Scripts used to automatically load into Indesign cc

I copied the extendtoolscript follow-up.

  1. //Description:write author in the metadata
  2. / / Jongware another 16 January 2015 Script
  3. #targetengine "add_author_info"
  4. app.addEventListener ("afterNew"add_author_info, false);
  5. function add_author_info (event)
  6. {
  7. var theDoc = event.parent
  8. theDoc.metadataPreferences.author = ' insert n. here '
  9. }

And saved in C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign\Version 10.0\nl_NL\Scripts\Scripts Panel\Startup Script

I can manually select in InDesign and then it works very well.

However it does not load automatically when im from Indesign, so I have to start the scrip everytime im using InDesign.

Are there solutions to this, or I've done all this trouble?

Thanks for your reply,
That doesn't seem to work as well.

Learned that I had to make the folder Startup Scripts of the next panel Script and not in it.

It works now.

Thank you all for your quick comments.

  • where are the printer presets stored? How to find the .prst files to load into InDesign?

    I use InDesign CC 2015 to a new intall of creative cloud on a new hard drive after the old one crashed. I always have access to my files on the old HARD drive and you have copied most of my files on the new drive. When I go to print in InDesign, the program seems to know what settings of the printer, I used on files that I created, but I don't see no presets. When I go to load the application InDesign presets where I should look to load the files .prst and that's what I want to know. They are on the local drive? If yes where? They are on the cloud in my Adobe account where I have my cloud files? I will keep searching my computer, but if someone knows the answer, please help.

    Printer presets are stored in the InDesign Defaults, a part of the whole of the preferences file. You should open the ID on the old system and then click on the dialog box define where you can select them and click on save, and then on the new system, you can load the game that you just saved.

  • Merge data into InDesign with Hebrew characters

    InDesign CC 2014 on Windows 7 Ultimate

    I had an Excel file which contains mainly in English, but has a few words of Hebrews here and there. I was unable to save as a CSV file retaining the Hebrew from Excel, so I downloaded Google leaves and downloaded in CSV.

    When I open the CSV file in Notepad, it looks perfect with Hebrew, although if open in Excel the characters are distorted.

    When it is used to merge data into InDesign, the Hebrew characters appear as such mutilated versions only displayed in Excel.

    I use GREP to format the Hebrew characters.

    I have a feeling that the problem is at the "save CSV" step, but I do not know how to remedy this.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Instead of changing the file extension, try saving the text with UTF-8 encoding.

    Excel: Save as type > text (separator: tab) > Tools > Web Options > Encoding > Unicode UTF-8

  • How to automatically load the variable attributes in an Essbase app?

    Hi gurus,

    E.M.P. 11.1.2 Oracle 11 database as repository and staging area, EPMA as tool to update the metadata in the Planning, Essbase and HFM applications.

    Question: One of our Essbase cubes, to a dimension of variable attributes (in addition to the scenario and year dimensions).
    What are the tools that we could use to automatically load the dimension?
    I understand that EPMA cannot handle the variable attributes.
    We would like to use the rules of classic schema generation, but I don't know if it works or how to do it.

    Any help will be appreciated,
    Thank you

    I think you might be to look Studio if you want to build variable attributes.

  • How can I make the best use of a new external hard drive and a new catalog full of photos just loaded into Photoshop elements 14 Organizer?

    How can I make the best use of a new external hard drive and a new catalog full of photos just loaded into Photoshop elements 14 Organizer?

    Keep all the files on external hard drive image?  Nothing else and no pictures on the desktop?

    Keep all image files both places?

    What is the best way to go through thousands of images in the Organizer to identify and place them in files?

    Once I've placed a file, I just leave it in the entire catalog or a way indicate to me that it has been sorted?

    As overwhelming, any tips/shortcuts/schemes, you can offer are welcome!

    As I only have the version of the EP, here is some info on the organiser:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Photoshop-elements/how-to/use-elements-Organizer.html

    Independent of how this feature works, you want to have your photos in one place and have a backup (second copy) somewhere else. All hard drives will not be successful at some point - some more early, some late - never trust to have your files in any safety devices if they are on a single disc. Once you have your sorted, it would be useful that you will organize/name/tag new photos immediately if the task is relatively short and simple. I copy my photos on my internal hard drive for my camera, take a quick look with preview to see who needs some changes and then decide where to put them - either drop them immediately after naming them or bring in an editing application and then file them away.

  • Automatically load a sequence based entered digital file to USE

    Hello

    I have question where I need to test 8 different DUT, one at a time, but it should automatically load the sequence file based on the digital inputs of the connection block of the UUT.  Each object to be measured has a coonector to the construction of the box where all the e / s is related to the material OR

    3 specific entries of my digital I/o card will show that USE is connected.  When the object to be measured is connected to a card the next logical state of e/o / s will tell USE which must be tested.

    0 0 0--> UUT 1

    0 0 1--> UUT 2

    0 1 0--> UUT 3

    1 1 0--> DUT 4

    1 0 0--> UUT 5

    1 0 1--> UUT 6

    1 1 0--> UUT 7

    1 1 1--> UUT 8

    How testand can load the specific sequence based on above of the digital I/o logic States. Can it be done in the process template? I am also building a simple operator TS interface on labview.

    Concerning

    VERP

    You will need to create a code for this function. You will need to read these digital I/o, select the file in the appropriate sequence.

    You need to open this file in sequence by using the ApplicationMgr.OpenSequenceFile method.

    Set the SequenceFileViewMgr.SequenceFile property with the open movie file reference. Then when you press the buttons of the chosen sequence Entry Point will be executed.

    When I do a search using the Firefox browser or Google engine, I want only a page of research. That I have scroll, Firefox is now automatically load page second, third, etc., as a scrolling down. How can I stop this?

    Could you give the address of the search results page where you get "loading without end? It is not normal that the standard Google search engine plugin that comes with Firefox, but you might have a different plugin.

    Some add-ons have this feature, including those with similar names to the 'autopager"and probably many others. You could review your active extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a (Mac: command + shift + a)
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

    In the left column, click Extensions. Then, take a critical look on the list on the right side. I suggest turning off one you forgot to install. Those who have Options buttons may be worth exploring to see if it is a feature, you can disable.

  • Script to automatically load issue.

    Is there a way to get my Script to automatically load and placed in the menu where the plugin? Maybe just before the Help menu.  I have a markzware plugin that is on the menu and I just click on that and go from there.  It would be nice to have this script up there too.  Is there a way to get there?

    example:

    var

    myEventListener = app.eventListeners.item ("xx");

    If (! myEventListener.isValid) {}

    myEventListener = app.addEventListener ("onInvoke", doJob);

    myEventListener.name = "xx";

    }

    function doJob() {}

    your main function

  • Use of fonts in an InDesign package

    I packed a file into InDesign CC 2015. The fonts folder is in the package and there are no warnings associated with them. Why so my print provider can use these fonts? Back you share files with Dropbox. The provider think that my fonts are the problem because they have not the extensions on file names, but if InDesign is packaging the fonts in a document that works well on my side, these font files should not be complete and functional?

    Another idea of why this does not work, it's that the print provider tries to make minor changes to the wording in the PDF (and loading these fonts packaged in their first system). I think they should be able to do that, then why is it when they try to load those packed fonts that there are serious errors and they do not work?

    If please ignore the question of rights and licensing for this question because we work for the same company and have the rights to use these files to print these documents. I am concerned by the mechanics of how can I have someone else in my company to use the font in an InDesign package folder files.

    Thanks for any help you can offer!

    For the police to work anywhere, but in the packed InDesign file they would need to be installed like any other police, and that requires a license. If you already have the number of seats required on your license, your boss should be able to simply install fonts and forget the package for anything other than archiving.

  • A script to divide each color into a separate layer?

    Hello, I was just wondering if anyone knows of a script that can automate the task of taking a single layer with a few different colors in this (rare, I mean between 2-10 colors here) and separate each color to put on its own layer.

    I did a quick search on google and came across this Split to layers. Scripts Photoshop .
    It's not what I want to do specifically of course but it seems to me that it should be possible to change this to select sort of color threshold instead of select continuous blocks in the alpha channel. I had a look in the script but I would more hazy about how to modify the code for what I need.

    Here, anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you

    Then finally opening in photoshop, separate into layers and applying latest details (shading, highlights, more colors etc.)

    Personally, I think you might be better of sticking with Illustrator, once you vectorized the image.

    In the absence of anti-aliasing (I had to clean up the image significantly, PNG should worked better) and with a limited number of colors, a script approach seems indeed possible.

    This Script is strictly for RGB images and tries to determine the colors, if you know you could throw a bunch of code and set rather manually from the theArray.

    divide the regions of color to an RGB image in layers;

    I have an apple quarkXpress script I want to convert to InDesign. We really think hard on the conversion on InDesign, but one problem is that I have an apple script that automates much of the work. I don't know even if you can use applescript with InDesign. The script we use shaped text with style sheets and incorporates images in the text.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    InDesign supports applescripting. Why not ask your question in the InDesign Scripting forum?

    I am building an iOS app using folio feature in InDesign. I want an audio clip to play automatically when you open a particular page. I can't import a m4a file into InDesign, from what I can tell, but it's the type of audio file that uses iOS. Am I missing something? There must be a way to stream audio on an InDesign iPad app.

    The audio should be MP3.

  • TIFF in photoshop does not load in indesign

    I can't load a TIFF Photoshop file into inDesign. Whenever I try, inDesign sees only half of the picture (see example below). This behavior is compatible with any photo that I try. Display the TIFF format in a file viewer, however, and the whole image is present.

    I use Photoshop and inDesign CS3, Windows 7/64, plenty of memory and storage.

    Others trying to use TIFF I generate are the same, no matter which version of Photoshop or inDesign they use.

    Firefox 42.0 automatically load a tab 'option' as if a Web site is selected. How can I fix it? I can't find any navigation to prevent that from happening. This started when "ask.com" hijacked my browser. I can now load my selected home page, but can not get the tab 'option' to appear automatically as well as my other sites selected in the tabs above. Thank you.

    Firefox uses a vertical bar ("|") in order to separate several home pages.
    You can check the setting of the home page to see if the subject: preferences page is included among the home pages (| subject: preferences #general).

    This can happen if you click on "use current page (s) ' to set the home page and about: preferences is open in a tab.
    You can pin the tab with the subject: the preferences page through the context menu of the tab to avoid including: preferences for layout home page if you want to use this button in "Options/Preferences > general".
    To set a page as the home page, you can drag the globe/lock for the home button.
