Weird error display and SFC/scannow default task manager - windows 7
My laptop had a power failure last night and it took me a day to get this operational return.
After that the accident happened I couldn't run a sfc/scannow until after I ran a chkdsk/r.
As soon as I got it upward and runs windows updates is now Manager tasks shows strange Asian symbols under the user part in the process tabs.
And when I'm doing a sfc/scannow, it tells me there were errors recorded so here is my log
https://DL.dropbox.com/u/19577155/CBS.log
I say now that do a repair installation isn't an option, I would like to consider, my key is not useful, as well, too many activations due to reinstallation of windows 7 and more, and as I understand it, a repair installation requires reactivation

Get the "pcwum.dll is missing" error message when you open the Task Manager
Original title: Windows 7 64-bit: task manager and windows update does not work, amd update failed to load detectionprogramm and crashes from time to time
Sometimes, when I try to open the windows task manager it says: "Het programma kan niet worden gestart omdat pcwum.dll Land op uw computer. ' U * says clean mogelijk oplossen door het programma opnieuw you installeren. Basically, he says pcwum.dll is missing on my computer and I can fix it by reinstalling the program. As it is I can't reinstall the Task Manager. Also, when I try to check for Windows updates, it does not work because it says: "uh" momenteel niet naar "kan updates gezocht worden, omdat Windows Update-service niet actief is. U moet uw computer opnieuw opstarten mogelijk. "translated: you can not search for updates now, because the Windows Update service is not active." You may have to restart your computer. It says this all the time so I will have this since June have not updated since then. When I try to update my AMD updater it says there is a new version available, I now 12.6 and 12.8 update. Can I download and extract, but whenever I try to install it it says it can't find the driver detection program. I have an AMD ATI - Radeon 5700. My computer crashes now and then. I get the famous blue screen, who said he had a problem with a driver (probably one of my graphics card) and needs to restart. When it restarts I have first option starting in safe mode, but I can't update my drivers in safe mode so that didn't help out me. I did a few recommended lately on the system settings. I don't remember see these multiple entries above.
It is normal to have several copies of svchost.exe appears in the Task Manager. I have 8 right now in the process of execution.
Important XP Services running "behind" these entries of svchost.exe. Some svchost.exe process may have just XP Service running behind her, an another svchost.exe process can have several XP Services running behind it.
In addition, malicious software has been know to dress up like a svchost.exe process to deceive you or sometimes the malware will hide behind a svchost.exe process, because he knows that you won't be able to see it in the Task Manager.
I don't know what YahooWidgets and do not want to install any YahooWidgets to find out how it works, or if this is normal.
Thanks to the bad implementation of the MS Answers forums, we know absolutely nothing about your system is always a good idea before troubleshooting to run some respectable scans for malware, then I'll give you some instructions, if you're curious to see what happens behind these multiple svchost.exe process see you in Manager tasks.
No matter what you use for malware protection, follow these steps:
Download, install, update, and make at least an analysis full (not at the same time) with these free malware detection programs:Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_freeSUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/These comprehensive analyses can take some time, but you really need to run. SAS will probably be just a bunch of Internet tracking cookies, but you can remove them. Once you have done at least a full analysis, you can do quick scans in the future to save time and save the analyses complete for when you have more time or are really suspicious of an infection of the system.
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
To help understand your processes svchost.exe and what is running under them, read this article and you will be smarter than the average bear:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial129.html
You may be able to get clues with what is happening with your svchost.exe process using the Task Manager and maybe understand.
You will always be able to understand what is happening with your svchost.exe process if you use Process Explorer.
Download Process Explorer, so you can see what is 'really' running on your system, especially behind those svchosts several process see you in the running task manager.
Download Process Explorer from here:
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
You'll like Process Explorer when you get the hang of it. Process Explorer is the Manager of Windows taskbar on steroids.
Process Explorer installs nothing so it won't slow down your system since it works only on request.
Process Explorer can seem a little intimidating at first because it has so much information, but you will begin to make love the way it works when you're looking for performance problems. You can even say EP you want it to be your new default 'Task Manager' value in the future. You can always run the original tasks as Manager.
Once you get Process Explorer running, expand the columns, made drag the corners of the screen for it's largest, etc., so you can see as much information as possible in the window. Now you can really see what is running on the system.

My Task Manager window has no title bar
My Task Manager window has no title bar (it's usually blue) and nothing underneath, except for applications that run on the page. It gives me at least to go to any other page. I usually use Bill P Studios "WinPatrol" to close the Task Manager.
"double-click the empty space in the border" and the task manager should return to normal. TaurArian [MVP] 2005-2010 - Update Services

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1030 Notebook PC running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. About 2 weeks ago, I noticed that when I go to the Task Manager window, it has more Ribbon to reduce/enlarge/close in the upper right corner of the window. The only way to eliminate the window is to restart my computer. I had several automatic updates that happened during this time from Microsoft (Windows updates) and HP (HP Advisor software). Anyone have any idea why this happened and how to fix it?
Double-click on the top bar of the Task Manager and the will to "Reduce, restore upwards downwards, close" be restored.
Don't forget to close all open window press Alt and F4 keys together.

Windows 8 will not connect wireless automatically and sfc/scannow error
Hey,.
I have a problem and I hope that some of you may be able to answer. I have a desktop running Windows 8 x 64 which, no matter what I try, just usually don't forget I connect WIFI at home. Every time I start the PC I have to go into the details again once I tried everything (several times), new drivers and virtually all of the suggestions emanating from the research on various forums.
I say this because when I tried to run the "sfc/scannow" in an elevated cmd, it comes up with an error.http://www.Neowin.NET/forum/uploads/monthly_05_2011/post-336322-0-01396700-1305440203.jpg
Error is the same that above, looking in the CBS.log newspaper he does not mention that it is unable to repair the files of numerours including some relationships Wi - Fi so I don't know whether they are connected or not.
The wireless network card is the USB - N13 by Asus.
The wireless works fine on my laptop and my GFs Macbook.
Anyone has any idea as how to fix WIFI details don't forget not the "sfc/scannow"?
Kind regards
JensHello
I would have you try responses in the thread.
Also applies to Windows 8.

I am trying to download the demo version of 'WoW' World of Warcraft. I get to the part where he is configing its parameters to my computer and get a runtime error that something caused my program is complete. I read the other posts which had similar problems so I ran sfc/scannow in the command prompt window. It reads... Resources Windows Protection found corrupt files but was not able to fix some. Details are provided in the CBS.log newspaper. I've shortened, but it is easy to understand that there is a question that the scan will not fix. I tried to access the CBS.log newspaper and opened a text doc, that was a bunch of YYYYYYYYY. I'm a little lost here and my 10 free WoW trial days is weathering away without me =)
Please help, thanks
Borrow a Microsoft Vista DVD(not Dell, HP, etc Recovery DVDs) to do a repair installation
If you see a startup Neosmart repair disk download here, this is NOT what you want.
You want a good Vista DVD that contains the operating system files.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you need a recovery media for your laptop back to factory settings, read this info:
How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
They will tell you how to do this.
Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

When you go to many websites, including N4G.com and Royalroadl.com, my browser will slow down suddenly, and container plugin firefox will Flash quickly on and off tension in my task manager, too fast to turn it off manually.
The only way to solve this problem, so far, has been to stop the page from loading before a certain point.This also prevents many videos loading and the major slowdown. He has only started to happen after I have updated to the latest version of Firefox, and disabling all plug-ins and extensions did not resolve the issue.
My current version is 40.0.3.
Someone knows how to easily return to the most recent version without problems?Edit: Both, I found the solution!
I went into the plug-ins for Firefox, went into the menu Options for the Shockwave Flash plug-in and disabled Protected Mode.
For some stupid reason, Protected Mode was the thing causing videos blocked and slowdown.
Spread this solution for anyone with similar problems, please!

hpnetworkcommunicator .exe comes on and off in my task manager...
My pointer icon changes changes to an icon that is animated whenever my computer is working on something. After installing my new officejet wireless 4620... This animated icon just keeps going and turns off constantly. I opened my task manager to see what worked, and I found the file hpnetworkcommunicator.exe appearing and disappearing as my animated icon went on and outside.
I have a dell xps Windows xp 3
Is there a way to stop what is happening... is a little boring?
Thank you
There is a version recent software that corrects this "Hourglass" or "blue circles" mouser cursor behavior.
I suggest you go here to find the latest software for your hp printer: http://h20614.www2.hp.com/ediags/gmd/welcome.aspx?
For users who may be affected by similar behavior on another product, new software has been published for many inkjet printers HP (corresponding with the release of Windows 8) which corrects this problem.
If a newer version of the software is available for your product, I strongly suggest to install.

Task Manager Windows 'show all processes from all users' will not work
Hi im running service of 64 bit vista Home premium pack 2
For some reason any button "show all processes from all users" in the Task Manager will not work, when I click nothing happens, uac prompt little or nothing.
I can end processes very do well no problem it's just the show all button that does not work, I thought that maybe the taskmgr.exe in my right-click system32 folder and compatiability tab and running it as admin it would work, but the compatiability tab is completely grayed out all I can't click anything in it.
Im not a big computer wiz, but I checked my user accounts account im logged on says that it is the administrator and UAC is on.
On a side note do not know if this has nothing to do with my problem but recently my computer has got contracted a Trojan horse that has infected the mrt.exe file, I had to delete, now I get an error during windows startup associated with mrt.exe works not properly. any suggestions how to solve this problem too
