set up the network on xp

I have problems setting up printer sharing on my Windows XP desktop.  Office XP is connected by an ethernet cable.
My computer laptop windows 7 to connect via a wireless connection and I have problems with the printer share.  The printer is connected to the computer to Office XP and is set up for sharing.  The working group names are defined identically for desktop and laptop.  Any contributions to this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I finally got the laptop win 7 to recognize the printer that was connected to the XP desktop.  After doing some research, I found a post that said that I would need to change a registry entry for the DCHPnode.  After following the instructions so that everything works well.

    Did you change in the computer before this problem?

    I have a new all-in-one Canon Pixma MG5320. I am unable to get the installer to finish with on "setting up the network printer down." Despite numerous attempts to:

    (1) download the driver on the internet instead of the installation CD.
    2) with the help of msconfig with selective startup and disabled all programs except Microsoft.
    (3) creates the new administrator account and returned through it all.
    (4) turned off firewall and anti-virus
    The error is compatible and I never have the unit set up under devices and printers. The installation is carried out without any errors marked and you will see the error if you get into the details of setting up and get him. The computer sees the printer when it finds and he answers. The printer and the router, both seem to be communicating correctly. Repair auto and troubleshooting programs I ran as fix - it do not detect errors. The printer works fine through a USB cable. I don't want to continue to use USB because that's why I wanted to go wireless. I'm sure that I forget some of the things I went through in my attempts to get this working. Anyone with any ideas or know what's going on please help.

    Hello

    Maybe this can help.
    Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted
    Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

    When you have finished the configuration of the system, it is recommended to restart everything the router and all computers involved.

    -------------

    If you have authorization and security problems, check the following settings.

    Point to a folder that wants to share do right click and choose Properties.

    In the properties

    Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.

    This screen shot is to Win 7, Vista menus are similar.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/permission-security.jpg

    The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.

    When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).

    * Note . The groups and users listed in the screen-shoot one

    Re just one example. Your list will focus on how your system is configured.

    ** Note . There must be specific users. All means all users who already have an account now as users. This does not mean everyone who feel they would like to connect.

  • Eclipse plugin Simulator - how to set up the network

    Hi I installed Blackberry JDE Eclipse plug-in successfully. My test app works fine on Simulator until he tried to open an HTTP connection to a URL (a real web address like www.google.comor localhost):

    Here's the code I used:

    S StreamConnection = null;
    Try

    {

    s = (StreamConnection) Connector.open (getUrl ());

    HttpConnection httpConn s = (HttpConnection);

    State int = httpConn.getResponseCode ();

    }

    So my question is how to set up the simulator so that it can open the connection to the network.

    Of BlackBerry MDS Simulator is packaged and installed with the plugin Eclipse and can also be downloaded separately if necessary. You can configure to start the MDS Simulator with your simulator of aircraft in debug/run dialog box. • HP 8660 hard crash when you try to set up the network

    So, the strangest thing happened to my all-in-One printer, apparently without me even not touching.

    We have changed our ISP and had to spend our routers/wireless modems in our apartment. It is - of course - our printer drop the connection to the network - no surprise.

    So the big weird thing is, when I now try to establish a connection to our new network, our hardcrashes printer and needs a reboot (ie. on / turn off the) to the same function again.

    When it crashes I get a brief error message VERY (less than one second - white letters on a BSOD background), after which all the LED lights on the printer starts flashing and the screen tells me that the printer must be powered on/off voltage.

    The code (I tried to catch in the less-than-per-second duration is shown) is: B8409490

    When the printer is connected by wire (LAN), everything works like a charm. Using the copy function works fine as well. But since a cable solution is exactly what we were looking for, any input as to what the problem could be is greatly appreciated!

    PS:

    I tried to reset the settings and the use of the factory through the hidden «menu factory» reset Problem persists.

    Hi Diojr,

    Thanks for your reply and information!

    I'm sorry to see that you receive the error message when you try to connect to your network. I see the wired connection works fine. I noticed that you have already tried a factory reset and the same problem persists.

    If you haven't already done so, I suggest updating the firmware, and then try to reconnect to your network (wireless).

    Please let me know how it works for you!

  • not able to set up the network

    I have a Vostro 200 C2D E4500 2 .2GHz ST.  I am running Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 2.  I am trying to swap with a different professional Dell of the window.  I got this computer on a network before.  On the new PC, I am unable to get it to the network.  I can go on the internet.  I use a Linksys Wireless-G USB Adapter on the new computer.  I use a router Belkin Wireless G Router.  I lived the installation without success.  I can't recognize the other PC.  Can someone give me some ideas?

  • Set up a home network on a Vista computer. Added my XP computer on the network. I can go on the internet but the signal strength is 'very low' 98% of the time.

    I used a d-link WBR-1310 Wireless G router to set up the network on my Vista computer.  On my XP computer, I used an adapter G USB 2.0 Wireless d-link WUA-1340.  Both computers are single room apart and most of the time, the doors are open, so there is no major obstacle to interfere with the signal.  This is my first experience on the implementation of a network and I must admit I was a little unsure of myself.  I don't know if I have some incorrect settings or if the problem may be something else.  It is a WEP secure network but I don't think that's the problem.  My XP computer on the network automatically signs as soon as it starts.  I am trying to download the LLTP from Microsoft on my XP machine, but I don't know if this could be the problem.  I've been struggling with this problem for almost 4 weeks and I'm getting very frustrated.

    PLEASE, I WELCOME ANYONE WITH AN IDEA OF WHAT I HAVE DONE WRONG, TO ANSWER!

    I'm sorry, but I read your post and I do not understand what the problem is you want to solve.  Is something that does not properly?  If so, please give us the details: what you're trying to do, what happens when you do that, the text of the error messages, etc.

  • How to set up/configuration of the network on virtual servers?

    We just bought the license for vSphere with two processors. I will put up at least three virtual servers on that host computer. Can someone point me to an instruction step by step on how to set up the network so that each guest operating system will have their own unique IP address and/or MAC address? The server is an HP Proliant DL380 G7 with two NIC standard more map of the ILO.

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    MAC address of the virtual machine is generated by ESXi host when you first power on the virtual machine and the IP address will be assigned by an existing DHCP server or you can configure it manually. Regardless of the implementation of a server as a virtual or physical machine, you generally EF static IP settings to a server system.

  • How can I find the network key for my home network?

    I have just purchase a new laptop and access the internet via my home network. The new laptop wonder the network key. Where can I find that on my computer at home?  I had someone else set up the network for me.

    The network key or WEP/WPA key, you should be able to find on your router or access point.  Open your browser and type the IP address of your router to access wireless and search of WEP security or the protection of the network area.  Quite a few routers/access points are configured as 192.168.0.1, that intellectual property then give it a shot in your browser by default.  If it is by default, the name of user/pass is always likely admin/admin or admin and then empty password.

    I hope this helps!
  • Cannot turn off or disable password protected sharing the network and sharing Center

    I'm trying to turn some pretty simple sharing of files between our windows PC (two portable minicomputers running under XP, a desk and a laptop running vista). File sharing functions between the XP computers. However, I am simply unable to influence the "password protected sharing setting" in the network and sharing Center. I check the option to turn it off and I get a click through UAC dialog window, the mouse cursor turns for a short time while as if windows is pretending to do something, but the password protected sharing setting is always on.

    I tried to disable Avira Antivir.

    I enabled the guest account and set its password to a string explicitly empty with net user guest «»

    Nothing helps.

  • E4200 PC connects to the router and the network home and says its connected to the internet but wont

    Hello

    I have an E4200 and upgraded to the Cloud Connect. But when I go to use google chrome or internet explore it just won't connect to the internet.  Has anyone already experienced this? It does not work either if it's a wired or a wireless connection, it was fine before the upgrade downgrade and following. It is on this desk that I installed and uninstalled cloud connection thew.  I know enough to set up the network, but when it does not work... .so I'm lost for what to do. Help, please!

    I did a restore of the system to a point before I upgraded to Cisco Connect Cloud, and that did the trick. Thank you for your willingness to help. All is well now.

  • Separate the networks on a Modem, two routers

    Using a Linksys E2000 Linksys WRT54GL (all two funniest newest firmware), I am setting up the network 'A' and 'B' on a modem. I don't want either A or B to be able to see each other for reasons of security. Both are secure wireless network for connections and have different SSID.

    After researching online and being able to find my exact question answered, that's what I did and let me know if Miss me something to keep A and B completely separated. Alternatively, if I did everything what is problem on my network.

    1 router - "A" main network with the combo of Wi - Fi or cable (wired connection through a switch 16 ports):

    Linksys E2000 - connected to the cable modem, 16 switch port connected to the LAN port

    Automatic IP DHCP w / from 192.168.2.100

    Secure wireless, WPA2 Personal, "SSID1.

    This network 'A' must be the safer of the two (wired and wireless)

    2nd router - "B" secondary, all wireless network:

    Linksys WRT54GL - WAN port connected to the LAN of the E2000 port

    Changed to LAN IP 192.168.2.1

    Automatic IP DHCP w / from 192.168.2.200

    Secure wireless, WPA2 Personal, "SSID2."

    I have disabled the ability to change settings using the Wi - Fi connection on both routers.

    Comments, suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

  • Ad Hoc network. even if the network is active and is connected to the internet my devices cannot connect and then the network shuts down.

    I'm living in a college dorm and only have access to the internet via a hard line to my computer. So I wanted to give my other accessibility of consumer electronics set up an Ad-Hoc network and share the internet connection. When I originally set up the network it works fine, but after the devices go to sleep or I leave the room it stops working. I had problems to keep the internet connection to share continually, which I fixed it. I then had a DHCP problem with the hard line that has been resolved through troubleshooting function. Now, even if the network is active and is connected to the internet my devices cannot connect and then the network shuts down.

    Is there a way to create an Ad Hoc network that works similar to a wireless router, so when my computer is turned, it works automatically? If so, how can I make this happen without these problems?

    Hello

    I suggest to activate temporarily the antivirus as well as windows firewall and check if it helps.

    Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Disable the anti-virus software
