  I have a problem that I am trying to solve.

  A friend of mine silly helped me to get a good deal on Lightroom and I discovered a few months later that I was conquered by pirated software [I tried to add a plug-in and he warned me that my show was a false common]. I can't update because obviously, Adobe has blocked the pirated series, which is fine.

  I bought a brand new version of lightroom on Amazon, he received in the mail today, but I can not understand how to change it. Is it possible to change the number of series or uninstall/reinstall with the right software?

  Try to remove all entries from Lightroom in your user preferences folder. Also, delete the record from Lightroom X users / ~ / Library/Application Support/Adobe/folder LIghtroom.

  I had 5 Lightroom on my old computer and was sold as a disc.  I bought a new computer and decided to lightroom on it.  Well this iMac is not a hard drive so I downloaded the latest adobes off-site.  I have my serial number 2 years ago and went to put in it and its too short of 6 numbers.  They lack a 24 digit number, while mine is only 18 years old. I still have my receipt as well as the box and the serial numbers match.

  Also to be sure, I downloaded LR 5.7.1, which is what was on my old computer, so im not sure why it does not work.

  I have 5 Lightroom on my laptop, but I want to use it on my new iMac. I downloaded the version even on my iMac, and now when I am trying to enter my serial number (from my laptop), the 4 last digits are only show as: "xxxx"... it is IM showing me the first 20 digits of the serial number, but not the last 4. Why? Help please!

  Again, I should have looked into it more before posting. At through my emails and found in there when I bought it all first.
