Security of the incorporated batteries

Hello

When access to the course for svc - 16 has everything I can find for this specific course to:

  • Safety of the on-board batteries (search for this course to ATLAS)

Does anyone know if this course (I have access to the ATLAS/GSX) was renamed or where access?

Thank you

I upgraded my browser Firefox 6.0.1 and now when I enter a secure site the security lock is no longer present at the bottom of the page.

The status bar is gone and the 'blocking' with her, from Firefox 4.0. Safety information on a web page are shown by the Site identity button.

The former lock could give users a false sense that a site is safe to not to provide information to the site and showed that there is a secure connection that does not guarantee that you are connected to the right server. The Site identity button is introduced in Firefox 3.0 to show more complete information of 'identity' for HTTPS web pages.

  • ProDesk 600 G1 BIOS configuration of the TPM secure through the BIOS Configuration utility

We have a range of devices, computers HP desktop and laptops in our environment.  Devices are all running Windows 7 64 bit and should have Bitlocker enabled, but we found that some were not encrypted.  So I am trying to set up a remote BIOS and Bitlocker config activate software that we can get out via SCCM and then embed in a task sequence image for new machines.

I use the Bios HP Configuration utility to check a BIOS password is set and then activate the TPM chip.  I took a BIOS config output of each of our models and created a settings file that has all of the TPM associated parameters of all models.

At the moment I run Setup BIOS utility manually for testing.  On all models I tried that works very well, except for the 600 ProDesk G1 SFF.

When I run the utility on the ProDesk 600 G1 MFS, it says that I have managed to update the settings, and when I check the BIOS, the TPM secure has been unhidden and the TPM Management was given to the operating system (two settings I change), but the TPM itself remains hidden.

It's the release of the BIOS configuration utility (it uses the 2.60.13.1 version, which uses plaintext passwords.  I also tried with the 3.0.13.1 later version that uses password files - same result)

    C:\ > BiosConfigUtility64.exe /cspwd: "password" set: "TPM_Config.REPSET"
    < BIOSCONFIG Version = "2.60.13.1" Computername = 'HP600G1' Date = "24/07/2014" Time = "13:01:37 ' UTC '1' = >"
    < SETTING changeStatus = "pass" name = "Embedded Security Device" reason = "' returnCode '0' = >"
    < OLDVALUE > <! [CDATA [hidden device]] > < / OLDVALUE >
    < NEWVALUE > <! [CDATA [device]] > < / NEWVALUE >
    < / SETTING >
< SETTING changeStatus = "pass" name = "Enable security on the next boot" reason = "' returnCode '0' = >"
    < OLDVALUE > <! [CDATA [disable]] > < / OLDVALUE >
    < NEWVALUE > <! [CDATA [enable]] > < / NEWVALUE >
    < / SETTING >
    < SETTING changeStatus = "pass" name = "The BONES of on-board safety management" reason = "' returnCode '0' = >"
    < OLDVALUE > <! [CDATA [disable]] > < / OLDVALUE >
    < NEWVALUE > <! [CDATA [enable]] > < / NEWVALUE >
    < / SETTING >
< SUCCESS msg = "Successfully set BIOS config." / >
    < information msg = 'BCU return the value' real '0' = translated = '0' / >
    < / BIOSCONFIG >
    C:\ >

And after a reboot (where it should activate the TPM), BIOS shows as disabled built-in safety device (see attachment for the image).

I have tried everything I can think of to get this to activate, including:

    • Different versions of the BIOS configuration utility

    • Remove the password from the BIOS and the application in the same order as the parameters

    • Different passwords

    • Reboot and allowing the machine to start completely to Windows before checking if the setting took effect

I also tried to add the utility and the commands for an SCCM package and it works directly and as part of a sequence of tasks to see if that makes a difference, but nothing I've done has activated the TPM module.

I know that the TPM module works, as you can turn it on manually and then Bitlocker can be applied to the machine, but with thousands of devices in our environment, I need to get this job without the need for manual intervention.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?  Or has someone at - he managed to activate the TPM on the SFF of 600 ProDesk G1 using the BIOS Setup utility?  Any ideas / suggestions would be very appreciated!

P.S. This thread was moved from the company PC - Compaq, Elite, Pro for HP PC Client management. -Hp moderator of the Forum

This problem has now been resolved by HP.

They provided a replacement motherboard for the test machine I was using that solved this problem. I don't know what kind of motherboard failure could prevent the activation via the script TMP chip but not prevent activation through the BIOS menu, but as a replacement solved the problem, then it must be a hardware failure.

  • Toshiba Bulletin Board warns about the security of the poor

    Hi all.

I noticed that since I have my laptop (L500-1XL) who on a daily basis, a message appears, then disappears, but a sign is left on the security of the members of the Bulletin warning of red section, and if I pass the pointer over it, it says "poor."

    What does that mean?
What am I supposed to do with this vague information?
Does anyone else have this problem?

I installed, updated antivirus updated, running, is recorded by Windows and Windows does not have a problem.
I have a firewall works well.
I don't understand! What is poor?

  • What level of security is the best in the OSI model, which is the application level?

    Hello

I'm curious to know what level of the model OSI protects best against pirates, which is the application level?

    Thank you

    Johan

    Hello Johan,.

The OSI networking reference model (ISO 7498 - 1) is designed around seven layers arranged in a stack.

The OSI security reference model architecture (ISO 7498-2) is also designed around seven layers, reflecting a high level of different requirements in the security of the network.

In the OSI model, each layer has its own functionality and according to which it has features of different security as shown below.

    Application - authentication

    Presentation - access control

    Session - non-repudiation

Transport - the integrity of the data

    Network - Privacy

Data binding - insurance / availability

    Physics - certification / Signature

  • Unable to accept the terms of use, which is needed to manage the security of the family

    Hello

I have a new laptop with Windows 8, which I created two users - one for me and one for a child (Standard user - and Coachman on behalf of child) (Administrator). I created a real account for the child and filled out all the necessary information - my live account has been used for a few years, but I update personal information.

When I try to manage parental controls from the Control Panel, I get an error message indicating that I should go to account.live.com to agree to terms of use. I can't find any place to accept the terms of use, or my account og the child account. I looked for a solution and found that many have had similar problems. One of the solutions that seeems to help was to connect to fss.live.com, but this page just redirects to a generic MS information page of security for the family.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the quick response!

I managed to find a solution, not an elegant solution, but it will keep your real account (parent1) to monitor your kids.

    1. create a new live account (parent2)
    2. create a new account admin on the PC using the new live account (parent2)
    3. connect to the computer with the admin account and create an account for child
(using either an og existing live new account - don't forget to check the child...)
    4. you should now be able to manage via the parental control panel
    5. Add a new parent in parental control (your old existing live account - parent1)
Some steps are probably not necessary, but I managed to get the "accept the terms of use" hampers by following these steps.
  • Security for the family and the Task Manager

I installed on all my computers, parental control, for all users, and it is configured to block all adult sites.  It works perfectly, but there is a fault.  A person can go into the Task Manager and end the process and access the internet without the security of the family running.  Is there a way to stop the possibility of terminating the process in the Task Manager?
    Help, please?

    Hi Lisa,

We have simulated the issue on our end. Standard accounts can use the Task Manager to end the control client parental (fsui.exe), but if he or she tries to put end to the the service process control parental (fsssvc.exe), it will be refused. This would avoid the child's account to get around the parental control service.
If you want to disable the tasks for the standard account manager, you can post on the forum of Windows. Please note that the Task Manager is useful for standard accounts such as terminate tasks for programs no longer responds.
    Thank you!

    Hello

The latest version of the parental control now uses the standard user accounts (logon Windows) as a child in the safety of the family. The management functionality of contacts for email accounts is no longer available. For more information, please refer to this topic:

  • How can a member of the family without an account standard security for the family... I have windows 7

I use to have security for the family, but it has just stopped working.  I need for a family member who does not have a standard account.  I downloaded Essentials.

    Hi jaguar1234,

The latest version of the parental control now uses the standard user accounts (logon Windows) as a child in the safety of the family. If you need to know about adding a user to the Windows login with standard privileges, please see this link.

Once you have finished creating a standard user account and that you want to manage under parental control, then follow these steps:

    1. run the parental control on a Windows account with administrator privileges. If this is your first time running the parental control, you need to sign in using your Microsoft Account.

    2. after login, select the standard Windows account that you want to monitor as a child by checking the box to the right of the name of the account, and then click Next after.

3 on the right, you will see members parental control with a list of drop down option. Click the menu drop-down, and then select Add standard account name.

    4. click on record. Wait until the installation is done.

    5. Once done, you should see the name of the account under Windows monitored accounts. To manage the account and setup of filters and restrictions, to connect on https://familysafety.microsoft.com, look for the child account name, and then click change settings.

If you are having trouble configuring your parental control, do not hesitate to reply to this post.

    Thank you.
