SFC/SCANNOW couldn't solve errors

I have several problems with Windows 8, for example I can't open PDF files.

So I ran scannow sfc. He ran, but not been able to resolve the errors.

I ran these successfully, but they have not solved all the problems:

DISM / Online/Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM / Online/Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM / Online/Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

My journal CBS lies in my Public Skydrive folder.

Help, please! Thank you.

    Of course, a repair installation is needed, AS in SAY THE MANY SUGGESTIONS below, with it REQUIRING the task long and arduous the resettlement of more than 100 to perhaps more than 200 updates, then put it back some or all of the programs...  IT USUALLY TAKES THE BETTER PART OF 2 DAYS OR MORE.  For some corrupt system files.  There is no reason that the files cannot be simply installed without all this.

    We need to back up a bit and get more information...

    Since the Microsoft Answers forum does not have any kind of information system request when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system.  Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

    Thank you MS Answers, allowing the resolution of simple problems as frustrating and a lot of time as possible.

    Provide information on your system, the better you can:

    What is your system brand and model?

    What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

    Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

    The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

    You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

    If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

    What is the problem you are experiencing that you think that sfc/scannow will correct?

    See if the remote procedure call (RPC) Service is running.   If it is not executed, it should run and many other things will not work if the RPC Service is not running.

    To do this, click Start, run and enter in the box:

    services.msc

    Click OK to launch the Services applet.

    Locate the remote procedure call (RPC) Service and see what he says in the status and Startup Type columns.

    If the RPC Service is not running (it must be), right click, choose Properties and see if you can start and change the type of start to 'automatic '.  If you make adjustments, click the OK button to save your changes, restart and make sure the settings "stick."

    Thanks for your information. I thought it was a waste of time and was upset to have to wait an hour and a half for it ends. I was under the impression that Check Disk would only verify that clusters are only valid as in they can keep information. But Check Disk resolved my sfc/scannow gap with files are corrupt.

    Borrow a Microsoft Vista DVD(not Dell, HP, etc Recovery DVDs) to do a repair installation

    If you see a startup Neosmart repair disk download here, this is NOT what you want.

    You want a good Vista DVD that contains the operating system files.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If you need a recovery media for your laptop back to factory settings, read this info:
    How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.
    There is no Vista free download legal available.
    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
    They will tell you how to do this.
    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • SFC/scannow detected files corrupt in Windows 7 64-bit it can not solve, and continues to deny me access to fix.

    I ran SFC/scannow this evening and received an error message saying corrupted files had been found, but could not be fixed, and gave me this path to find the journal and view and/or correct the files.  I read a few articles in this community on how to access the logs as an administrator.  No instructions in all of the arrticles works, I denied access on any line to display the files and I can't have them, either.  My laptop Asus G74Sx actually works very well, these corrupt files are something that I should worry and spend hours and hours trying to coax my laptop to me as an administrator?  Can someone please tell me how to enter the newspaper and how to fix corrupted files?

    First step, run DISM to correct errors.  Instructions located in the underside of wiki

    Please run a check of system files (SFC) & DISM if you're on win 7 or higher

It's just empty! I tried to solve this problem with sfc/scannow, but the message that I put in the title appears when it reaches 10%! I've tried everything literally! I tried running sfc/scannow offline, and it comes up with a message 'Protection of resources Windows could not start the repair service.' I also tried to check in my services to see if the Windows Module is manual in the startup type, and it is! The last thing I could think that I tried was the start in safe mode with command prompt, and it still does not. If anyone can help me, please! I've tried everything! * I forgot, I have try running CMD administrive rights, still won't work *.

    Thank you for the help, but I figured it out by myself. I replaced the old version ExplorerFrame.dll in system32 and sysWOW64 folders to a new! I managed to do it by copying the correct files to another computer and replacing them with the 'old' I have fiddled. Thanks for your help!
