See the images by file name?

Why Lightroom import pictures randomly? Why aren't they imported automatically by file name? How can I view my images by file name?

Thank you!

Hi TNLuz,

Lightroom important images by file name. You must specify the option and then set library window and import to show images by file name.

See How set options in Lightroom library display

  • Is it possible to sort the images by file name?

I imported a record of 200 images in Photos for OS X (El Captain). Image files have been appointed in the order - I want them to appear in a slide show: photo_01, photo_02 etc...

Once I imported the images - I found them all out of order - and the only options I can find in the view menu are somehow 'oldest first', 'newest first' or ' title '. Please, someone tell me I'm missing something obvious - he and not that Apple chose to omit the possibility to sort the images by name? If this is the case - I'm speechless - how is f - ing stupid!

Sort by file name is not an option in the Photos. Albums and smart albums you yourself set can be sorted by name, date of capture, or manually.

Sorting through the predefined albums is automatic:

    • 'Photos' display with moments and collections is sorted by date of capture and the location.
    • 'All the Photos' display is sorted by the date of the import session.
    • Other built-in smart albums are sorted by the date of capture.

You can see the current sort order, preset, if it is grayed out in the "view > sort ' menu.

    As a workaround:

    1. If you need to want pictures to be sorted by file name, copy the name of the file in the title field. Then, create a smart album of the items and sort by title. We have posted a trick to copy the name of the file in the title field for the selected photos: Script: change the title filename without Extensionor: Script: batch change the titles of the Extension/w
    2. Or view your photo library in pictures of power.  This versatile tool lets you browse photos as a list or thumbnail while looking the other metadata under the thumbnails or displayed as list with columns selected and sorted by columns.

  • When I open my pictures folder I can't image, what I see is a generic file name... Y at - it an option that I can use if I can see my photos without having to open it? __

    There is none

When I go to the images and select views and select Extra Large icons, I can see the images above the file name.  Frankly, I don't know how to avoid having the picture show, even though I never wanted that.  He has no control, I know to show representations of just generic file or show pictures showing images being the default value.  Maybe something is happening with your system.  If this does not work, after return and we will try to solve the problem.

  • When I open an image in Photoshop, I can not see the file.  The thumbnail on the right, but I do not see the image on the work area. I use Windows 8

When I open Photoshop CS6, I can't see the image.  The thumbnail is visible on the right side and the work area shows file information, but not picture.  I've updated PS, my driver. The same goes for the jpg or RAW.

Make sure that your drivers are up-to-date. Try to disable the GPU acceleration in preferences then restart Photoshop.

    Thanks for the follow-up.

Missing in this equation are the Premiere Elements version you were using and the operating system on which it is running. But...

The Act is accomplished. But... Up to now, and after that you went ahead and moved to version 12, we now learn what Premiere Elements version you were using. We don't yet know the operating system involved.

You said first Elements 10. First 10 Elements is affected by a problem serious display known if the computer uses an NVIDIA GeForce video/graphics card card. In this issue, the only cure is to roll back the version of the driver about may 2013. The description of the problem and how to make the rear roller are described in one of the messages at the top of this forum. What video/graphics card your computer use?

On another front, Adobe will release a new version of Premiere Elements any day now. Not one, but Adobe knows the function defined for the new version. This type of information is announced at the time of the release of the new version.

So the solution to the problem you presented in this thread could have been...

1 roll back the version of the NVIDIA GeForce driver for all may 2013 if possible (Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit, maybe not possible)

    2. move to a different version of Premiere Elements (which you did)

I offer the foregoing for consideration so that you can review your decisions. We are pleased to learn that the first items 12/12.1 works for you.

Please do not hesitate to ask questions and seek clarification, but do not forget that the answers are in the details.

    Best wishes

  • could not see the image tiff, printed using Microsoft Office Image writer

My OS is Windows Vista Home Premium.

I am able to print a document using the printer, but when I print the same document by selecting the Microsoft Office Image writer, I cannot find the image file to the location that I saved. I am able to see the image immediately after printing, but does not after the closing of the window. I am able to see the document I'm trying to attach it to an email in the file to be attached to window, but if I join I get an error message saying that the file is not found at the location. If anyone can help...?

Ooes that happen with all the tiff images or just a specific document?  It happens with any other type of file?

If it occurs with a single document and works very well with other tiff files, then I would say that the file is corrupted.  Can you open it directly?  It may be a problem with Office Image Writer, and possibly your e-mail program - but it's not likely if they work with other files, tiff and other file types.

Maybe the Office has a feature to repair corrupted files.  Also if the problem affects all files tiff and other types of files when you use Image Writer, I suggest that repost you your question in the Forum of the Office to: http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/flyoutoverview.mspx where the experts at the office will be more than happy to help you with your problem.  You can also find 3rd-party file corruption repair sofware online by searching for what I said just to www.download.com, www.tucows.com, Bing and Google.  If you use Outlook for e-mail, you can after there as well to cover the messaging problem you described.  If you use another e-mail program, answer simply by name.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Problems with the "use tiny file names...". "checkbox in the settings of WebHelp box

Given that the RH 9 is only able to run on Windows, the checkbox "Use tiny file names..." ' (see image below) can cause some unexpected problems when generating output for a unix (or linux) platform. I found this recently when generating output of web for a project that is visualized on a linux platform machine and met hundreds of broken links unexpected help.

WebHelp Settings - User LowerCase for Unix.jpg

If this is the first time you generate your project output, this function works very well - it converts all topics, image files and all what it takes to display help, lower case. However, if for some reason, you had generated previous outputs without this box, and now you have decided that you want all your files output in lower case, just check this box and regenerating the output will not work.

The reason is simple - the Windows operating system does not distinguish between upper and lower case in file names (e.g., fichier.htm name is the same as the FILE name.) (HTM). UNIX (and linux) are case-sensitive and treat these files are two separate files. Therefore, HR fact not (cannot) change existing file in your folder names with this checked out and gives no message indicating such when generating the output. In this case, the only way to solve this problem is to delete the folder containing your output files and have HR to regenerate your project from scratch.

I had an additional problem which has made things even worse. In a project for a linux platform, I have unchecked the box during the creation of project by accident (perhaps over a period of days or weeks). Then, due to another problem, I had to restore my project at an earlier stage. At this point, I discovered that my necessary help links of the files using lowercase and uppercase the filenames for all work very well.

I've seen no mention of this in the HR documentation, so I thought that I must draw the attention of the HR community.

Yes - just to clarify, I'm taking everything I publish on.

Reminder - just those who publish in a Unix/Linux warning environment if you need to change the case of file names in your folder you post on and you already have stuff in there with the same name, you will need to delete the files first before you republish.

  • I do not see the image when I layer 2 images

I try to layer 2 in PS JPEG files and tried to open the 2 files and copy / paste it and also tried to drag and drop.  A new layer is created, but I do not see the image so that I can resize.  Went through all the tutorials and answers to similar questions but no luck.  Tired - I'm sure this must be a very simple thing to do.  Thank you.

I figured well tones to be involved, but with a jpg that wouldn't be a problem anyway.

What did you do for troubleshooting so far?

  • I have CS6 for Windows Vista. I can't see the images.

Everytime I open a new file, or open an existing image, the image looks like gray blocks little, and I do not see the image. It shows the image of the thumbnail, and it shows that I scored through on the tile, but I don't see anything on the image. It's like trying to edit a picture of a polar bear in a snow storm. What can I do to change this? I have reset the preferences, but nothing works.

    Hello

Most likely the graphics card driver is to blame.

If you go to Edit > Preferences > Performance and uncheck the box Use Graphics Processor , and then restart photoshop, that makes a difference?

If the works above, then you should try to update the driver for your (video) graphics card on the site of manufacturers of brand of card you have.

(Nvidia.  AMD (ATI Radeon) or Intel)

In this way, you can activate use graphics processor on and the features of the gpu in photoshop cs6.

    Hello

The links provided of Andrew are good and explains a lot of things and hope that the below a will also help more...

If you want to display your virtual machine using GUI Configuration files, and then follow the steps below

    1. connect to your customer VI or Vcenter and identify the virtual machine that you want to display the Configuration of the 'Search' tab in the right-hand

    2. When you have found the right VM, go to the settings and find on what data store, it is present and go to these data, store and right click on that and select Browse the data store

    3. Select the folder with the name corresponding to your virtual machine name, and you will be able to find all the files that you see in the attached picture.

If you want to display your virtual machine by using the CLI Configuration files, and then follow the steps below

    1. connect to ESX using the Console used in your environment (for example: Putty) with your root and PW id (or your existing access)

    2. Once you log in, go to "cd/vmfs/volumes" (commonly used way... can also vary)

    3. as you know from the data store, type 'cd datastorename' and you have the list of virtual machines that you had in the GUI, and then select the virtual machine using the same "vmname cd.

    4. Once you're in the virtual machine, use the ls command and you can view all the files in it

    5. If you need more information on ls you can use the link below

Hope 2 modes above helps you to better...
