobe.com/message/3008230#3008230 .  (I decided to make a new discussion as this one was marked answered.)

  It also does not stay in place when moved to the folder of Photoshop Scripts and run on the file menu in Photoshop.

  The corresponding code in SnpCreateDialog.jsx is:

  If I put a breakpoint on the "return true;" line, then I see that the dialog box, in fact, was created and is visible, but he came back to win.show () and will disappear as soon as the script continues.

  A dialogue window waiting for show() end. This is what makes the modal dialog boxes. A palette window does not expect show() end. He runs the rest of the script.

  In the example you posted the entire script after the window display is return true, then ends. That is why there is no blink the window. If you put a line of $.sleep (1000) before the real return line, that display the windows until sleep wait times then the script will exit and the window will close. That's why with Photoshop palette windows are really only useful progress bars or other type of script status windows.

  Although windows palette can allow the user to intreact with application UI while the window is displayed and does not work with Photoshop. The window shows only while the script runs and Photoshop UI interaction limited a running script.

  I tested windows palette in CS2, CS3, CS4 and CS5 with the same results. The window shows only while the script is running.

  With Photoshop if you want the user to interact with the user interface you will need to create a Panel.

• Changes made to a script, and now it does not work

  I have this script that No radio clicks on the button it filled fields with N/A. If the user clicks the Yes option button, the fields are left blank for the user to fill out. The script worked.   Just sent you an updated version... I used the article 6. .your was using [] in a javascript expression. This concept means a JavaScript array notation, so you have to wrap the expression in a xfa.resolveNode ("string that represents the expression")... or pass to formcalc where the [] are allowed.

• Edition with added script AS2 FLA file does not work

  I hired someone else to do the writing of scripts for animation I created originally. He calls an xml file that displays 3 different items in the flash. It works very well... except when I open the FLA and republish - even if I do not change a single thing, the SWF file does not work. I tried everything nothing helped. The writer use CS3. I use CS4, I tried with the CS3 version (on another computer). The writer and myself work on Mac. The writer has even sent screenshots of publication of windows, and I select all options of same exact. (version 9, AS2).  All the world run into this kind of problem? I'm at end of witt. I really need to be able to make changes to this file and publish it. I can post the FLA file, if someone wants to take a look.  TIA, Julie

  I developed a form using the next version of developer costume Oracle 10 g Fomrs using the WINDOWS machine.
  My application server is a SOLARIS machine. All the .fmx are copied to the same SOLARIS machine in a directory.
  I copied the shape (.fmx) in the same directories where other forms are in the SOLARIS machine.
  Now, I click on the menu item (the menu was already present here before to develop the form in the menu. I don't have to create a new menu item in the Menu) in the windows machine.
  The form does not appear.
  Could you please tell me wheather I have to compile the form that I have developed into a WINDOWS machine in a SOLARIS machine format, or should I do something else so that when you click on the Menu item in the Windows machine this form appears. Or Ihave developed this form using SOLARIS machine?

  I have a problem with recordnow software on my new laptop Tecra A7. It does not close after that I have to burn a CD/DVD (recordnow.exe still appears in the Task Manager). It closes correctly when I open only and nothing is burned. The main problem is that I can't access my DVD - RAM drive until the recordnow.exe is closed by the Manager tasks. I tried to reinstall the recordnow software but it does not solve the problem.
