Set the thumbnail display of new tab homepage

I want a new window to open with the thumbnails of my favorite sites.

I've implemented the "Home Page" option with "subject: newtab ' and I'm sure that it worked until a few days ago.

I already searched the knowledge base and checked the settings "topic: config" suggested in other topics (http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/931476) and that they are correctly placed.

My machine
I have an old macbook with 2 system boots 2008: Leopard and Snow Leopard. I'm sure that this setting works fine on both and now he is not on the boot of Leopard. I know, this operating system is not supported, but I put the ' topic: newtab ' AFTER the last update that notified the system is no longer supported.

Since then, I have not installed any extension or theme: the browser is a stock with the last update of the possible.

Thanks for the comments.
No I didn't have just a blank page, no button or anything.

Turns out that also on my second boot (Snow Leopard) I suddenly lost the thumbnails on the homepage.

I was able to recover if: I have just to have a "blank Page" in settings (via the button in the pane), closed settings, reopened the window and the value "on: newtab ' and now I have thumbnails back.

I would say that was caused by an update of the OS or Firefox, but Firefox on Leopard does not update more and Leopard either.

"The nature of the lack of the new tab should be without a doubt, opening to what the user has defined for its home page".

You are entitled to your opinion on that, but Mozilla feels differently about what the default should be for the new tab.

My opinion [that does not count be] is that it would be ridiculous to have all of the users 'Homepage' to be the default value for the page tab. You can't, that's why I suggested the modules above. There is no option in the user interface or preferably hidden in Firefox that can duplicate a tab whenever you open a new tab browser.newtab.url can only be set to a fixed address, what address is to be opened in the current tab.

Are the only two built-in methods to duplicate a tab:

    1. Hold down the Option key and drag the tab to a new position on the tab bar.
    2. Hold down the command key and click the reload of the address bar.

Since the last update my new tabs open to home.brandthunder.com/?newtab instead of the blank page that he used. I downloaded the add-on newtaburl and set it to the Virgin, but it always opens on this page. How to return to the blank page?

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance/themes).

    • Open the topic: config page through the address bar and do a search for brandthunder via the filter at the top of the about: config page.
    • Reset all the brandthunder associated prefs which appear "BOLD" (user set) via the context menu to their default values.

  • When I open the thumbnail images in another tab they are pixelated, what's the problem?

When I go to a website with pictures they are pixelated. Placing the cursor over each image the gives me the ability to press 'alt' and 'r' to refresh the image or 'alt' and 'a' and refersh the entire page. When I open an image of thumbnailed in a new tab, if yes or no I refreshed the page or the image beforehand, the image is pixelated and I can not 120 Hz it. What is going on?

    This has happened

    Each time Firefox opened

Looks like you are using a dial-up with a 'Accelerator' connection If this is the case, it's a feature of this ISP web accelerator. They accelerate the loading by initially providing lower quality images and giving you the option of loading the original image, full resolution in their cache with shortcuts for the page. Other ISPS with a web Accelerator feature using elements of context menu, which are added to Firefox via an extension installed in Firefox.

Insofar as not having is not able to load the image quality when you open it in a new tab, I don't know why that option does not appear. You must contact your ISP support for questions on this issue.

  • Clear HOWTO #{securityContext.authenticated} when the user opens a new tab in the browser

    Hello world

I use a template for my ADF Application, so I make the application menu depending on whether the user is authenticated or not, if the menu is not displayed in the login page and use a common template for all my pages:

    rendered = "#{SecurityContext.Authenticated} '"

My problem is that the value remains, so I would like to know what is best practice to turn it off when the user opens a new tab, or maybe my approach is quite wrong?

    Thanks experts!

    Hello

I changed the method, so I give the menu according to a 'login' property in a managed bean:

    If (currentPage.contains ("login")) {}

  • MouseWheel will not open the link in a new tab

I used to be able to click on a link with my mousewheel and Firefox opens the link in a new tab. It has stopped working.

I use Windows 7 Pro and Firefox 36.0.1

Should what settings I check. Windows looks OK, I use the same mouse and it has stopped working on web sites where this technique used to work until a few days ago.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
  • Since the upgrade of my new tab does not work, I press on the + icon and nothing

Since the upgrade of my new tab does not work, I press on the + icon and nothing

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that disables certain parameters, disables most Add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

    • In previous versions of Firefox, click on the Firefox button in the upper left of the Firefox window and click help (or click on help in the Menu bar, if you do not have a Firefox button) and click on restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. Please follow the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

  • How to clear all the tiles in a new tab?

I don't check the thumbanils in a new tab for a long time, and now there are a lot of these in my history, my question how I clear without clicking on the X mark yet another on all the world?

You can drag an item of bookmark or history on each of the 9 tiles.
If you visit the link and have it in the cache, then you should get a sticker in it.

You can change the order of the boxes on the subject: newtab page and drag an item on a tile that is different to pin in this position or you can remove a Web site by clicking on the close X to block this URL.
You can drag a bookmark or history item and drop them in a tile on the subject: newtab page to pin them and have your own sites showing favorites.

Changes manually on the subject: newtab page are stored in the browser.newtabpage.pinned (default = [null]) and pref browser.newtabpage.blocked you can check/change on the about: config page.

Thanks for posting the details of your system. I'm skeptical about the "CompTool0234 Community Toolbar". Could you disable some add-ons and see if that helps.

    On this tab:

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Plugins category

    Disable «Conduit Plugin»

    On this tab:

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category

    Disable the CompTool0234 community toolbar.

Then very probably a link will appear to restart Firefox to make the change. Does make a difference?

  • CTRL-SHIFT-click to open the link in a new tab (v10)

I came back to Firefox recently after trying to use Chrome for a while. I welcome my return, except that in the update of v9 to v10, I found one of my favorite keyboard shortcuts no longer work as he had.

In v9 and precedent, Ctrl-Shift-click opens a link in a new tab and switched to it immediately. V10, Ctrl-Shift-click still opens the link in a new tab, but does not pass, even with Options: tabs: when I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately enabled.

When you use the mouse to open a link in a new tab, it switches on it immediately as expected.

I thought I was going to have to live with it (or not), but then to find some documentation noting that Ctrl-click now offers the functionality I was used to.

Great! However, backward compatibility with old features could save me some temporary disappointment and some additional research.

BTW, I noted in another post several of the reasons why I returned to Firefox from Chrome.

Two key combinations seem to work in Firefox 8, 9. and 10 for me.

Change when I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately from disabled to enabled reverse functions {Ctrl + click} and {Ctrl + Shift + click}.
