  • Clocks on board and derivatives of FPGA

    Hello

I use a PCIe FPGA 7852R card to collect data at 200 kHz of channel 5. I was pretty confident that my collection frequency was correct, because my program was based on a derived clock of 40 MHz I had chosen to use a derived clock because the on-board clock is running at 40,02 MHz (instead of the 40 MHz specified for some unknown reason I ignored).

However, today one of the members of the LabVIEW support team told me that the FPGA clock rate may change during the compilation and optimization (constraints). He stressed that if the FPGA can run that fast, then it displays an error (as you might expect). He said also that in some cases, the on-board clock can run faster, but in this case no error will be displayed. I saw no errors in the past (which means that the system had no problem with that fast running), however, I'm not sure if during one of my compilations my derived clock could have run faster than 40 MHz. If it can happen? This will affect the time of all of my previously acquired data. Unfortunately, I have not saved any of my journal compilation of .

Thank you very much in advance.

    Kind regards

    Varun

    Hi VarunSreenivasan,

I think that our support has meant that compile logs will show you some pieces of logic could operate at higher speeds. During the process of compilation, the compiler will determine the clock frequency more rapid that can be used for your logic and to ensure that the configured clock frequency is less than or equal to this value. If you have decided to try to run your code to 200 MHz and logic cannot run this fast, then you get an error. If you have decided to run your logic to 200 kHz and it is possible to run faster compilation logs will show you then the max frequency that will work, but the logic still run to 200 kHz. The code should run no faster than the frequency you specified.

  • Drift & precision clock 6323 PCIe

Is anyone know the temperature or time to derive values for the clock of 100 MHz on the NOR-6323 PCIe card?  The specification document only lists such as 50 PPM accuracy.

Unfortunately, the information you request is not available. Typically, builders oscillator provide stability of frequency as a range specifications (max and min values for example ±20ppm) and not the dependence of precision against temperature (for example a table of temperature vs frequency stability).

  • The drift in analog of the PCI-6221

    Hello

The VI described below makes the measurement of three analog channels. Then it calculates (if - then)/ So B,

    where TR = Ai2 Ai1/channel channel

    and Bi = channel Ai0

When TR = therefore, the average reading should be zero, but in fact what I get is the behavior showed in the chart below.

    I use PCI 6221, BNC-2110 and LabVIEW 7.1.

This may be the cause of this drift? Could you help me fix this problem?

    Thank you

    Marcelo.

You see on a derivative of uV ~ 40 on the map ±10V range?

It would be nice in the care of the accuracy of the 6221.  However, it sounds like the drift occurs over time.  If you leave it plugged in long enough tensions continue to drift or they stabilize?

It could very well be that the battery voltage is what is adrift.  However, if you add help polarization resistors so it is possible for you to accumulate small amounts of load on CDA - what values of resistance have you tried?  You can also consider CSR and connect the terminals of the battery (-) ground HAVE common to avoid having to use polarization resistors.

  • Noise thermocouple with PCI-6230

What level of noise should be expected for a K type thermocouple used with an acquisition of data PCI-6230 and a map derivation CB-37F-HVD? I read the data with LabVIEW and Daq Assist module on the setting of the thermocouple and the noise see of +/-1 ° C. For a type thermocouple K 41uV / ° C is 3 times the 6230 noise expected (13 uVrms) runs around 0.2 full scale. I think it should be more stable measures or is this a normal behavior?

    Thank you

This level of noise is expected. To improve, you can use a card with a noise filter. A dedicated thermocouple module would also work, but this includes a noise filter as well.

  • outbreak of PCIe-6361

I am trying to acquire data using a PCIe-6361 with LabWindows/CVI 8.1.0 (with DAQmx) on a Windows XP computer.

It is analog, sync data with a digital trigger signal, and I have the data entering ai0, with the trigger going into PFI0. Right now, the trigger is configured as the trigger for the start, with the unused reference trigger.

First question is: what exactly is pretriggering? I tried to read the various messages, and the help section is less useful. It seems to be data acquired before the outbreak of departure.

I need to configure the system behaves like an oscilloscope, with a delay of release after. That said, the trigger pulse comes and then the system wait x milliseconds and then acquires the data.

Before trigger samples are unique to reference triggers.  Essentially a reference trigger is a trigger of 'stop', where you have X samples to acquire before the trigger occurs and after purchase.

If you want a delay from when the trigger occurs to when you start to get data, I recommend using a trigger to start.  There's a Start Trigger Delay property that will allow you to wait X time elapsed of the trigger in when you start getting data.  The delay is derived by counting the graduations of the time base clock of sample I (100 MHz base time by default, which gives a resolution of 10 ns).

The relevant functions in the C API to delay the start of the acquisition are:

    -DAQmxSetStartTrigDelayUnits(taskHandle, DAQmx_Val_Seconds);

    -DAQmxSetStartTrigDelay(taskHandle, data float64);

  • PCI DSS 3.0 article 11.5

PCI DSS 3.0 Section 11.5 says this: "deploy a change detection mechanism (for example, file integrity monitoring tools) to personnel alert of unauthorized critical system, files of configuration file changes or content files; and configure the software to perform comparisons of critical files at least once a week. »

Has anyone found a solution for this?  I submitted a ticket support VMware asking and they said they don't have any tool/app today that makes it could they recommend all.  I find it rather surprising that standard has been effective since 1 January 2015 and there is very little information on what people do to accomplish this (and 11.5.1) requirement.  Thank you!

    Hello

So, you really want to look into HyTrust CloudCOntrol vSecurity and/or mocking because it will monitor the evolution to a host for you. The declaration is to monitor derivatives change or unauthorized changes. How you do that depends on how feel you you should do. If I followed the contents of a file to change, this does not mean I have to watch the entire file to change. Content is really what is important not the real of the file itself.

If your QSA is really stuck on you need to have a monitor integrity of files, then they are sticking to the letter of the law, so to speak, instead of the intention. I fires and one who truly understands the intention. In addition, if you control access to the management console, it's also a control to compensate for and who is captured as well. You need to think how these files change first place and if I can control said change, newspaper said change, etc., then I have a control of compensation that is sufficient.

I can also use the hardening guide to monitor critical files change as well by monitoring critical parameters within these files. I have a tool that does just that, like many others.

  • Mac Pro 5 1-PCIe Configuration

    Hello

I have upgraded my Mac Pro 5, 1 (model mid-2010) with a few changes/additions PCIe and need some advice. Frankly, I was surprised by the fact that the Expansion Slot utility was not usable here and the old interface to help me refine the best configuration. Reading about the possible configuration options started his contradictory between reseources. Anyway, this is what I have:

    Slot 1 (x 16) - ATI Radeon 5770 graphics card

    Slot 2 (x 16) - ATI Radeon 5770 graphics card

Location 3 (4 x) - empty (no physical space due to above)

Unit 4 (x 4) - card Sonnet PCI Tempo SSD Pro Plus

So, is this look of effective configuration for the priority of the data read/write verses performance graphics performance?

    Peace,

    Dr. Z.

The utility of PCI slot is not usable on the 2009 to 2012 Mac pro.

The allocation of housing-gears the 2009 Mac Pro 2012 is fixed, not configurable and is exactly as you say: the two 16 x slots, the two upper slots lower slots are 4 x speed, but of "provide support for up to 16 x cards" (in other words, they use the biggest connectors, but everything beyond 4 x is not connected).

Your installation seems fine. Some users prefer to leave the top slot open for a better circulation of air above all the cards. But as you say, you do not have this option.

4 x is fast enough for this SSD card. Which is about as fast they do these cards so far. Extra speed as a 16 slot x could not possibly serve in the drafting of this article.

Is my mid-2012 13 "MacBook Pro compatible with PCIe SSD upgrade? I want to remove the internal optical disk and edit it in the PCIe SSD, so that I have 2 internal storage. Going to do?

Your mention of an optical drive tells me you have a MBP non-retine.  PCI and PCIe SSDS are NOT compatible with your MBP.  You can install a card standard 2.5 "SSD in your MBP and still experience a significant increase in performance.  I suggest OWC SSD and Crucial.

  • Update of El Capitan 10.11.5 does card PCI does not work

When I upgraded to 10.11.5 my PCI-424 card (it's a MOTU audio interface card) has stopped working. Rather than appearing as 'PCI-424 In' it appears now as "optical / digital» Ditto for out when I go to System - Sound preferences.

I took the card and rebooted and it still showed the "digital optical". I put the card in another location and the same.

Clearly El Capitan is not to recognize the PCI card correctly but I don't know how to do this.

Also, I spent in El Capitan 10.11.5 10.8.5 Cougar.

There is no such cards and until Intel control tokens required to implement love at first sight, it will never be. You do not miss anything. They do not exist.

  • PCI card does not work

    Greetings,

I just bought a PCI Express card to add USB 3.0 to my Mac Pro (2008 model), but it seems to be recognized; Information system called "driver installed: no ' on this card, which is at least in the list of cards.

The accompanying CD has several folders (unknown which is the one I want) but I couldn't find a good.

It's a PCI Express "Delock" card, but there is no product name, except the description.

What can be done to correct the problem?

    Is specific USB what card?

Most require drivers provided by the manufacturer?

  • DVI PCI Card/s for G3 minitour

I am a new Member of this forum and I hope that someone has the necessary answersI. I have a Power Macintosh G3 Beige minitour @ 333 MHz, and I'm on OS 8.5.1. There is a reason, I must stay with OS 8.5.1.

I am wanting to know if there is a Dual-DVI PCI card that will work in this machine, so I can run two monitors via DVI in order to get a higher resolution than is available with VGA. My understanding is that VGA tops out at 1280 x 1024 and I need just a little more.

If there is not an available Dual-DVI card that will work with my setup, how about two single DVI cards? If, by chance, there are two ways, that would be better and two monitors can also..., run off PCI cards without involving the port of regular monitor of the factory. If the port of the factory to be used, is there an adapter (or adapter cable) him/DVI.

I know it's several questions, but get them out of here, in my first post may save some back.

    Thanks for any help, Tom

    Hi & welcome!

In fact, VGA will give you more resolution than DVI.

    Radeon 7000

The 32 MB memory DDR (Double Data Rate) will also help, allowing your computer to display very high resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 at 60 Hz if your analog monitor supports. Resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 are supported using digital flat screen, depending on the individual abilities of your LCD monitor.
