Security Essentials not on when I turn on laptop? Win7

Not sure if I posted this in the right forum. I just noticed this. When I turn on my computer 2 years of the old MSE tray laptop Acer Travelmate Win7 lower right icon is red but after all programs load finally turns it green.

I thought that programs remained on the merits even if the laptop is turned off. My AVG stays on I think because it's still ok under tension.

Programs do not remain in the background when the computer is turned off.  After the start, all background programs must restart and load to new charges, which takes a few minutes after the first start-up and connect.

It is one of the reasons why it is faster to stop but just use sleep instead (as a phone mobile modern just goes to sleep when you don't use it, not completely turned off).

    Hello

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

It will also tell you here what Service Packs, if any, are already installed.

Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, first of all the installation of SP1.

    Vista SP1 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30

    Vista SP1 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21299

    Vista SP2 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16468

    Vista SP2 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17669

And if you have any problems:

There is a Forum that Microsoft has put in place for problems with Vista Service Packs. If repost you the Forum they will definitely try to help you here...

  • Windows will not open, when I power my laptop, it just keep cycling until the start.

I am running Vista Home premium, this morning, I opened Hotmail and froze my system (on my laptop).  I went to stop it.  When I started again, he came there an inconsistancy in one of the discs, so that a disk scan had started.  When he finished my system would not start.  He turns, goes through the first page with the little bar on the bottom, then turns black, the windows symbol rises, the symbol of the manufacturer comes up, then a blue screen showing the configuration of updates: part 3 of 3-0% complete, do not turn off your computer.  Then the process is repeated.  Any help would be appreciated I need pictures of her.  This is the only place that I have pictures of my mother to before she died.  If there is no way to get my laptop, is there a way to recover photos?

    b. click on apply. Click OK.
