Setting the screen brightness problem

I have a HP pavalion G6 2226tu under warranty. I upgraded the operating system Windows Windows 8.0 to 8.1 before 10 days.

After upgrade, I am not able to adjust the brightness of the screen. The function F2 and F3 keys do not work. Even after downloading the drivers for keyboard, these keys do not work.

Can you help me??

Nikhil

Hello

Download and install the latest driver from Intel HD graphics for your laptop on the link below.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp63501-64000/sp63753.exe

When the installation is complete, restart the computer and let Windows load fully before checking if you can adjust the brightness.

Kind regards

Normal for thie keys Fn + F7 to increase brightness and Fn + F6 to decrease. But the different laptop models use different key combinations, so I would check your user manual to see which ones is correct for your laptop.

  • Windows 7 is not supported (the screen brightness problem)?

I called Lenovo technical support to see if they had a solution for unable darken the screen in Windows 7.  The suport person told me to load the most recent drivers.  I did and then recalled with my file number.  I told them that the suggestion did not work (I knew he wouldn't).

The guy asked me if I had received the update of Win 7 from Lenovo, and I said, 'no, I bought Windows 7 and installed this version.

Finally, when he realized that he couldn't help me, he told me that they couldn't give me more help because I had loaded "unsupported software.  Apparently, they believe Windows 7 (if not received Lenovo) 'no software support!

    Hello

You must install VAP and Support of Flash Card Utility for the FN keys works!
Installation of VFR will not help you if you should not install Flash memory card Support utility.

As far as I know, these two tools are not phone specific, so you can choose the VAP and the published Flash card for example utility for Satellite L500!

I did it on my laptop and it worked fine!

  • On the P750-13D Satellite screen brightness problem

    Hello world

I have a portable Satellite P750-13D. My problem is; When I press FN + F7, the brightness of the screen decreases.
However, when I press FN + F6, increases the brightness of the screen. Thus, he works in an opposite way.

What should I do to solve the problem?

    Thank you.

    Very strange problem.
Are you using the original pre-installed OS that you got with your laptop?
Have you noticed this behavior from the first day?

As a general rule I don t hear big problem. I imagine that you use different powers and for each plan power plans, you can set certain level of brightness. Using FN + F2 keys you can change the profiles of power and brightness level too.

  • Satellite L670 - looking on the screen BRIGHTNESS and volume display

Hello. I have a Satellite L670 and I m looking for the on-screen display of the volume and BRIGHTNESS.

It is the first of my laptop which seems to offer not to display these key elements and it is very sinuous to find the standard 3 + 4 for the volume keys and F6 + F7 for brightness, especially in an environment dark.

Before this Toishiba had a few DELL Latitude and Inspiron Laptops and my wife uses a Samsung and had all this laptop-screen computers or the possibility of opening the display of the volume on fn + arrow keys.

Please excuse my English. Maybe someone can understand my problem anyway ;-)

    CU, Sascha

    Hello

What you want to say no to the display screen?

Different laptops have different combination of FN keys. On Toshiba laptops, you can change the display by pressing FN + F6/F7 and on other laptops, you have other F - keys for this. There is no standard for these FN keys.

Usually, if you press the FN key only you should see at the top of the screen flash cards. You see them?

  • Satellite U840-10V - screen brightness problem

    Hello
I own a U840-10V laptop and I have a little problem with my screen brightness from the first day I got it.
The fn keys work correctly. When I press the button Fn + F2 or F3 I see small panel brightness adjustment, but values 1,2,3,5,6 and 7 (except 4) seem to have the same level of brightness (the 4th is darker).

(I had problems with my backlit keyboard as well, but when I reset the defaults in the bios it worked perfect...)

so is that what someone knows how can I fix?

I reinstalled the PVAT to a newer version which was suitable for my laptop and windows7 - 64 bit, on the toshiba support site, but I haven't worked out.

so if anyone can help me I would love...

    Thank you...

    > I have a little problem with my screen brightness from the first day I got it.
    Which is really strange.
It works correctly when you change the brightness level in the plan directly to settings?

  • Satellite L300 - after restarting the screen brightness is the highest level once again

    Hello!

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L300-215.

Just installed Windows XP I went to keen on Vista. In any case I ve downloaded all the XP drivers on the Toshiba site. Everything works perfectly except the brightness level.

When I start my laptop to the top of the screen is at its maximum brightness that I then use the function hotkey special "FN and f6" to turn down the brightness of the screen. However once I have disable my laptop then restart it, the brightness goes back to the maximum level again...
Any ideas how I could prevent the brightness that goes back to max?

I read that it s a particular order I should install the utilities and drivers from the Toshiba website for windows XP?
The ideas and help in what order?

    See you soon

    Hello

In your case, I'd install the Toshiba Power Saver. This Toshiba tool is really great because set you the brightness of the screen for different profiles (full power, normal, etc.) and there you can adjust the brightness of the screen. In addition, you can change the method of cooling, the performance of the processor and to this day.
    Check it!

You can download the energy on the Toshiba page saver. I also have a Satellite L300 with Windows XP and everything works perfectly.

Here's the order of installation for Toshiba tools, they control the FN keys, etc. :
    Toshiba Common modules
    TOSHIBA Hotkey Utiliy
Utility Toshiba Touchpad on / off
    Toshiba Utilities
    TOSHIBA Power Saver
    Toshiba Assist
    Toshiba controls
