• Seeks advice notice on the idea of clear TC that I sell yet still be able to demonstrate that it works.

  I'm selling my Time Capsule and before doing so would erase the content, what do I know will take time. As an electronic device, I expect the buyer to want to see that the functions of TC with Time Machine. Yes, I already backed up all of the content on another external drive.

  I tell myself that I can erase and write on the disc of the day after which leaves me in the morning with a clean drive. Then I could set up a folder on the desktop with a few small, quick to back up files. I would set Time Machine to exclude everything except this on the Time Capsule backup folder. When the person comes to inspect and purchase, I could view the contents of the file, add another file, manually inform Time Capsule to back up and then show that the new file has been saved. Since there would be nothing personal in the folder, I could just trash and the time Capsule would be ready to deliver.

  I am interested in other ideas if this makes no sense. Any tips or advice on my idea?

  I sold a few TC... most people walk at your door... hand, you cash... and take the TC.

  If you have a person who needs, he has demonstrated... forget the help of Time Machine.

  Simply copy a file from your Mac to the Treasury Board.

• Seeking advice for a BT throbbing related question

  Dear Forum,
  I would like your opinion on a performance problem related to the use of BT SW stack.

  * Information *:
  Non-Toshiba notebook, Intel processor dual core @ 1.2 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Windows XP pro (5.1.2600 SP2 Build 2600) running, all updates from MS, computer company, MS Office 2003. I got the PC two months ago and bought separately the "Wireless 360 module Bluetooth USB internal (Toshiba device, VID 413C, PID 8140, firmware 43.15). I installed the module hardware and the software stack of BT (Toshiba BT Stack, version v4.41.02 (D)). I use BT mainly to connect to my mobile phone, for which "Nokia Suite' v6.85.141 is installed. Nokia Suite works fine and as expected using the BT link.

  * Problem *:
  When you open a file de.doc/.xls by double clicking on it in Windows Explorer, the response of the system is very slow. Like 40 seconds (!) to open a 30 KB Word document. It can be reproduced. For other files, such as .pdf, the answer is much better. Word is started via the Start button and using file/open in Word to access the same file are OK. Open Windows Explorer by using the shortcut key Windows-E is very slow, open the Windows Explorer Start menu is normal.
  I don't see any "heavy" disk access or 100% of the CPU during this period.
  For the rest, the laptop seems to run OK.

  * Results so far: *
  (1) re-BT Toshiba battery installation has not improved things
  (2) for the shutdown of the PC, frequently the TosOBEX.exe process must take end 'manually '.
  (3) uninstall the battery BT SW makes him meet normal PC yet once
  (4) turn off Manager BT (System, click right, exit BT icon tray) has the same effect
  (5) judgment of the problematic effect deleted TosBTmng.exe process as well
  (6) from the PC with Microsoft not treat disabled people - except the battery BT - give a normal reactivity (!)

  , I create a document with ID CS5, which includes many small cards wrapped in the text. Here's an example page: http://www.seawead.org/map-button.pdf

  I would like to offer the reader a method for quickly and simply show cards mode full screen and then quickly and easily return to where they were in during playback. I imagine something like a mouse click event with a popup with the full card size that includes a simple X to close and return to the previous point.

  I experimented with some buttons. I created an appendix with maps full-size and tried to plug the small cards for adults via a button, but it seems to be complicated when you try to return to the previous page, in particular with regard to the inherenting the zoom of the playback page, is not the map display page.

  I'm trying to teach me LabVIEW and ended up creating a huge mess to solve a problem. I am trying to create a program that reads voltage analog and produces a waveform on a worksheet.

  My first mistake is that I have a dialog box is displayed constantly asking for me direct the path. This part of coding has been very difficult for me, so I don't know where I was wrong.

  I know that there are probably several questions here, but if someone could point me in the right direction would be great!

  You have opened the file, but you never spent the reference to the function you write to a file.

  The write function opens a dialog box if you have anything plugged into it.

• Uninstalling iTunes took my DVD/CD drive - seeks advice

  Hello. It is on an Acer Aspire 5520-5912 laptop running Vista SP1. Last week, I uninstalled iTunes because I do not use it and I wanted to reclaim the disk space. Since then, my built-in DVD/CD player is not recognized by Windows. It does not appear in computer or iTunes. I tried to / uninstall iTunes 8 several times as well as the latest drivers of gear. I tried the registry changes on the "UpperFilters" key You can see an overview of the current register here:

  Is there anything else I can try? Reformat my PC and install a fresh copy of Windows seem unimaginable today. The drive is an integrated DVD-Super Multi drive. Please help if you can.

• CRM sucks or suck the people using the system? Seeking advice on overcoming our CRM problems.

  We currently use MSCRM.  I hate it.  Our CRM is default, underused and in some cases information is just in complete disrepair.  We need a process in place for data entry.  We need structured data, not only information, but also the format entry.  Perhaps we should an initiative which promotes the corrected data and resets the responsibility on people enter information.  Contacts to write for since Eloqua CRM are not a problem.  Contacts, sales directly entered the CRM are the issue.  Have you had similar problems?  How did overcome you?  How did you use Eloqua to help in this process?  I look forward to all your comments.  Thank you!

  I would say that it is the process and governance that must be addressed. You must build a process and then customize the software around it, rather than taking a software and put in place a process around it.

  in my application (let's call it "MyADFApp"), I created a Java class (let's call it 'Services') which maps simply a C++ application methods (let's call it "Différendsapp") similar to a Web service.

  "Différendsapp" works on the same machine where the "MyADFApp" (works on Glassfish).

  I need to use the 'Services' methos both in the model layer and ViewController so:

  • I imported 'Services' in the AppModuleImpl
  • I created in the AppModuleImpl method for each method of 'Services '.
  • I exposed these new methods of AppModuleImpl for the ViewController
  • I configured class 'Services' to call "Différendsapp" on localhost since it runs on the same computer in 'MyADFApp '.

  In AppModuleImpl, I can call 'Services' methods directly while controlled beans think I call these methods to help

• Beginner seeking advice

  I'm totally familiar with PowerCLI and am looking for guidance.  I support systems in a QA lab.  I have about 60 distributed systems on 4 ESX hosts (some are 4.0, some are 3.5).  I want to do a few reports automated help peformance monitoring and use of the resource.  I came across PowrerCLI while Googling for solutions.  From the little I've read so far, it seems that PowerCLI will do what I need.  I'm not competent enough in the script, well so far, with PowerShell.  I'm sure I can learn to work with PowerShell.

  My questions:

  1. I also came across something called VI, which I think is an another interface script, perhaps an older one.  Is this something that I should continue the investigation?
  2. Are there charges (other than teaching hours) to PowerCLI?
  3. I can see the data currently using vSphere Client.  I do not, however, have store in permissions for the ESX servers.  Is this a problem?
  4. Given my needs and circumstances, if I want above all to gather disk, memory and CPU usage and avaialbilty, is PowerCLI the right tool for the job?

  I'll be grateful for any help to answer these questions or other suggestions.

  I'll try to answer your questions:

  1. As far as I know, VI stands for VMware Infrastructure. This isn't a script interface, but it is the former name of VMware vSphere. There are two other interfaces of script supported VMware for VMware vSphere PowerCLI in addition: "VMware vSphere CLI" and "VMware vCenter Orchestrator. The first is Perl and a replacement for the ESX service console orders who went with ESXi. It also works on Linux and is a good tool for the only Linux shops. The second is a workflow management tool and comes with VMware vCenter Server. As far as I know, it is based on Java.
  2. PowerCLI is free.
  3. If you have rights to a vCenter Server, you can connect PowerCLI to the vCenter Server. Most PowerCLI tasks you can do with a connection to a vCenter server. There are only a few things you need to do with a direct connection to an ESX Server.
  4. IMHO PowerCLI is the right tool for your job.

  There are many examples of scripts to collect the disk, memory and the CPU usage and availability on this forum. If you can't find them or have any other questions do not hesitate to ask.

  Hi all.
  
  I need some tips to know if there is a better way to manage my current situation. As it is, I have a simple textarea that retrieves data from a php query in a mysql database. These data are in the form of text and it contains a variety of things from simple text to url with tags and img with the tags (like < a href... < img src =... etc). It all loads fine and displays correctly, the problem is that if there is an image embedded between text, the text box is trying to cram the text along the right side of the image. I mitigate this problem by inserting manual line breaks IE: < br / > < br / > until I see that there is enough space and the text begins once more under the image.
  
  My question is, is there a better way to handle this? Can I use something else to display the data, etc.? I hope that makes sense, thanks in advance!

  It might be better to put data in a variable, remove the images in the text, then load each in a separate movieclip. You will need to analyze by looking for image tags, etc., but it would be easier to control the layout.

• Update video card: 630i Desktop - need advice

  I have a Dell XPS 630i Desktop 5 1/2 year, which usually is going very well, with enough power for most of the cases.  Recently implemented a 125 GB SSD as drive operating system.

  Anyway, in these last days, we got some random video artifacts appears sporadically on one or two of my two monitors Viewsonic (DVI for both of the Nvidia 9800GT 512 MB video card).  A small section of the screen will have the weird characters, sometimes a bunch of screen Flash, etc.  And a few times that there was a BSOD crash, with the video driver (nvlddmkm.sys) be responsible.

  I tell myself that there must be a bad video card or driver.  I have updated to the pilot the most recent on the Dell site (R213185, 181.30, Vista 64, A04) and well.  But I have this vague feeling that it is a hardware problem.  If it was a driver problem, why now after all these years, he suddenly would be problems, no recent changes to the system, etc..

  I used the tools of diagnosis from Dell, which has tested the performance of the video card, memory, etc, and no errors were detected, which is encouraging.

  Video card drivers can become corrupt and simply uninstall them and their update with a new driver may solve the problem.  It is more likely a hardware problem, a driver problem, even if the 9800 GT is an old map.  If he wasn't pushed hard with the game over the years, then it can last a long time. XPS 630i is a good system and with the Q6600 it is still worthy and can perform very well.  If you were to replace the video card, I'd just get something simple like the GTX 650 HERE, which would exceed the performance of the 9800 GT and not market much.

  By the way: this number XYZ is not so important. Part number of your machine is important. It is PSAG1E for your A300 and the part number is important for the identification of model and correct drivers download.
