SFC cannot repair system files
I need to repair some system files and sfc says he can't fix all the mistakes. You want I can send you the journal of sfc?
Hello
Many files that SFC cannot resolve are not important.
Start - type in the search box-> find CMD in top - click right on - RUN AS ADMIN
put the command from below (copy and paste) in this box and her and then press ENTER.
findstr/c: "[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > sfcdetails.txt
who creates the sfcdetails.txt file in the folder that you are in when you run it.
So if you're in C:\Windows\System32 > then you will need to look in that folder for the file.
How to analyze the log file entries that the Microsoft Windows Resource Checker (SFC.exe) program
in Windows Vista
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/928228
This creates sfcdetails.txt in C:\Windows\System32 find and you can post the errors in a message
here. NOTE: there are probably duplicates so please only post once each section error.
You can read the newspaper/txt files easier if you right click on Notepad or Wordpad then RUN AS ADMIN - then
You can navigate to sfcdetails.txt (in C:\Windows\System32) or cbs.log (in C:\Windows\Logs) as needed.
(You may need to search sfcdetails.txt if it is not created in the default folders.)
Hope this helps and happy holidays.

Method 1: I suggest that you do the startup repair using the Windows Vista installation disc and check if it works.
If you have a Windows Vista installation disc, you need to restart (boot) your computer using the installation disc. If you do not restart your computer from the disk, the option to repair your computer will not appear.
a. Insert the installation disc.
b. restart your computer.
Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.
c. If prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.
Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions.
d. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
e. click on repair your computer.
f. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
g. in the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair.
See: How can I fix a startup (startup)?

Method 2: If above method fails, then run the command chkdsk WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment) and check if it solves the problem:

Note: Select command prompt from the system recovery options and follow the mentioned below as follows:
Type the following command and press ENTER.

Cannot open .exe files, cannot open any programs
My computer worked fine until last night. Now, every time that I click on a shortcut, or try to open any program, I get this error: this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the set Associations control panel. OR I get this message: the version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer's system information to see if you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher.
I got this computer for 2 years, with the same programs on it (of course they have been updated since then) and never had a problem. I can't even run a virus scan or anything to know if I have a. What is going on?

Unable to repair corrupt files...
I now have 3 PCs that SFC found corrupt files and that he is unable to remedy. All this seems to coincide with the Windows updates a few months ago. Someone else has the same problem? Does anyone have a solution?
As you guessed, it is almost certainly updated related and seems to have been largely caused by updates about moving to Windows 10 of smoothing. There has been several discussions on this problem of SFC in the Windows Update forum and you will find a lot more on this subject here, but the thread below might be of interest - I will detail how I solved this on my two laptops of W7 * (a Dell - one HP) but there seems to have been various corrections for different users. (* May 20 of my post on page 6)
Updates of June will be available in the coming days and it may be a few bugs (or not!)
See what happens after the new updates and then if you're still worried, perhaps re-post in the forum updated. Best-Ric.

Corrupted system files can be repaired. SFC/scannow can't fix
I noticed on my installation of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit that autochk.exe does not work when starting on my C: drive.
I checked my registry BOOTEXECUTE key and it reads as follows:
BootExecute REG_MULTI_SZ autocheck autochk /p\\? \C:autocheck autochk *.
Autochk would not run at boot time.

How can I fix it?
Hello
First of all, I suggest to remove the Chkdsk.exe or the program Autochk.exe of scheduled tasks:
Click on start > all programs > Accessories > system tools > scheduled tasks.
Click Chkdsk or Autochk in the list of scheduled tasks > under folder tasks > click Delete this item.
Also, make sure that the registry has the entrance on the right as mentioned below:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager. In the right pane the BootExecute value autocheck autochk *
Then, schedule an autocheck and see if the problem persists.
How to back up and restore the registry?
Kind regards

System File Checker detects files from oembios that cannot be repaired
I ran the System File Checker on my computer Dell Dimension, and he found files that cannot be repaired: oembios.dat, oembios.sig and oembios.bin. The computer has Windows XP with Service Pack 3 installed and was purchased new in December 2002. The original XP installation disk that I've ever used, a SP1 is installed.
Event Viewer gave this message for one of these files after run the System File Checker. "The oembios.sig of file protected system could not be restored to its original, valid version. "The file version of the bad file is 0.0.0.1 the specific error code is 0x800b0100 [no signature was present in the subject.]."
Everything works well, and these corrupted files seem to have no effect on the operation of the computer. I even ran a Seagate hard drive diagnostic test, and it passed. These files, compressed copies that are in c:\i386 and on the installation disc, be repaired and properly placed in their place in c:\Windows\System32?
Thank you, Robert. I tried your suggested solutions.
First, I tried expanding oembios.si_ of the CD on the e drive (CD player) after the reboot. But I got this message from the command prompt: "cannot open the input e:oembios.si_ file."
Second, I tried to develop oembios.si_ of the c drive, where I know it exists in c:\i386. Yet once again, I got the same message that the input file cannot be opened.
This has proved to be a sticky problem. Fortunately, my computer still works well. It is just that I do not have corrupt files hidden.

I run sfc/scannow; results. resource protection finds files corrupted and managed to fix it. System file repair changes will take effect after the next reboot. but after the restart without change, I run sfc/scannow and files are always corrupt
system not finish booting and stuck at halfway. Also the programs would not open. I had installed some drivers from the Asus download site. before it began. so I uninstalled it, but no help, then I ran the SFC scan who gave me the message about corrupted files, I ran a system restore and everything works although now I have same re installed all the updates except some Akami download which was also offered on the Asus downloads thanks. for your quick response

I tried to install the SP2 of Vista for a few days now with no luck. Earlier today, I had a breakthrough and was finally able to install 'patch for Windows", which, after a reboot, enabled me to see the x 64 SP2 update in part"updates"of the control panel. When I tried to install that, he said he failed and gave me an error code. When I looked it up, it says try "sfc/scannow" in an elevated command prompt. The research a ton of lines of logs and errors, and after looking through, I could find these as (the least most) files problem-
WinSAT.exe
Amd64\HPF940AL. DLL
PresentationBuildTasks.dll
locale.NLSMy question is, are any of these files required for the installation of Vista SP2 to cross? Thanks in advance for any help offered, and more information is needed, I will gladly provide.
Extra balls (If I missed a few files problem, I'd appreciate a double check. WinSAT.exe was not who listed there, but it was listed above upward with no sign to be repaired)

We look also at the bottom line in the journal of the SFC, not just specific entries along the way.
He would often have similar entries, but the line of low said unable to fix or repaired successfully.

How to: repair corrupt files that were found with SFC
Hello, I am working with a laptop Dell Inspiron 1720. Operating system is Vista SP2. Got the black screen of death on the desktop and can not use Windows Explorer or configuration panel. A ran CHKDSK, which does nothing to solve the problem. Then ran SFC Scan with command prompt Admin, it stops at 68% indicating that tour corrupted files Windows and cannot fix them. System Restore has 4 available dates too, but I get an error for all 4 code dates 0x800423F3. I called Dell, they said that they suspected a virus even if the computer is running Microsoft Security Essentials, updated virus definitions & analysis each week. I am at one loss for what else to do, Microsoft don't think it's the virus, Dell, and both want to charge their famous contribution. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated as a complete reformat is really, really not an option at this time. Thank you

Hello
I can't try to repair the corrupted files on my Sony VAIO laptop to Windows 8. I hope someone can help me solve my problems. I would really like to know how to fix these problems I'm having. It really gets me. If ever I have similar problems in the future. All my drivers are up to date. I'm pretty confident that's not a malware issue. I take care of my line on activities that could infect my computer. Although I'm not 100% that excludes. I use Mcafee security Suite (fully updated and free with my broadband package). No other scanners time real AV are running. I However sometimes use a registry cleaner, after installation and installation of various programs. but I only use the default methods, never the registry COMPLETE cleaning cleaning method. In my view, these could create problems if used files. I also defragment my HARD drive of 1 TB at least once a week.DISM / / cleanup-image online /restorehealth/ also is not working error message and log files can be found below!I ran sfc/scannow and several times, whenever I get the error message stating:Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unsable to correct someof them. Details are provided in the cbs.log windir\logs\cbs\cbs.log newspaper. For example C:\windows\logs\cbs\cbs.log. Note that iis logging currently notsupported in offline maintenance scenarios. When I reboot win 8 after running sfc/scannow. Windows 8 shows that it is far from my system of up to 100%It charges fine. I have run the sfc/scannow, and then he did exactly the same thing. I reboot and it updates my system. but does not not my files corrupted!CHKDSK /F also freezes 27%. But when I starts in the my Sony VAIO #1 recovery disk and run diagnostics hardware HARD drive repair tool to try to fix the sectors defective etc on my HARD drivewhich works 100% and says there is NO problem! Here are the files of newspapers that I can access. I have to admit, now, that I do not understand them.even after much reading online:20/07/2013sfc/scannow eror message =Windows resource protection found corrupt filesbut has been unable to find someof them. Details are provided in the CBS.log newspaperwindir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log for example C:/windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.Note that logging is not currently supported in offline scenarios.(ACCESS DENIED) when I try to open the C:/windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log log file.DISM / online/cleanup-image /restorehealth/21/07/2013 of the log files and error messages0x800f081fthe source file is not foundUse the source option to specify the locationthe files that are needed to restore the function. To learn moreinformation on the specification of a location of the source,See http://go.microsoft/fwlink/?linkid=243077The DISM log file can be found at C:\windows\Logs\DISM\dism.logI hope that I can help to solve the problems of thsesconcerningHow to run the command "SFC/scannow" at startup or in Windows 8InformationThis will show you how the sfc/scannow command to start or in Windows 8 in an attempt to trouble altered or modified system files.TipIf you get the error that Windows resource protection could not start the Repair Service when you try to run the SFC, then make sure that the Windows Modules Installer service is active and set to Manual. If SFC is unable to repair the system files corrupted because the Bank (source) is damaged, then you could run the Dism/online/Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth command to set the Windows component store corruption and then then try to re-run the SFC scan.
OPTION ONETo run the SFC/SCANNOW command. at startup
1. open a prompt at startup.2 in the command prompt, type diskpart and press ENTER, and then type the size of the list and press ENTER. (see screenshot below)
3 make Act your boot drive drive letters (ex: 350 MB "System Reserved" partition) and the drive of Windows 8, type Exit , and then press ENTER. (see screenshot above)
NOTE: If you do not a "system Reserved" partition and are not multi-boot with other operating system, then the boot drive and the drive of Windows 8 may be the same drive letter.4 in the command prompt, type the following command and press enter. (see screenshot below)
NOTE: , You will see a blinking cursor at the prompt to the end. It will take a while to finish running though.sfc/scannow damaged = C: \ /offwindir = D:\windows
NoteYou need to replace the the drive letter of the partition or volume where your Startup system files are stored in the offbootdir = C: part of the order above instead. You need to replace the letter of your partition or volume Windows 8 in the offwindir = D: is part of the above command instead.
5 when the analysis is finished, I hope you will see an everything is ok message as below.
6 close the command prompt and restart the computer to start Windows 8.NoteIf SFC could not fix something, then run the new command to see if it can be able to next time. Sometimes, it can take by running the sfc/scannow command 3 times restart the PC after each time completely fix everything what he is capable of.If this isn't the case, then run Dism/online/Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to repair any corruption component store, restart the PC later and try the sfc/scannow command.
If still no, then you could do a Refresh of Windows 8, or run a System Restore using a restore point dated before the wrong file system occurred to fix. You may need to repeat doing a restore of the system until you find a restore point that is older that may work.
If not yet, then you can use the steps in the TIP box in the THREE OPTION section below to manually replace the files SFC could not fix.
SECOND OPTIONTo run the SFC/scannow command in Windows 8
1. open an elevated command prompt in Windows 8.2 in the elevated command prompt, type sfc/scannow , and then press enter. (see screenshot below)
NOTE: It may take some time to complete the race.
3 when the analysis is finished, I hope you will see that all is ok message as the screenshot below.
NOTE: Fortunately CFS was able to repair my files automatically damaged system.NoteIf SFC could not fix something, then run the new command to see if it can be able to next time.
If still no, then you could do a Refresh of Windows 8, or run a System Restore using a restore point dated before the wrong file occurred to fix. You may need to repeat doing a restore of the system until you find a restore point that is older that may work.
If not yet, then you can use the steps in the TIP box in the THREE OPTION section below to manually replace the files SFC could not fix.
OPTION THREEHow to see and read that only "CFS" Scan results from CBS. JOURNAL
NOTE: SFC when is running, it records its actions in the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. The steps of this option will show you how to view only specific SFC entries with the [SR] tags in the CBS.log newspaper. This can be useful to show you what files SFC couldn't fix automatically if you want to try and manually change them.
2 in the elevated command prompt, copy and paste the following command and press enter.
NOTE: This will place a file sfcdetails.txt on your desktop with only the SFC scan details of the results of the CBS. Log in this.Code:findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt
3 close the elevated command prompt.4. open the file on your desktop to see the SFC sfcdetails.txt analysis details in convertible bonds. NEWSPAPER.
5 when you are finished, you can safely remove the sfcdetails.txt file later if you wish.
TipIf you need to replace a corrupted system file that SFC cannot fix, this will show you how to:If you have many files are corrupted, then run Dism/online/Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to repair any component store corruption, restart the PC after and try the sfc/scannow command.
If you have only a little, then you could manually extract a new copy directly from your installation of Windows 8 DVD or USB thumb drive, or ISO if file in a virtual machine.
