Second change monitor resolution

I currently own two identical Dell 17 ' LCD Monitor 173Fpf. One is an extension of the other screen (dual display Configuration). I have owned two monitors for a little more than two years and the two have worked very well for my needs personal bi-ecrans. On the getting started yesterday, my secondary monitor is back at a resolution of 1024 x 768, which is not the native display (1280 x 1024) that I'm used to seeing / to use. In fact, my main monitor remains in the correct resolution while high school can now be changed to 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 720 on the page resolution screen under the control panel.

What happened apparently at random in the display of my secondary monitor resolution? Any ideas on how to solve this problem? I have been and will continue other forms of reading but the fixes and patches do not seem to work. I tried to restart, stop, unplug the power cord for 10 minutes, unplug the VGA for 10 minutes and update my AMD Radeon 7400 graphics card.

If it helps, I'll give you some information on the current hook upward: the primary monitor is attached to my computer (Windows 8.1, 64 bit, 10 GB, Hp's Envy with processor with Six cores AMD 6120) with VGA to VGA output in. The secondary monitor is connected to my computer with VGA (remember, both screens are the same and have all two VGA monitors but my computer only has 1 VGA, 1 and 1 HDMI to DVI in) for a VGA-to-HDMI converter and, therefore, the HDMI in.

[Main monitor]: output VGA---> VGA in-[computer]

[Secondary monitor]: output VGA---> VGA to HDMI---> HDMI in [computer]

The monitors and their resolutions used is the same for every 2 years of possession until yesterday when the secondary monitor is changed. Quite strange really.

Any help/suggestions?

Thank you!

Because they are identical monitors and the other is working properly, what happens if you change your monitors?

The issue is with the monitor or by using the PC HDMI port and/or using the HDMI > VGA Converter and cables associated with?

    Change the screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

  • changing the resolution of w2408h monitor

    Hi guys,.

Grateful if someone could help me with this problem.

I just bought w2408h monitor. My graphics card is the Radeon 9600.

I hv updated my PC to the latest drivers for my graphics card and the monitor.

    My problem is...

I use my XP Control Panel > display to change the setting 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz

When I turn off the screen (leaving the PC running) and later turn it back on - the monitor goes into auto setting and change the resolution to 800 x 600.

What should I do to stop my monitor to change my resolution deskto?

Thanking you in advance for any help you could give me.

I found the solution - actuallyI attached my monitor for my PC using the cables VGA and DVI times. Somehow, my DVI cable is faulty - then when I turn on my screen and then turn it on again - the monitor starts with a DVI mode. Therefore, the problem. Now that I have removed the DVI cable - it works like a charm.

    Thank you.

I'm sorry that this driver has not worked.

The pilot I posted should be only for laptops with the series 7 Intel chipsets.

I guess W8.1 is not in charge of your model.

You can see if this W8 driver works, but I think that nothing is going to work for this model.

I'm down and back up to close it, but can not see the screen to do anything it is like a curtain that I see a bit of color behind the layer

If the screen resolution is set to a setting that your monitor is not supported, the screen can be empty.

Try to boot mode safe (repeatedly press the F8 key as your computer starts up).  Safe mode will come with a screen resolution standard (but large) that support all monitors.  If you can then see your screen, change your resolution to something that is supported by your monitor.  If you make the wrong choice and your screen turns black, don't panic, just do not touch anything and wait about 30 seconds and will return to the screen.  Once you properly set your resolution, then reboot in normal mode.

  • Updates change the resolution

The last two times that installed Windows automatic updates, the next time I used the computer, the resolution was changed to one that is less than the optimum for Windows Vista.  I did a system restore every time to solve the problem, because it was easier than trying to figure out how to reset the resolution.  Why do auto update change my resolution?

    To change your display resolution:

    1. right click on the desktop and select "personalize".

    2. click on "Display settings" at the bottom.

    3. in the window that appears, move the slider to change your resolution. If you don't know what you want, try to drag the increment of a cursor at a time and by clicking on 'Apply' at the bottom to try the resolution. Note: If you change the resolution to one that is not supported by your monitor and your screen becomes black or displays an error message, DO NOT PRESS ANYTHING! Wait 15 to 20 seconds and the display will return to a compatible resolution.

Now that you know how to change your resolution, you can feel free to install updates in the future.

    Hope this fixes your problems,

  • Change the resolution of the screen HP w2207

Hello reader, I bought an HP w2207 monitor about 3 years ago, and everything works fine. But my problem is that I bought a 320 GB PS3 and I connect it via HDMI to DVI + HDMI cable to the monitor. My monitor detects the signal from the DVI input, but does not display anything. I guess the PS3 screen output is always through AV cables But it turns out that even if I switch to the HDMI output (to screen), it still does not display anything. It goes black and says that the entry is "out of range" and that the recommended settings is 1680 / 1050: 60 Hz (the current settings is 720-480: 60 Hz). I wonder that the problem is that the screen resolution is too low to achieve what seizes the PS3 to it. So I want to change my resolution to the recommended, but I don't know how to get there. I tried to do through the menu of the screen by pressing the buttons under the screen, but could not find anything. I can't change my resolution for the DVI input than specified. Thank you. Note:-it is not not cable question, I tried DVI - d single link and dual link

  • Need to reset the external monitor resolution in Windows Vista

Stupidly, I changed the resolution of my new external monitor on my laptop to a not available (single mode external monitor) and received a message on the screen: "out of range" + white screen. No matter how hard I tried, I can't use one external monitor mode and must live with double display (which is a waste of energy on my tiny laptop screen). Could someone tell me please how to reset the resolution setting in Vista for the external monitor?

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

You can try the steps below and check if the problem is resolved.

You can go to the control panel of the screen and reset it to factory settings.

And if you face the same problems, then, you must contact your system provider who will be in a better position to help you reset the external screen to its default state.

As a workaround, so check you have function keys on your portable computer, which can go from a monitor to your laptop and external monitor.

If Yes, then try to return to the screen of the laptop and turn off the external monitor.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Change the resolution of normal-vista through Safe mode-vista

    Hello!

I installed a demo version of this game of strategy, 'Starcraft 2 '. After installation, I try to play. However, without warning the game changes permanently my screen resolution to a value that is compatible with my monitor (says my Samsung TV/Pc monitor ~ "cannot display resolution")

Even after restarting Vista, remains the problem of resolution. Still no display.

Vista safe mode, but displays in another resolution and works very well (I am writing this message in SafeMode). Now, I can change the resolution here, but whatever the changes I make do not transfer to normal-Vista mode.

If anyone, please tell me, How to change the display resolution of the normal mode, safe mode? Alternatively, how can I change the resolution, 'the eyes bandaged?

I uninstalled and will avoid the game.

I also tried the system restore, twice in fact, just to be sure. Picked dates from before I even heard of the release of the demo, but it still does not work. The display resolution is still off enough to leave my empty screen.

Try the following, but do it in Safe Mode so that you can see everything on the screen...

    1. set DPI:
Right-click on a free space of the desktop > customize > column to the left, adjust the size of police (in PPP) > uac prompt > click default scale (96 DPI).

    2. resolution:
Right-click on a free space of the desktop > Personalize > Display Setings > move the slider to the right or left whatever the case may be. Check your user manual, see if she tells you what resolution is for your computer. My laptop is using 1280 x 800 pixels.

Here is a table of the guide line:

    Monitor 15 inch

    1024 × 768

    17 to 19 inch monitor

    1280 × 1024

    monitor 20 inch and liked

    1600 × 1200

  • 3007WFP - cannot change the resolution of 1280 x 800?

    Hi all

My monitor was turned off for about a year, and recently I plugged it in and I can not change the resolution to anything other then 1280 x 800, which now is also marked as recommended (not true in the past). Whenever I try to change I get different by config behavior, but most of them, I get a black or some screen lines color resistance. Everyone has been through this, and are there alternatives that can be done at home?

The only resolutions supported are 1280 x 800 (Single Link) and 2560 x 1600 (Dual Link). To get the best resolution of 2560 x 1600, the video card must have a port DVI - D Dual Link and you will need a DVI - D Dual Link. The left in the picture. Check these and after return.

  • Is it possible to change the resolution batch, but not the size of the pixels?

I was changing my digital photos from 180 to 300 ppi resolution individually that I retouched, but sometimes I forget. Because I need a higher resolution for printing, I decided to automate this step by using the "Process Multiple Files" of the PSE feature. I noted that the selection of the resolution was grayed out until I checked 'Resize pictures.' Given that I didn't change the number of pixels, I left these fields empty.

When I started the automated processing, I noticed it was terribly slow, so I cancelled it and looked at the resulting files. They had more than doubled in size from the file because the PSE has been almost double the pixel Dimensions! I don't want to try a "resizing" for the pixel dimensions current workaround, because the treatment takes about 45 seconds per file, and if I have cropped the photos, the pixel dimensions vary. Is there an automated way to change only the PES resolution... quickly?

Also, I really want to double the resolution of 180 dpi to 360 DPI, but PSE limited my choices to 300 or 600 or less. I read about Scripts, but I don't think that PSE supports. I have version 6.

Thank you very much for the help.

To tell you the truth, changing the resolution of your digital photos is totally meaningless.

A digital photo that is (for example) 2000 x 3000 pixels and 180ppi is the SAME PHOTO EXACTLY as if you changed the photo of 2000 x 3000 to 300 ppi.

So my advice to you is to don't bother to make all these changes resolution, because there is no advantage. Additional work, no advantage? I don't like the sound of that.

The only time you need to worry about the resolution is when you print, and even then, if you say printing software you want a 4 x 6, with most of the software you will get a 4 x 6, regardless of the resolution contained in the image file.
