Services of files in Microsoft Clustering with failover in ESXi 4.1

Helllo,

I have a virtualization environment with 5 hosts ESXi 4.1 on location A and two hosts ESXi 4.1 location B, all with high availability, which is the host 7 ESXi 4.1 are highly available.

I need to set up a file of Microsoft with Failover Clustering in ESXi 4.1

I want to create a file from Microsoft with Failover Clustering with 3 VMs that are 2 VM on a location and 1 VM on site B.

Geographic VM cluster is supported by vmware?

What is the maximum nodes in the cluster in guest virtual machines?

Thank you

jVidalll

Welcome to the community,

Only 2-node MSCS is supported in ESX (i)

Take a look at http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1004617 for links to MSCS documentation.

Today I used VMWare Converter 3.0.3 to convert a file evaluation VHD Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2 (Virtual Server 2005) ESXi 3.5. It seems to work without error. However, I have a pending issue. In other words, based on the results of pilot of "VMware Pointing Device" in my being rooted at the bottom right of the Virtual Console of the mouse. The mouse buttons seem to work, but the mouse itself will not move. I have VMware Tools installed and that you have reinstalled them several times, just in case. If I change the mouse driver to the driver "mouse Compatible PS/2", it works, sort of. It moves around the screen and the same slides perfectly in and out of the console window, as you'd like. However, it is jerky. Hardware acceleration is maximum. The video driver and all the other features seem to work perfectly.

I converted a Windows 2008 VHD and it worked well.

If I do a new installation of Windows 2003, it works perfectly, mouse and all. If the problem seems to be limited to a hard drive Windows 2003 virtual conversion. I don't have a Windows 2003 machine to test if the importation which would have the same bug or not.

A very similar discussion was due in a previous thread several years ago http://communities.vmware.com/thread/36507.

Any help to fix this annoying bug would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Normally uninstall us the services that we believe may conflict with VMware devices (such as mouse), so that these problems do not occur. But just to be sure, it would be nice if you could 'uninstall' as suggested CONTINIUM and see if that makes a difference. An only problem here, is that you will not be able to uninstall the present of the VMware VM and you may need to uninstall this VS VM before proceeding with the conversion.

  • vCenter with Server Clustering with failover Windows - cannot lock the file

    Hi all

I am currently working on a MSCS cluster to vCenter. As described in the "VMware vCenter Server 6.0 availability Guide", it should be possible to add RDM disks for two virtual machines.

If I try to start the second vCenter VM, it throws the error "Could not lock file". For me this message looks like right because the first VM has a lock on the RDM disks. But for clustering, I need two VMS to be connected to the RDM.

Is there something that I missed?

Best regards and thanks for the help.

You are using a SCSI controller dedicated just for the RDM disks and with the bus sharing configured for physical on both nodes? If this is not the case, see page 18.

    Hi all

I have this problem for years and I've always wondered if I did something wrong trying to manipulate scripts.

Like everyone, I got this shortcut: ⇧ CMD 3 or 4 to take screenshots quickly.

Since I don't know when, it no longer works. When I do this combination makes the sound error.

    Hello

    1. which edition of Windows are you using? Is - this edition is 32-bit or 64-bit?

Given that the game is compatible with Windows 7, I suspect that the conflict can be 32-bit or 64-bit architecture.
The link below shows the compatibility of this game with Windows 7.

    Method 1.
We must ensure that the edition of the game must correspond with the operating system.
If you use 64-bit in this game, you need the 64-bit Windows to install it.
    Method 2.
If the above information matching I you recommend to start the computer in clean condition and then try to install the game.
