I can still use the printer as a simple printer and copier but cannot use the scan of the Director, electronic mail or other characteristics. The Director window appear just does'nt...

Unable to find any reference to this problem within windows support... Everyone... ?

I can't wait to get into the game of finger, especially because I am not associated with Microsoft somehow, but it's a HP problem and not a problem of "service pack 3".

I don't know the specific answer to your question, but I have the following suggestions.

1. you don't say what "fix" HP suggested.  Was - it: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=oj-46104-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=228&product=351112&sw_lang=
If it wasn't the fix that you tried, I suggest that you download and install.

2. it is not particularly useful, but you can use your scanner without the help of the HP software: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02661093&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=351112#N56

3 uninstall the HP software.  See http://www.out-of-warranty.com/three-ways-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-hp/ , and then reinstall it.  If you do not have the original CD, for the "complete" package download is here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-23606-3&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=228&product=351112&sw_lang=

There are several other updates (they should be integrated in the 'full' software, but you never know), some 'critical', available here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=351112#N191

4. If none of the help above, ask your question in the HP forum - where you can get a useful answer from a user in HP colleague rather than a script reader is boredom of HP support who is quick to blame: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/?category.id=InkJet&lang=en&cc=us
