SDHC card works on Satellite L450-19Z

HY!

I have a toshiba L450-19Z computer and I wonder that he can read the SDHC memory card. If not, how do this?
Download a driver?

Did anyone know about this?

Hello

Yes, the bridge media slot supports different maps.
SDHC cards are supported too, and you can use 4 GB to 16 GB SDHC cards.

But as far as I know this info can be found in the user manual ;)

Welcome them

    Hello

To my knowledge the laptop supports dual-band built-in antenna and it was a 802.11(b/g) 13ch-minPCI WLan RTL8187B Realtek card.

The replacement of WLan should be possible, but it s very delicate because whole books must be disassembled to gain access to the WLan module

This can be done by a technician of the ASP.

But why you want to replace the WLan?

  • Keyboard does not work on Satellite L450

I'm trying to fix a Satellite L450-181 for a friend.

I had to replace the hard drive because a friend has tried to load Yahoo messenger and when restarting the laptop screen to tell a file is missing or corrupt, but we were able to have access to the keyboard except the mouse and touchpad.

I replaced the hard drive and reloaded windows 7 64 bits on a disc of Microsoft that we were unable to find the Toshiba restore disk. Everything works fine after downloading all the drivers of Toshiba except the keyboard. The keyboard appears in the device as Manager works well without conflicts, but I can't not all functions of the keyboard at all.

I suspect my friend has locked the keyboard in a certain way or there is a setting that I need to activate, but I am at a loss for what to try next as I rebooted the utility of flash, the utility of PPV card, tried the Fn / Fn/F10 and F11 combinations without success.

    Any help would be welcome.

Stand by. Keyboard worked after installation of clean operating system and before you start to install the drivers of Toshiba?
You can use keyboard in mode BIOS (arrows to change the BIOS options)?

  • What WIFI card work in Satellite 110CT?

    Hello

I have a laptop 110CT (110CT/810 PA1224 YX - EN) Satellite that I am trying to get a wireless LAN card to work with it to connect to my BT home hub. I tried a modern bus adapter wireless card (GWK150 802.11 g) but she comes back as the laptop would not; no light showing power on the card either (I run Win98 SE). I know that the two locations to bus my card work as my TDK DF2814 modem card will work in the other slot.

This bus card specifications interface is compatible with modern (32-bit card bus type II) wireless LAN cards or changed the standard?

Perhaps I was unlucky and managed to buy a faulty card? Any information on what WLAN cards or LAN or interface card types are compatible with the CT 110 would be very welcome.

    Thank you, Robert.

    Hi Robert

It is not easy to get info on this portable 10 years old. The fact is that this device has a PCMCIA slot and you can use 2 x cards of Type II or 1 Type III of x. card I can only imagine that you must put something in the BIOS settings.

Check all the settings of the BIOS and see if you need to change some settings. I also think that you should try to use a little older wireless cards. Maybe you wait a little too long.

  • 4 GB SD card work on Satellite P100-160

It will work ok (to improve performance)?

    Hello Michael,

If there is a logo SDHC on your P100-160 next to the SD slot, then Yes, otherwise... Please read before:

I (now) know, most of the new 4 GB SD cards use a new short called standard for SDHC Secure Digital High Capacity and works that on SD-reader which are SDA 2.00 specification compliant. (If your device does not have this capability, it will generally show only 2 GB instead of 4 GB) Using a SDHC card in a non-compliant device can even leave the card not recognized, cause incompatibilities or data corruption and data loss.
There are some 4 GB cards on the market, which are advertised to work, but who are not according to the new SDA 2.00 specification set. Using such a card in a reader SDHC could cause problems with it. The reason is that SD up to 2GB cards have been formatted with the FAT16 file system, while 4 GB cards make use of the FAT32 system follow the SDA 2.00 specification (SDHC) of files.

To ensure that you will have no problem of incompatibility, buy you a Standard SD card of up to 2 GB. If you want to try a larger map, make sure that you will find on both devices (SD reader and camcorder/mp3player/portable/blablabla ;)) new logo SDHC.)

You can still use an (old style) card SD Standard in any device. Just the opposite, using an SDHC card in a standard SD device does not work (correctly or limited).

I don't know if the current technology of material inside the laptops or other devices can update a firmware (software driver solution) to the new SDHC standard (I know that this has been done on some camcorders, however). But if so, you probably will receive (or have already received? huh?) these updates of security common Windows Update from Microsoft.

Hope this little info has been helpful and is accurate according to the sources used.

  • Satellite Z830 - unrecognized 32 GB SDHC card

I have a Satellite Z830 with the SD card reader.

Sheets said he read SDHC cards, so I bought a Transcend 32 Gb SDHC card to put all my music. When I plug it into the laptop SD card reader there is no nothing - nothing show in Windows Explorer or disk management. It's as if the reader doesn't even know a card is inserted.

However, if I put the card in a SD USB card reader and plug it into the USB port, the computer sees the card very well. I can copy files to and from it. Is this a driver problem, or is this hardware connected?

    Hello

According to the user manual, the internal card reader supports SD card (8 MB - 2 GB), SDHC (4 GB - 32 GB) and SDXC (64 GB).
So you should be able to use the 32 GB card with no big problems.

If the SDHC card works in other books, then I would say that this s a compatibility issue that's one and only a plausible explanation for me maybe, you should test another card from another manufacturer under Z830 32 GB SDHC.

  • Satellite Pro A200, Windows XP, 4 GB SDHC card will not work.

    Hello

I had a Satellite Pro A200 installed with Windows XP, SP2 for some time - no problem, a great piece of kit. However I have recently bought a new camera and splashed by a Kingston 4 GB SDHC card. The manual for my A200 to indicate seemes that it my laptop is compatible with SDHC 4 GB cards but when I push the card in the blue LED flashes and then nothing happens. My SDHC card does not seem to be recognized by the system.

I see no error in the log of the events of my OS and I checked the slots operation in trying an old 512Mb SD card and works very well.

    Anyone can offer help please?

For reference, this laptop is a PSAE4E A200 model.

  • Re: Satellite U400 - Toshiba SD Format Utility works do not with SDHC card

I bought a Toshiba U400-10 opportunity and I am in the process of cleaning in Vista 64 stall.
Everything seems to work except 2 utilities.

Toshiba SD Format and Boot Toshiba SD utilities.
I guess that they do not work because I am trying to format a SDHC card and the utilities are not compatible with SDHC cards (SD only).

I hope that someone can confirm my suspicions.
    Thanks in advance.

Download the manuals for this machine and check the list of all supported cards that can be used with it.
You can download manuals on http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_manuals.jsp

By the way: this old machine works perfectly with Win7 32 bit. Why you n t use Win7? It is much better than Vista.

    Welcome!

  • SDHC card do not work on the Satellite A200-1J0 with a clean Vista install

    Greetings,

When I bought this laptop he had 32-bit Vista preinstalled and as usual some Toshiba drivers and software. As I remember there wasn't that no problem with no built in memory card reader, he read regular SD and SDHC cards.

One day I had to reinstall the operating system (without using the recovery disc) and I downloaded the drivers for my laptop's official website, install and the card reader now is not able to read SDHC cards. Is it me?

That's what I installed for the reader:

-Toshiba Value Added Package, where is TOSHIBA Flash Cards inside
    -Flashmedia driver
    Utilities - SD

I just want to underline that there is no problem with reading mmc or normal sd cards.
My sdhc card is 100% works correctly with other card readers.
Another sdhc card I have does not work, it's just that I put anything inside the player.

    Just nothing happens.
Is there something else that I missed, and it is the reason for my problem?

No fix for Vista or something like that?

    Hello

You the problem with SD cards are certainly related to the software I think that your drivers/utilities are installed isn't properly (in order) or on Vista may miss something.

    Maybe you don t know what important thing;
It is very important to install the driver (no matter that drivers;) XP or Vista) in the right order.
For most an installation instruction is placed on the page of the European driver Toshiba, which contains the essential installation order.

As I m not wrong not the A200-1J0 belongs to the series PSAE6E and you must choose this series first to get all the compatible drivers for you series.

    By the way;

The Flash Media Driver is a bridge Media Slot driver. This slot allows you to insert an SD card, Memory Stick (Pro) or xD picture cards.
The SD utilities contains utility Format SD Memory Card and other SD functions like utility of SD memory.

These three applications are very important to use SD cards.

  • Re: Satellite A200-1N7 does not read the SDHC card using Win 7 32 bit

    Hi all

After that I installed windows 7 32 bit on my laptop, it does not read my sdhc card.
And he did it when I got Vista.

Can someone help what to do?

    Thank you very much:

    Adry

    Hello

Have you installed the driver for the card reader?
Have you noticed an unknown device in Device Manager?

Please see the page of European disk from Toshiba for the card reader driver.
Satellite A200-1N7 belongs to the PSAE3E series
I found the driver of the card reader for Vista 64-bit
Usually the Vista driver should work on Win 7 OS too

If this does not work, then try the drivers released for A500 or L500 series!

  • Satellite L40 - cannot read with Windows XP SDHC cards?

    Hello

last year, I bought a Satellite L40 series and a Windows Vista has been installed on it. I found that everything worked properly.

Since then, I found that Windows Vista is slower than XP, I upgraded to Windows XP and I installed all the drivers manually. Everything works fine until I found that I can read only SD card with the Ricoh card reader on my laptop. With Windows Vista, he could read SD and SDHC.

Like all of my files saved to the SDHC, I really want to solve this issue.

I detected on the computer that is my card reader equipment:

Ricoh Memory Stick Host controller (1.0.2.5)
    Ricoh MMC Host COntroller (1.0.0.9)
    Ricoh XD-Picture Card Host Controller (1.00.02.08 / 6.0.1.13)

    The questions are:
    1. the drive to read SDHC card with the Windows XP platform?
    2. If Yes, what should I do with it? Maybe I need to install a new driver? (If Yes, where can I find it?)

Thank you for your concern. I'm really happy if you can help me solve this issue.

    Best regards
    Jenny

    Hello

You may notice yellow exclamation in Device Manager?

Normally, the Satellite L40 can read SDHC cards up to 8 GB so my question is have you tried different brands of SDHC cards?
I have good experiences with Kingston and SanDisk cards.

In addition, you should check the Web from Toshiba site for an update of the card reader:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Last but not least you have installed all the Service Packs and updates for Windows?

  • Satellite U300 - nothing happens when SD/SDHC cards are plugged

Got a Satellite U300 with Vista home premium
Got a year ago almost and is never used the SD card reader. Now I want to use it, but can't find how to achieve or why it does not work?

Insertion of a card in the card reader does not answer at all.

Is there anything need to be turned on?
All drivers that must be installed (tried a driver read SD but no luck with that)?
It is a software error or machine?

    Thanks for the replies.

    Hello

Hmm... It of difficult to say what s wrong
I think that you first need to understand if you use compatible cards.
I put t know what U300 you exactly but some U300 supports these cards:

    8MB - 2 GB SD card
    4 GB SDHC card
    16MB - 2 GB xD Picture card
Memory Stick 8 to 256 MB
Memory Stick Pro 256 MB to 2 GB
    MultiMediaCard 8 MB - 1 GB
miniSD (with SD adapter) 32 MB - 2 GB

Check if you used the card support.

In addition, you should check the status of the SD card reader in Device Manager if there is some yellow exclamation points. If so, then this would mean that the unit is not installed and working properly.

  • Satellite Pro A120 - 160 SD compatible SDHC card reader?

I just want to know if my in my PSAC1E SD card reader can read SDHC cards or not. Someone out there of Toshiba knows, or has someone else out there with the macine even tried a SDHC card in his?

As far as I know that the Satellite A120 supports SD cards up to 1 GB.
If SDHC cards are not compatible.

If you want to read SDHC cards on your laptop, you need an external (USB) card reader.
