• Access files outside the web root?

  Hello, everyone.

  Hypothetical scenario.

  I wanted to have a file that would set globally accessible variables to contain passwords, and I want to put this file outside the web root, so that users can not access.

  Logical pathnames of course won't work.  And the cfinclude tag doesn't use physical paths.

  I've never done this before.  What are my options?

  Almost all your CFML files should not be in a directory web-driven!  That those people really are looking for should be accessible web.

  Files must not be accessible to be web - ed or be instantiated as objects, or used as a custom tag.

  FOR EXAMPLE:

  C:\webapps\myapp<= this="" dir="" is="" the="" root="" as="" far="" as="" coldfusion="" is="">

  C:\webapps\myapp\wwwroot<= that="" dir="" is="" the="" webroot="" as="" far="" as="" the="" web="" server="">

  C:\webapps\myapp\includes<= files="" you="">

  C:\webapps\myapp\api<=>

  The only things that should be dir wwwroot files people really browse (index.cfm, etc.) and components such as images, JS and CSS files that must be served to the browser.

  Most of your CFM files must be in a subdirectory of C:\webapps\myapp.

  So index.cfm must be traveled, and it must use the data in secretSecureStuff.cfm which is in understand this respectively.  Then index.cfm is just:

  include "/ myapp/includes/secretSecureStuff.cfm";

  If the file to include is not in the structure of subdirectory myapp for some reason, you can create a mapping in CFAdmin or Application.cfc to point to it, for example:

  /External. => C:\stuff\somewhere\else

  And you référenceriez C:\stuff\somewhere\else\outside.cfm via:

  include "/ external / outside.cfm";

• How to access a CFC outside the web root

  I need to access several of the CFCS that are sitting outside the web root, however, I can't seem to find the right way to call the component.  For example... My Flex project is located in a folder under the web root.  My CFC sit in a folder at the same level as the web root.

  To illustrate:

  The web root is c:\coldfusion8\wwwroot

  CFCS are in a folder c:\coldfusion8\com

  A CFC that I need to access is named fxCFC and is located at c:\coldfusion8\com\fxCFC.cfc

  The Flex project is named fxProject and is located at c:\coldfusion\wwwroot\fxProject

  The application is called main.mxml and resides in c:\coldfusion\wwwroot\fxProject\src\main.mxml

  I can't call the CFC using "com.fxCFC" as my compiled application cannot see the component.  I guess that since the CFC to sit above the root.  Is there a way I can access?

  Man I feel so stupid, I forgot the option in the remoting-config. XML which allows you to turn on the mappings.

• WVC210 DYDNS AND PROBLEMS WITH ACCESS TO THE WEB

  I have 2 Configuration for WVC210 cameras on dydns of deleted I can't see them on the web. I can access via the local network using the ip address and port or the dyndns name and port. The router has listed as a virtual server and I even put one of them is like DNZ (outside the firewall of the router), the port check tools show a port opened from a remote location. And I can ping. But I can't connect to the camera. Also, I was able to view a WVC54GCA camera with the same configuration. Any ideas?

  I can get both of these cameras no problem... just not able to connect but the login box comes right to the top as soon as I hit him enter after you put the URL...

  Please excuse my lack of intelligence on the issue, because I've never worked with before Director.  I try to know what I have to do to play a game of Director online, or if it's even possible.  The story continues,

  One of my friends has created a full-scale educational game using Director a year ago.  The inention had the final product placed via file exe on a CD and then sell the CD people at conventions.  The program received excellent responses to the conventions, but lets face it, selling CDs limits your buyers.  In order to increase sales, he wants to make the game playable online.  Where people can just go to a website and play like any normal flash game today.

  Is it possible to do without redoing his game all in Flash?  The game is a big enough size, and we're talking about probable thousands for everything have remade in flash.  The game features a database to track the progress of the children if it makes a difference.

  Really, most of the xtras are not shockwave safe.  Everything which relates to access to the contents of the local machine (like BuddyAPI, FIleIO, etc.) cannot be shockwave safe for security reasons.  And many xtra develops all simply did not bother to make their xtras for shockwave.  The best way to find out if it works is simply try it and hope.  There will be on 'Manager undefined' error messages when you try to use an xtra script which is not supported.

  Of course, you will need to make adjustments to cope with the changes of the database... It will be not readable on a CD or the local computer.  You can put it on the internet and allow everyone to access it.  You can easily use php with MySQL to do everything you need.  Director features getNetText() controls and postNetTest() that allow you to communicate with PHP scripts on the web.

  Hi all, sorry for taking the trouble,.

  I finally found the solution after several days of reflection and try.

  It is, when you select a value in the select list is not to update the current row of the iterator.

  Only, I've defined the current line of my iterator (mapped to the first list) parent according to the selected code in the list and update the second list like this:

• How to set up two different sites with a section that has the same content?

  I have two sister sites, each a separate but related Department in a hospital. Each of these Web sites, I have a main tab called library, which has about 30 pages it contains for related health issues. The library is the exact same content on each site, but the main navigation and the header of the site is obviously different. I have been maintaining this same content on both sites (if something is changed, then I must do it twice). It is not effective, and I would like to find a way to combine them somehow. I don't have a ton of experience, but I catch pretty quickly and I basically need ideas for the best way to handle this. I considered creating a third-party site, and the Library tab on each of the other sites would take you to this new site. I also wondered if there is a way to integration of duplicate content to two different pages (perhaps with an iframe). In this way I would update the original file, and it would be updated on both sites.

  The sites also have different sizes. It is 960 pixels wide and the other is 690 because it has a sidebar that makes it smaller. How would you recommend all that I manage that? I use Dreamweaver CS6 and my pages are all HTML

  Because the sites are on separate areas, I'm not sure you can use set includes in this situation.

  Iframes would be the way to go. You just save the content iframe on one of your sites and link page to two pages.

• need help: enter the flash file in Dreamweaver site with dark background

  Hello
  I entered a SWF in a site dreamweaver with a dark blue background. When you view the site in a browser, there is a white square (the size of the flash file) which flashes for one second before the file begins to load. It is rather ugly and I was wondering if anyone knew how to avoid this white square of flashing to the top.
  I tried already to make the bottom of dark blue table and adding a dark blue square as a background image, but that didn't make a difference.

• LoginName and paswords are no more saved locally (Windwos 8) how can set Firefox to keep loginnames with password for some Web sites

  for example. If I start Google mail.
  Before I could juist click on the user name to display a list of usernames on the system with corresponding passoword (shown with asteriks).
  Now with firefox and windows 8 I always type in my gmailadres and password. The system never aks more if she has to save these settings

  I found a fair solution by setting "always remember the history. If you restart firefox input usernames and passwords, you receive the question to save.

• Can I use DreamWeaver Sites to connect to the HR server?

  I was wondering if anyone is using DreamWeaver for creating HTML topics, then posting them on a RoboHelp Server. I tried implementing a site in DW, using FTP and WebDAV options to try to connect to the remote server in HR, but failed.

  Using Dreamweaver in itself, is not a problem when creating topics to include in a HR project. However, you don't say if you create with Dreamweaver in the context of the RoboHelp customer editing environment. No matter how you create your HTML topics, you need to import into your HR project or set up HR to use Dreamweaver it is a built-in default editor. Then when your HR project is ready, you can publish this content on the RoboHelp Server. You can't just copy or FTP content to RoboHelp Server. This is a database server application and the client application to RoboHelp is required to prepare the necessary files to make them compatible. That's why you publish HR client application.

• I tried several times to set up an email account with Thunderbird, but the next time I start the computer and start Thunderbird, no account is displayed.

  I bought a new desktop PC with Win 8.1 and installed Firefox and Thunderbird.
  Then, I tried to set up the e-mail account manually (in IMAP) following the instructions here: https://support-en.upc-cablecom.ch/app/answers/detail/a_id/22 , but can't set the mail server outgoing smtp correctly (I could receive mail but not send them). Subsequently, I deleted this account. Then, I started the automatic mail with UPC Cablecom under the http://www.upc-cablecom.ch/content/dam/www-upc-cablecom-ch/Support/executables/upc-cablecom-email-assistant.exe link tool and he did successfully set up the account, however, because a POP3 server account. As I was not happy with it, I deleted the server of incoming POP3 mail (and lost the e-mails received, of course...) and retried a manual installation. In doing so, I got an e-mail account IMAP incoming more two outgoing SMTP server (comparing them, I also understand the configuration error that I had done the first time). I then deleted the manual as SMTP server the automatically the installation server worked correctly.
  In this context, accepting them and sending E-mail worked OK. However, the next time I started the computer, the e-mail account disappeared and Thunderbird was asked to set up a new account again. I have successfully set up manually once more, but the same problem resurfaced at the next startup, the e-mail account was gone...!
