Setting up Oracle Net two standby instances running on the same server
Hello everyone.
I have 3 physical servers in the production environment.
Two of them are primary having Oracle GI + DB 11.2.0.4 + ASM of work / server and the third has two instances of corresponding Eve working on top of the GI + ASM.
These two primary servers to communicate easily using the links in the database and corresponding tns records, but I'm a little confused about measures associated with having two instances
in collaboration with the other in the event that both of these instances of sleep becomes work as primary.
Please notify
Yes, you are right. All the links in the source database are copied to the wait. If your databases on hold are active DG, you can check (select * from dba_db_links).
Ideally in your case when Standby is converted to write - you don't need to change the link of database, but adding entries with correct name tnsnames.ora will correct the problem.

Pradeep

How can I create a cluster of two instances that are running on the same server?
Hello
I can't find how to create a cluster or even a rule of failover for my two instances that are running on the same server ODSEE 11 GR 1 material.
Could you please help?
Thank youHello
Clustering (intended as Sun Cluster, Veritas Cluster, etc...) IS NOT supported since 7.0:http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E20295_01/PDF/821-1216.PDF [page 20]
and, according to my own experience, is the WORST way to achieve high availability of Service LDAP directory and in a way almost CONCEDED for replication problems in your topology (lock, split, re-init, etc...).
Please use the "application level" collection that you get out of the box with the multimaster replication.

How to get firefox 4 to allow two separate processes run at the same time.
I'm used to be able to run two separate processes of firefox and so also run two separate user profiles at the same time as well. But I recently moved to firefox 4 and windows 7 and the other, or these two prevents the old method, I used to work. Basically I was running firefox (via 'run' or via an edited shortcut) with the following executable:
p - profilename - noremoteAnd it would launch a separate process that runs under the profile name. Is it possible to do this with firefox 4 and win7?
I am a developer (web and desktop applications) and it is highly preferable to do so. One of the reasons is that, if one of the processes one falls, the other is fine. Another is to have separate profiles so that addons with leaks of memory, like firebug, can be run in its own process and I can restart when I have to without affecting other processes. I sometimes also need to set the processor affinity so that a process of firefox is not a big eater.
Any help would be appreciated. The correct format for this command is -no-remote

ASIC can run on the same server/db like EBS (R12.1)
Hello
We have an EBS (R12.1) environment and intend to use the CPSA. I've seen environments where the CAWC runs in its own environment/database, etc. and connects to an instance of the EBS. Which is the only type of available configuration or can CAWC run fully within an environment of EBS/instance on the same server? If so, what are the consequences of such a configuration, for example on the performance.
Thank you
NAT.
Hi Nat,
ASIC can be configured in two ways:
1 centralized - where the EBS and VCP reside on the same application server.
2 decentralized - where the EBS and CRS are on two different application servers.
Basically the motor nucleus of CPSA of planning does all the planning in the memory of the application server (and not in the database). This planning process is highly require a lot of resources (memory) and requires a huge memory (according to the data, the type of plan and many other factors). If the application servers are not the right size, this led to the poor performance of the application. And if both the planning and EBS reside on the same server, there are possibilities that you slow the global treatment through the functions of the company. That's why decentralized architecture is preferred, where the planning process running on another remote computer of your EBS and it didn't there in not affecting transactional modules.
Beyond that, you have the ease of maintenance in terms of correction, update, addition of multiple of VCP modules, if you're on a decentralised architecture.
Centralized architecture is also not rare. Many companies run their planning and EBS on a single machine.
I hope that the above gives you a point of view, using which you can choose what suits your business best!
Kind regards

Several Agents running on the same server ODI
Is it possible to run several ODI Scheduler Agents simultaneously on the same server?
As provide us the name of the repository work in file params ODI and if we have different reference works
and we want to run schedular agent on the same server, how can point us the other custodian of the work.
We need to create another installation of files of the ODI agent on the same server?
Thank you
KashiHey Kashi.
You don't have to install a separate files of the Agent again. What you need to do is to make sure that each game agent has all the required parameter files that included, the odiparams.bat, the agentstart.bat and the agentstop.bat (names can not be exactly the same). Here is a site that gives you more details on creating multiple agents on the same server

Two virtual machines running at the same time
Fussion 1.0, I remember being able to use two virtual machines at the same time, and each me each own IP without worrying if I used the bridged network configuration or address NAT. With the Version 2.0.1 (128865), only one will get an IP address and the other, the two XP SP3, visit account disabled NETWORK card. Any recommendations?
Yes, it's tru, but I updated the vmx file to have another MAC. NIC I get this error when I try to boot the secondary machine (which otherwise boots fine solo).
As I mentioned in the linked post, there are several unique identifiers that MAC address. Fusion has a UUID, and Windows has a SID. All must be unique (my guess is that it's the SID).
The network bridge on/dev/vmnet0 of the device does not work.
Which will result in network bridge does not work. The only suggestion I have right now is to try to restart the host, but demand around other people seem to be seeing this as well.

FMS 4.5 can be run on the same server as Cpanel?
I'm looking to use the FMS 4.5 to the penetration of the RTMP stream and publish HTTP Live streams on a content distribution network. I see that FMS 4.5 has a version of apache to make the part http, we have two dedicated servers running Cpanel/WebHost Manager litely loaded.
(1) could reach us using the apache owned by Cpanel?
(2) or, the FMS has's own apache using port 80?
Thank you
Thank you! I'll check

A limit to the reentrant instances run using the VI server and asynchronous call?
I have an application that attempts to launch many incoming preallouees clones using the server of VI with asynchronous call to start. I find that it seems to be an upper limit on the amount of clones that can be run by using this method. 26 Nations seem to run and then in addition more clones are laid but they seem to be just sitting here do not run. I confirmed this behavior by all launch on the performance front panels.
Is there something I'm missing here?
You use option 0 x 40 incorrectly. That allows you to create a pool of clones and aims to created that only once (I ran up to 10000 clones with a reference using 0x40). If you want a clone by reference, then just use 0x80.

Dear all.
I have 2 progrlams application in the same schema. the intention is to use the 2 different when excuting programs for different applications, and each have to stop and start button, of course, I'll have to stop master. But when I run the program, it works as a program in time, it's the 1st block which I make active only, when I tried to activate the second block, that won't work, works only when I stopped the1st one. So, he wants your help, how can I solve my problem. Here I am attaching some of my programs.
Kind regards!
Furthermore, if you want two loops to run at the same time, just this.

Running the Single Instance and RAC on the same server of different homes.
Hi guys,.
I already have 4 node RAC12c installed on OLE 6.
I'm planing on some of my other 12 single instance databases on other migration for RAC nodes.
Please correct me here if I am wrong...
My understanding is that, to be able to use DBCA or rconfig for conversion of database instance RAC, the only instance and RAC cluster must run on the same server or machine node.
Thanks to this understanding... Am planing on the installation of a binary single instance on one of my cluster node node1 say and then use RMAN to duplicate the single instance or just an RMAN restore from the node of the instance that is unique to this node1. Am capable of this plan must then use DBCA or rconfig to convert the CARS database.
Now, my question is can I run a single instance and RAC on the same server for different homes with different database ports?
2. for these unique instance that runs on the server RAC 1 node, can I use the RAC database listener that runs from the House of the grid or I have to create another auditor?
Thank you in advance and also let me know if I can use DBCA or rconfig when the only instance and rac database are on separate nodes.
K
Fix. And that's what I would normally do. In general, I would have just an ORACLE_HOME directory that can be used by the punctual and RAC databases at the same time.
See you soon,.

dblink to an instance on the same server
Suppose I have two Oracle instances that sit on the same physical server. In one case, I create one dblink to another and this dblink allows to define a view as select * from sometable@dblink. Will there be of the type involved in the trafficking network restrictions (for example limited to the current network interface physical bandwidth as 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps) causing overhead tiny as these instances be on separate physical machines? In other words, is this dblink between instances the right way to go, or maybe there is possibility to enjoy a few additional mechanisms for these two instances provided the fastest way possible (and assuming that created the view above)?
Thank you
If the two instances are on the same server, LAN drivers/software can resolve the IP address of the connected 'server' as the local host, so he won't need to go out on the network (if possible, why not try unplugging the network cable from the server and see if it works again - assuming, of course, the network is not necessary for the duration). The connection will pass through the network interface on the same server and communicate via the relevant port that the instance is configured on.
This isn't really any different to having an instance of database installed on a computer not connected to the network that you connect then on this same computer by using any client interface, it will be always access it through the port on which the database is listening, but there is no need for any network physical to exist.
As separate bodies, then using dblink is probably the method appropriate and common use.

Oracle XE on multiple virtual machines on the same physical machine?
Hi people,
Can I install Oracle XE on several virtual machines that are on the same physical machine?
Thank you
G. grangierI find that this interpretation is questionable.
Instance, what do mean?
What they mean by server?
Unless Oracle explicitly forbids the execution of several databases of XE on different virtual machines at the same time, I don't see violations. For example, imagine that the user has runs that XE on AWS and user B running an another XE on AWS.
They are not running on the same "Server"?Flavio

Bug. Can not put two edge animations animate on the same page
Alrighty. Just thanked Adobe for fixation sensitive question scaling. Now, it seems to be a new. When I put two animations dashboard run on the same page, they both disappear completely from the view! Both in mode live view (or which saw fluid grid) and trying to get a glimpse into any browser. The responsive design works fine but if I put two animations on the same page that the two just disappear! GONE!
Perhaps there is a code that I can use to prevent this. I did a number of tests during the last hour. My smile (from the reactive solution) is now again a frown. I can't keep working like that. Please let me know if there is something I am doing wrong. I have two animations on a page without worries prior to this version, but the delicate design did not work properly. The responsive design work NOW, but I can't have MORE than ONE ANIMATION on the same page. Thanks for your time. Best regards, Julian.
