I guess that the framework for the second HDD can be ordered from the service provider authorized in your country!
Boys ASP provide generally all necessary parts in a compatible Toshiba laptop.
Just ask this framework.

    Hey,.

If you think that the boots of laptop but you don t see something, I would like to connect an external monitor in your case. So, you can check if the notebook starts really or not and if so, you can see what is the reason.

If the external monitor is also black I would try this:
-Remove the battery and the AC adapter
    -Wait at least an hour
-Reconnect AC/DC adapter and install the battery
-Make sure the battery is fully charged
    -Try to start the laptop

  • Question about the use of the HDD on Equium P200-11R

My laptop came with a 120 GB hard drive. It has been partitioned as 2 X 60 GB labeled disks Vista C: and E: data. The two discs were formatted in NTFS. Drive C has now only 20 GB of free space and E drive is empty. Can I transfer all my music, Photos and Documents etc. files on drive E to free up space? If I fill my C drive it 'overflow' to the E drive or what? Can I install and run programs on drive E?

I'm a bit puzzled as to why he acted in the first place. It would seem logical to leave as a 120 GB drive after mounting! No information as to what I can do with that lost space will be beneficial.

    Best regards

    Peter

    Hello peter

Yes, you can delete all data from the partition E. When I say all the data, I mean images, office documents, movies mpeg and mp3 music files. But please don't delete some records owned by a specific application.

  • Equium P200-1ED - Question on the possible 2nd HD and RAM

    Hello

I've got the Equium P200-1ED and in the manual (page with diagrams showing the characteristics of the laptop), it mentions a second hard drive.
I know my P200 does not have a second mounted drive so does that say space to eventually mount a second drive?

Also, is it true that the max supported ram is 2 GB?
It would be nice to upgrade the standard 2 GB Ram.

    Thank you

    Hello

Well, the second HDD depends on the single model.
The second HARD drive Bay must be placed close to the first HARD drive Bay.
You can remove the cover that secures the second HDD and can check if the necessary controller is available on your laptop.
Please note that the second HARD drive Bay could be available but without the HARD necessary interface disc.

    Regarding the upgrade of memory;
If your laptop was equipped with Intel 945 GM/PM Express chipset or higher, you can update the memory up to 4GB. If the laptop was equipped with an Intel 943GML Express chipset, you can upgrade the memory up to 2 GB.

But note; 32-bit Windows system will recognize only 3GB due to the 32-bit Microsoft Windows operating system limitation.

  • Equium P200-1ED: is it possible to use 3 Gbps HARD drive?

    Hi all

I have a laptop Toshiba Equium P200-1ED and quickly fill capacity on the hard drive. I'm looking to upgrade to something like a 500-700 GB HARD drive.

However, when I look around for 1.5 gb/s options I am limited to 160 GB maximum.

Even if the current HARD disk interface is 1.5 gb/s (currently using Hitachi HTS542512K95A00) is possible to use a HARD 3 gb/s drive and P200-1ED will support it?

I am not so embarrassed on the speed of performance, more the need for a larger storage capacity without having to get an external drive.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Announcement

    Hello

Equium P200 supports the controller SATA HDD and SATA I and SATA II HDD are compatible and would be supported by the BIOS.

You can use a disk HARD SATA II (3 Gb/s).

But perhaps only the 1.5BGb / s (SATA I performance) would be reached.

    Hello

At the bottom of the unit, you will find two bays for HARD drives. Right?
But a Bay does contain all the connectors? Right?

At first glance, this might be a little strange, but the fact is that the different models of Satellite P200/P200D were available on the market with different motherboards.

Some would argue a 2nd HARD drive but some don t units. But all models supports the same low coverage and some people think that a 2nd HARD drive would be possible, what's not.

  • Compatibility with Equium P200 RAM

    Hello

    Is PC2 - 6400 S-666-12-1E with Equium P200-1ED compatible?
I don't know that I asked before I bought it, but now it does not start. So I want to know if it is because they are defective or got bad advice.

    Thank you

    H Jacke

It is not easy to give you the right answer because Toshiba offers info on the RAM modules tested only.
What I found in the specification is information that your machine can be upgraded up to 2 GB of RAM and the compatible RAM modules are:
    1 GB-DDR2-667-PA3512U-1M1G > Kinston KTT667D2 / 1 G
    2 GB DDR2-667-PA3513U-1M2G
    512 MB DDR2-667-PA3511U - 1 M 51

Unfortunately there is no information about the other brands. You can buy it and test it. If there is a compatibility issue just return it.

  • Processor upgrade and Equium P200-1ED

    Hello

I installed an SSD of 64Go and installed Windows 7 with the user and the data folders program on a SD card installed as USB key into the Expresscard slot. I also put in 4 GB RAM

It is still slow to navigate the Web through wired Ethernet. So I plan to upgrade the processors as the neck of the bottle seems to be permanently on the processor which is a T2310 Dual Intel @1.46 GHz.

So the question is what is the next possible CPU upgrade?

    Thank you

Update CPU has no influence on the Internet.
    It's done.
If you have a slow internet connection, check the flow of data to your internet provider.

    Regarding the upgrade of CPU:

Upgrading the CPU is certainly not supported by the laptop manufacturers. But this does not mean that another CPU would not work. A lot of people here in the forum attempted to upgrade the processor and in some cases, it worked.
It will be important to know which chipset was built in this Equium P200-1ED.

I m not very well, but I guess that its Intel GL960 Express Chipset. Please correct me if I m wrong the chipset must support the new CPU, otherwise the new processor cannot be used.

Page Intel ARK provide information on supported processors
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/29830

In addition the new processor must be supported by the BIOS. If the BIOS would not support new CPU, the laptop would not start even if the chipset would be compatible with the new processor.

As you can see, the CPU upgrade isn't easy because of pending issues concerning the compatibility issues between different parts for laptop.

By the way: I am wondering about the upgrade to 4 GB RAM because this device should support max 2 GB of RAM

  • 17-x014ur HP: HP 17-x014ur held for second HDD

I want to know, if in my laptop is the place for the second hdd? I can't find a plug about it on the site

There is no profit. It is what it is. A SATA M.2 connected via the same port as a 2.5 inch SATA SSD will perform about the same. If your laptop computer has the necessary hardware to install a 2.5 inches WHAT SATA SSD, but you would have to buy additional hardware to operate a m2 drive the and you will get nothing in performance. Seems an easy decision what to do.

  • Satellite Pro A300 - can I add a second HDD?

    Hi Forums,

I have an A300 PSAGDA-02000R and was wondering if it is possible to add a second HDD to it. After I removed the Panel to inspect where the second HDD going, I discovered that there is no connector, so I was wondering if you bought or have Toshiba install a second series of connectors?

    any response would be great

    Thank you F1R3F1GHT

    Hello

    > where will the second HDD, I discovered that there can be no connector
That means that you can add a second HDD. That's fact!

The fact is that all the A300 models using the same case but if you can connect a second HDD it according to the motherboard. This connector is attached to this topic and you can therefore add one such connector.

  • Re: Equium P200 close issue with Vista SP1

My Equium P200 seems to have developed a problem when stopping down.

If I select 'Shut Down' option in the Shut Down menu then all revenues, but while the laptop restarts itself and there will be a 'blue screen of death' teling me he does a memory dump physical.

When it is complete Notepad starts and there is a message saying that Windows (Vista SP1) has recovered from a serious problem.

Any ideas on how to fix?

    Thank you

AFAIK SP1 could create serious problems because of the problems of compatibility between some drivers and tools.

Have you noticed the same issue without SP1 installed?

I think you should check this!

  • Satellite X 205-S9349 - second HDD are not bootable

    Hi all.
I encountered a very strange error: my second HDD are not bootable, but only on my note (have 2 hard drives and I have installed Vista on the first and XP on the second). It worked well for about year.

And once I worked in Vista, I've just going to boot XP and restarted just the note and it did not start more than just initialization on the post screen. It initializes everithing is nice and I can even manage BIOS but goes no further.

After that, I tested each part if it does not my notes to start and this is the second HARD drive. I have tried to swich my HARD drives, but it does not work. Two SATA connectors work although I tested with the first HARD drive. If I comment on second HARD drive in BIOS, the system starts up nice, I can see the second HARD drive and work with it.
But if this is not comment system does not further thant post-test after it initialized everithing!

The strange is that it works well on my desk. Not a single problem with this HARD drive, I installed XP on it and it starts ok.
I tried to format the HARD drive, in order to kill and create the partition, even to write own mbr... None of it worked)
It still won't go note during an office is ok.

Pls if people if anyone can help me with a post serious ideas here or send me an email - [email protected]

    Thank you

How did you choose which OS should start?
    You use a boot manager?

I have the Satellite Pro P300 with two hard drives (each with two partitions). On the fist one I installed Windows XP Home edition and Vista second. When I start my Windows laptop boot manager asks me what operating system I want to start.

How it worked on your laptop?

  • Equium P200 with WXP, no ACPI

    Hello

I recently bought a new HARD drive to replace the Vista operating system.

I used nlite to make an iso of the drivers SATA, SP2, and XP Home.
I installed XP, SP3 and then all the drivers concerned from Toshiba. Especially the PC is fine, but I have a couple questions.

    They are:
1 button will turn PC on or off, but not shut down the OS before turning off.
    2. when I stop XP I get the message (Win98), "it is now turn off your computer"! (Both of these may be (?) related).
    3. in eating patterns Options\Power I have only the possibility of the turn the HARD drive and monitor and then in the Advanced tab at all no options!
    4. with the exception of point 1 I have no control of the any of the other easy access above the function keys buttons. Toshiba controls are configured but do nothing!

I studied these problems and it would seem that the APCI perhaps the corupt? I can't find any mention of ACPI in the BIOS (Phoenix V2.3). Also, I can't find any reference to ACPI in including hidden devices Device Manager! It was also suggested to upgrade the BIOS to ACPI compatible version?

The only clues I can give, is that even if the pilot pwrsav the pwrsav driver installed OK - in twice caused a fatal error (BSOD) on the PC. To restart, as Toshiba Power Saver icon in Control Panel, but the opening gave me a Fatal Exception error message. I then restored the system to remove the program.
In my opinion that ACPI and energy savings are related, please inform me if I am wrong. (Items 1 to 4 can all be linked)?

XP has apparently ACPI capabilities but I can't find anything on the PC in this regard.
With Vista that I had no problem with mentioned previously not mentioned and everything worked perfectly.
Your help would be much appreciated...
