Session restore saving connection token

When I close Firefox and open it again I am is more connected to my account to Google and it is normal (I ask that my login details not recorded). However if I use the option to restore previous session I logged into my Google accounts. Why is the connection token not expired at the close and is still valid after restoring from a previous session?

This happens even when disabling all add-ons.

Firefox stores cookies used in the tabs that are currently open in the file sessionstore.js as part of the saved session data, so these cookies will be restored if Firefox is closed without first closing of these tabs.

You can set browser.sessionstore.privacy_level 2 (never) or 1 (not HTTPS) on the topic: config page to deactivate the saving of cookies via session restore in the sessionstore.js file.
The browser.sessionstore.privacy_level_deferred pref is used when you do not reopen last session automatically via "show my windows and tabs from last time" and use the same values.

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the profile folder of Firefox that store session data.

Delete the sessionstore.js file possible sessionstore-# .js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

Delete sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and tab groups and opened and closed the tabs (back) to get lost, so you will need to create them again (take note or bookmarks).

  • I can't access my saved connections

Installed Adobe Intel Security TrueKey without my permission. It seems if being arrested me access my passwaords through the Options? Security. I uninstalled the application, but this made no difference. The logins.json file had disappeared from my profile. I went through the procedure to copy a profile previously backed up, but the list of saved connections was still empty. I then tried Firefox update in the hope that this would call zero everything, but still no change. I fear that at some point to try to resolve this I must have forgotten to close Firefox before copying files. Is it possible that I can recover my password?

Have not contacted Adobe yet, but intend to. I do not know previous downloads have always had a box for additional software before you download.

Anyway, I used your link to create a new profile, and it seems to have restored every password I've ever used, not only on that computer. A little blocked when asked my password of Firefox, but obtained from my laptop. Thanks a lot for your help.

  • Disable session restore

So, I had problems with firefox restore my session after I kill with the Task Manager, and his return to the page that did stop responding in the first place, it is possible to completely disable session restore, after all, I didn't use it anyway.

I don't think that there is a simple switch for session restore. What might help, however, is to change what Firefox does start after a crash: instead of immediately to restore all windows and tabs, it can present a screen saying something like "Embarrassing" and listing the windows and tabs, so you can deselect those don't care you, or just start a new session.

If you want to try, here's how:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste sess and make a pause so that the list is filtered

3 double-click the browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes and change the value from 1 to 0 (that's a zero) and OK the change.

In this way, you can still restore the last session at the request (for example, using story > restore previous Session) if necessary, but you will not be forced to do.

  • All tabs are empty after session restore

After clicking on a link to a page that has opened in a new tab, all the tabs in the window of my browser no longer works correctly (i.e. I could not close them, make new tabs or go to the previous page), and the restoration of my session turned into 'new tab' with no way to access their previous content (the number of tabs is the same). See attached image for reference, the Firefox tab is only after session restore. The browser think that he restored the session correctly, as her 'restore previous session' option is greyed out.
Restoration of a backup version of my profile to one of two days folder there are just restores the history recorded, including, 'recently closed tabs' list had not returned to the backup version and shows the tabs that I closed earlier today. These tabs are functioning normally.

You can save session files in the sessionstore-backups folder in the Firefox profile folder to keep possible significant session data.

previous.js (cleanBackup: copy of sessionstore.js from previous session that was loaded successfully)
recovery.js (latest version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
recovery.bak (previous version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
upgrade.js-<build_id> (backup created during an upgrade of Firefox)

You can copy a file in the sessionstore-backup folder to the main profile and rename sessionstore.js file to replace the current file (make a backup of the current sessionstore.js).

The sessionstore.js file is created from recovery.js when you close Firefox and are removed and copied in previous.js when you start Firefox.

  • my previous session restore crashed

my previous session restore crashed because I opened firefox and he did not answer, so I ended its process through the Task Manager, how to restore cache.trashxxxx file in the cache folder so next time I open the Fire Fox my last session opens again?
I tried to copy the content to the hidden folder, but it moves just in a new folder cach.trash

any way to help me?? i had so many important tabs open

Well, before you open/close Firefox again:

Your tabs and windows of session are stored in a file named sessionstore.js, not in the cache.

Use the start menu in Windows, the search box or run it, type or paste the following and press ENTER:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

If you see only a single folder (semi-aleatoric name), click in it and save all these files to a secure location (if you see more than one such folder, check the files into it and save the most recent):

    sessionstore.js
    sessionstore.bak
    sessionstore.bak-datetime

If you find that all numbered files such that the following back, those too:

    sessionstore-1.js

If you do not see the .js extensions, clear the Windows feature that hides them. See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/865219

You will find all the files from the time where you want to restore?

  • How to enable automatic session restore after a crash

I'm trying to enable automatic session restore after a crash. I put browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash to true, but it is false. Is there is a dependency on another parameter that is the cause of return? Or other means to enable automatic crash recovery?

The option 'When Firefox starts' is set to ' show my windows and tabs from last time '. I'm not under any session management extensions.

All browser.sessionstore settings have default values except these:
    Browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo: 500
    Browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo: 100
    Browser.sessionstore.restore_hidden_tabs: true
    Browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash: false

    Thank you!

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe or make changes.

  • I can restore a session when the Session restore fails?

After a kernel panic (I assume that's what it was), I was not able to restore my Firefox session, which had about 5 tabs open with a few dozen URLS to the breast. I'm writing this, there has been more than panic the kernel and Firefox crashes and Firefox allowed me to restore these sessions. However, this is the session that preceded the first accident/panic that holds these tabs I want to restore. Which can be reached?

When I launched Firefox after the first crash, Session Restore window did not offer to restore my previous session, that the list was empty, not showing any tab list.

I tried to search for the files sessionrestore.js and sessionrestore.bak in my system (OS x Lion), but they are not here. By the advice of some google search results, they said that there should be a Firefox folder to library > Application Support > Firefox, but I have no such folder Firefox just Mozilla file, and the js/bak files are not there either.

Finally, I would like to make a backup (a clone) of my HARD drive for a few weeks, in the case which can also be used to help restore my session.

I have included 2 Crash ID below. The first is one of the most recent (05/02/2012). There is indeed a dozen for that date, but it is earlier (in time) of the bunch, so I guess that maybe he'll relate to my first fall, even if that happened yesterday evening (2/14). The second ID is the 2nd most recent crash as of 1/14.

Thanks for any help you can provide on this issue.

    Hi keeopac,

Can you be a little more descriptive? Are you talking about the previous session restore point that you see if you type Subject: House in the address bar?

If this is the case, you could just make www.google.com your homepage. You can find steps on changing the home page in the Knowledge Base How to set the home pagearticle.
