Several questions to CRM On demand release 16

Hi all

I use the trial version of Oracle CRM On Demand 16 release, and I have several questions to ask:

1. in the help document "Oracle CRM On Demand administration / Business process management/creation workflow rule Actions" mentioned that we can create a value for update action, but I can't find this feature in the workflow rule action.
While we have to pay for this feature, like "assign an action book"?


2. I can't add new values to lookup the status of Service request, it is a read-only.
Is there a way to do this?

1. the 'Updated value' Action is available under Triger Event-"before recorded change."
I don't know why you have to pay to "assign an action book. It's on the box feature.

2. Yes, the status of SR is a read-only list. A workaround that I can think of is to create a custom field for the status. Then run a WF to synchronize the values of the status field custom field initial status (particuluarly open and close values. Who will maintain the integrity of all matrices of SR).

    I don't think that there is no comparison of the independent. Each provider can provide one showing their product beats all. Gartner and Forester ranks CRM On Demand as leaders in the CRM space. They are always behind the salesforce.com.

    I suggest you look at the functions that you are trying to reach and see what software would be wise. CRM on Demand is a growth curve while salesforce has stabilized in the market space. CRM on Demand has some key features of Siebel and I see that they fast forward. Salesforce a large number of partners. CRMOD R16 is going to be a major release with respect to features. Problem with CRMOD is that they don't tell you when they come out with a new version. This kind of sux!.

    R15 of CRMOD has only 3 custom objects and R16 is supposed to come out with somewhere between 8-30. Salesforce already has more than 30 items (customized version).
    Salesforce data center architecture has been challenged to the end - because all salesforce customers were out for 40 minutes during the last week. It won't happen thanks to their Pod Structure in Oracle. A descending pod will not kill all clients.
    Oracle customer service has improved over the last year.

    1. when it works, after 2-3 hours (I run usually small programs such as safari, msn messenger and bsplayer) CPU gets 85 to 90 C (178-188). When I play age of Empires 2 (come on, its an old game) like 2-3 hours, it stops. What could be the possible reason? Furthermore, let me inform you about the climate of the city I live, 30 c temperature - humidity 25-35% (today).
    PS. CPU is AMD Turion 64 X 2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor. Model RM-74

    2. I'm going to disassemble my laptop in order to clean its cooling units (I think at the rate of overheating is this). It does seem like a desktop computer, so complicated. Ive seen a disassembly not to not (btw, its so difficult to spell dismantling :) I think Im going to do this. What are your suggestions on this subject? experiences could help me?

    1 + 2. I think everything is related to a higher internal temperature and you must clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. That is why it s not necessary to remove, just blow softly and soon the air through the laptop. You can buy such compressed air which squirts of each computer store I think and it takes only 5 minutes.

    3. in my opinion he should forget this update! The speed of the RAM is related to the FSB of the CPU and as much as I know about Satellite U405D it s 667 MHz so it s already the RAM faster than you can have. Save your money and buy a larger HARD drive or in the best case a SSD that can really improve the performance!

    4. in my view, the answer is clear: Windows 7 64-bit.

    1 - to ensure that everything works perfectly you don t need these discs, but if something goes wrong with the HARD drive you will not be able to do anything. When you have the recovery DVDs, you will still be able to install the recovery image and once again the factory settings. So my advice to you is: create these discs as soon as possible. Use only on DVD-R media and buy products of high quality (TDK or Verbatim).

  • Several questions after restart explorer.exe

    I have several questions after I ended the process explorer.exe and reopened. "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" only opens the Task Manager (and neither do "Ctrl + Shift + Esc"), the level of the battery is displayed on my taskbar, my wallpaper mysteriously changed, etc.

    What happened in detail was:

    My taskbar was hidden behind a window I had open. For example, if I open the Chrome, Chrome window cover at the bottom of my screen, with the taskbar behind it. The taskbar was NOT to hide and minimize. So, I took the advice to restart my explorer.exe. However this is not going smoothly. I couldn't bring up the task in any Manager. I could not even restart my computer. The only thing I could do was click on the space bar, which makes "click on" my browser Chrome which was open at the time. This allowed me to open a task manager with control of Chrome ONLY. Chrome, I've navigated to C:/.../explorer.exe and double clicked on it. I got my taskbar and the office back, although very distorted. Now, there are still a lot of questions I need to recover from. I think it might be a problem starting some .exe that could somehow have disabled. I would be happy to provide any additional information.

    This is a safe operation restart explorer.exe. Your catalogue of failures suggest that you have some fundamendal problems. I would like to use the system restore to go as far as I could. If that fails to solve the problems, then I'd go for a destructive factory restore.

    Grand tour of questions, I'll do my best address:

    (1) are you referring to multiple devices or multiple different applications? I'll answer both:

    Features: A push message can be sent to one or more devices. So, you can send a surge of broadcast to all registered devices.

    Applications: Push accounts don't support a single application, there is a 1:1 relationship. You can, however, apply to many accounts to push. We have some suppliers with dozens of accounts.

    (2) push is only offered as a free service today. There are daily caps imposed, but these caps can be * very * flexible (we can always increase your cap if necessary).

    (3) there no limit to how many customers once your account grow flies over to the production server. For the test, we need each account to start pushing the testing server which limits the number of users at 50.

    (4) at present there is no restrictions on the content of the payload to push. We do not recommend an option to allow users to not receive messages however push.

  • Transition from one question to several questions in DPS

    Trying to produce our first Apple kiosk application. When we started to deal with through DPS App Builder, we initially chose one question (the $49.95 / month). Then we went to DPS Pro and it will not change this field. (Screenshot see attached). This field is grayed out and won't allow it to be changed.

    When you change the type of application, you must create a new instance of the Viewer from scratch in DPS App Builder. To get the app in kiosk, you will need to create a subscription with push notifications enabled application. See the Companion Guide for more details.

  • Several questions with PPCS4

    Aloha and everyone,

    I have several questions with PP - CS4, they are:

    (1) the Sony HC-7 & 9 are not expressly listed in the Group of Capture Settings tab, "Device Control > Options button > device brand > Sony > DeviceType ' why?

    (2) my Sony HC - 7 camera is online, the Capture Panel is open, the settings tab is selected in the capture settings window click on "Capture Format HDV", the button modify immediately below appears and opens a dialog box, the value default "Format of Capture" bed "HDV", to the immediate right is a button "PARAMETERS of HDV.  This button is active, but when you click on it, there is no response.  This button is supposed to operate alone or do a bug?

    (3) a clip was made in the encoder and classified by subject for later use, including possible placement on a URL of stock footage.  This clip can be reused and essentially rendered again for use in a DVD or for placement on u-tube.

    (4) after washing of the gases through all clips in a "specific timetable", I want to move to a 'sequence' I titled "FRONT BEING RENDERED.  Cut / paste does not work to navigate between the sequences.  Is there a way?

    (5) in the timeline panel, after washing, I renamed the clips and added code comments.  When I export the clips thru 'Encoder' element names are lost in the process.  "Encode" supposed to work this way?

    (6) in the opening "encode". the upper part of the widow of the display indicates "drag - move clips or use the Add button", but when I go back to the timeline to select clips, I'm prevented drag / drop.  What I am doing wrong?

    Drag-and - d├⌐poser is for real media files, no clips in first.  To add first, you can either export > media first, (the normal way when the first is opened) or using the command line of SOUL, to add a first sequence.

  • Several Questions about educational Versions of the software

    Well, I have several questions about teaching from Adobe software.  I will attend school in the near future (now I'm not enrolled in any type of school) and I see that Adobe has huge discounts on "educational software".

    What exactly is the difference between the "commercial" version of a program and an educational version?  Do you need some kind of student card to activate an educational version, or proof that you are in school, or something special like that?  I noticed people unopened sell educational versions on eBay and I heard there is no differences between the software, but this makes me wonder... why the price difference?

    Also, I intend on buying another Mac in the near future - probably for the school.  My second question is - with this software (education), is that I can put programs on my desktop and my laptop, or they won't work on one person on one computer?  I've heard people that serial numbers cannot be activated so many times.

    Last question.  My HDD recently crashed and I lost a good bit of things and had to re - install everything.  If this would never happen again, reinstall all Adobe programs on a hard drive nine?  Or I will meet the all 'serial numbers cannot be activated so many times?

    In terms of content, there normally is no real difference between the editions of the retail and educational/student. There may be some additional fonts or clip art in the commercial version, but this varies from one version to the other, and a product.

    You must qualify to buy an educational/student version. These qualifications are listed on the Adobe Web site. Normally, you must provide proof of reserve that sells licenses of software for you. You can not buy now for the reason that you will be a student in the future. You must have purchase student status.

    Unlike versions of retail, education/student Adobe versions software are not transferable. Sale of such software 'closed' on eBay must be regarded with suspicion. Adobe resellers do not offer software on eBay sales. The software is either stolen, used (but reconditioned), or pirated goods.

    Most of the Adobe software, including the Creative Suite software, can be activated at the same time on two computers owned and used by a single individual. second computer is usually a laptop, if first computer is a computer at home for students. For retail sales, usually first computer is a desktop computer and the second computer is a mobile computer or at home. Computers must not run the software at the same time. And No, two students may not share a single copy on two separate computers.

    The software can be turned on and off but after 20 or if these cycles, you will need to call Adobe and explain what is happening to get characters such cycles. If you are enabled on both systems and a hard drive or a computer turns off and you need to reinstall the software without having the possibility to disable the system blew, Adobe activation support group normally will be granted an additional activation, assuming that you do not have a record of abusing the privilege (as your hard drive breaks down once a month!).

    We run everything although Citrix for Outlook and the application is hosted on Citrix servers. Personally, I have two sessions running at any given time...

    One - Citrix with the application installed on the local server but personally, I don't use outlook via Citrix but do other users.
    Two - I start Outlook on my local machine outside Citrix as well and it works fine

    Embarrassed, but when you mark a question as correct, the thread will be marked as answer. Prior to this release, there is a way to mark as answered without scoring an answer as being correct. You can assign several relatively useful answers, but that will not mark the thread as an answer. I'm not a moderator, do not know if these people have more power in their Toolbox.
