Share Internet via ethernet port

I just bought some tinge of Philips bulbs and a bridge. The bridge must be connected to a router via ethernet. Well, I just use my phone for Internet hotspot, and my phone is not obviously have an etherenet port. I want to be able to plug into the ethernet port on my computer and connect my computer in WiFi and send it to the ethernet port. I tried to go to the WiFi properties and share it to the Ether, (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/using-internet-connection-sharing) the Internet light lights up on the hue, but tint application still can't find it and scan ip shows that it is not actually connected. Am I doing this wrong? Any other way to do this?

Ethernet has no default gateway so he does not know where to look for information.  Its IP address indicates he can't get an IP address to the router, or the external DHCP/DNS servers.

Go to network & share > change adapter settings > Ethernet > properties >... Enter the IP Address of the gateway by default even in wifi.

Unable to connect to the internet via ethernet.

You have published a statement... is not an issue. You have a question?

Do you mean that you try to use Ethernet for Internet connection? OR are you asking how to connect to Internet if Ethernet is not possible?

  • Why can't connect me to Internet Via Ethernet?

    Hello

I help set up the iMac to a friend. No problem problem connecting to Internet through WiFi but can not get the connection via Ethernet. Cables checked and ethernet and all are in working condition. Took some screen shots but I'm not good at all with this stuff. Can someone explain where I'm wrong. Of course, it's simple for a person - but not for me!

That's what I mean when I open the network tab:

I'm not with the Mac today so instructions to take with me would be very appreciated.

    Kind regards.

Are plug you the ethernet cable directly to one of the ports on the router to the ethernet port of the iMac, rather than through network extensions? If so, and it is not working, you have another ethernet cable, you can try?

If the cable connections are good and it still does not, you can try a reset SMC and NVRAM (PRAM) and then test again:

  • Only browsers and AVAST cannot connect to internet via ethernet. Computers on the same router via WiFi, MS update, ping cmd - all access

Help! I'm about to commit the homicide of the computer!

I have been troubleshooting for weeks and am now bald from ripping my hair!

    Computer: Dell Inspiron 537 s Slim Desktop  w / Pentium Dual - Core CPU E5200 @250 GHz

Network card: Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller (checked several times, through Windows, it works correctly)

System: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit with Service Pack 1

    Router: Netgear N600 model #: WNDR3400v2

    Cable router: SBV5220 Surfboard Motorola

Now several months ago this desktop computer once more had SOME programs lose the ability to access the internet via an Ethernet cable.

    Affected programs:

    MS Internet Explorer

    Mozilla Firefox

    Avast! Security Suite

    Work of MS Security Update

    Ping works sites (Yahoo, etc.)

Other computers connected to this network via WiFi - no problem getting on the internet.

Run the network troubleshooter advises all is working properly, no suggestion.

    Attempted fixes:

Turn off all extensions on IE (but don't forget Firefox and Avast! are also unable to access.)

Disabled all start-ups and the package process

Restarted in Safe Mode - still not able to access.

Ran check complete virus, then check virus run start. Minor ad-ware 'virus' not found, all corrected automatically.

Rebooted the router and the computer to infinity and beyond! s

Tried other computers using the same ethernet cable connected to this wireless routers cable, no problem accessing the internet.

    Disabled functions package

    Off MS Firewall

IP Reset configuration (memory: netsh ip net reset c:\resetlog.txt - without DOUBT NOT EXACT - OF THE MEMORY.) Command worked)

As I said, this had happened before and then miraculously fixed itself after a short period (less than 1 week). This time, no joy.

Of course, it's one of two things:

    (1) a configuration problem I just can't find/understand.

    (2) the problem of equipment more strange, more selective, in the universe.

    Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Thank you more can I possibly Express for assistance.

You could win the lottery and have a lot of beautiful children!

    (M.) Kel

    Hello team zig - zag,

I wanted to thank you for your help. I finally broke down and reached out to our friends at Microsoft directly for assistance. They had me a role through all the things that you suggested (again). And finally (after many hours of phone and chat discussions) came up with an answer: "* shrug * we don't know what is the problem - choose a restore point and come back to that.» What I did. This has solved the problem of internet access, but created other problems I'm trying (nothing that I have to post here, they are specific to a particular program package).

Still, I wanted to thank you for your time and effort on my behalf. I'm very, very happy!

    All my best,

    Kel

  • No internet via ethernet on my Satellite C660-1LCD

Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-1LCD running windows 7. I have a router Thomson TG784 that connect to the internet via ADSL you.

My problem is that the PC connects to the internet through the router using WiFi, but not through the cable.
I checked that the cable works and connection to the Internet on another PC, so there is something special in the connection between the Toshiba and the router.

I went back to factory setting on the Tosh and replaced network adapters.
I also had the balance sheet to support PC, so I don't think it's the material.

When I connect to the router, the connection of the material is there.
When I ping a website, then I get a time out and a message that the computer is not possible to connect to the DHCP server.

I also checked the setting on the router has recommended to the operator.

Is there a setting I should do that I'm missing?

    Many thanks in advance,
    Anders

    > When I connect to the router, the connection of the material is there.

Have you checked if IP address and other parameters in the TCP/IPv4 protocol are set to automatically assign

In control panel navigate to the network & sharing Center
Then on the left choose the change adapter settings
Now, right click on the Local LAN network connection and choose Properties.
Now you should be able to choose the TCP/IP protocol now, go to settings.
You will find the IP address, DNS, etc.

  • My new Inspiron one 2020 does not connect to the internet via ethernet.

I have connected my a 2020 new victory 8 to our office via a network cable and the following occurs: Broadband connects to the router, but not internet access. I can reach our router and see the router configuration and status screens, but not the internet.  The rest of our office has perfect internet access. I tried two calls to support, and abroad, people insist that they go through their material problems even if the network adapter works obviously.  I suggested that it was probably a problem of windows security, and they said to reinstall windows.  Very frustrating.  Any help out there?

I finally got internet connection ignoring suggestions from tech support and following my instinct that he was related to security.  First, I removed the McCaffy and turned off the windows firewall.  Then I crossed the ip configuration for the 6th time and ended up dhcp and my dns settings in tcp/ip to work and I had internet.  Firewall turned on him again and consider using Windows Defender.  I complete installation tomorrow after that updates Windows Update are downloaded while I'm resting.

What is the manufacturer and model of your laptop?

Visit their web page (the manufacturer) and find their drivers and help section and get the drivers for your model laptop for Windows XP 32-bit.

You, of course, this done from another machine and using some external media to get it back to the laptop.  You can get * just * wired or wireless network drivers if you wish - you can then use the Internet on the laptop again to get the rest.

  • Send and receive data via the Ethernet Port?

  • Windows 7: no internet via an Ethernet connection, wireless is fine

Look for help here because I'm stuck.

PC laptop Toshiba 3 year. Ethernet and wireless have both worked fine with XP. Since the upgrade to Windows 7, my without wire is fine, but I can't connect to internet via Ethernet. Other computers in the House are connected to my router and work very well. I have configured an IP address manually (as I have on other computers) with no luck. Auto setting it will not longer work. I use just TCP/IPv4 (v6 is not checked, the old router doesn't support). I've played with just about everything I can think of and still no luck.

The strange thing is that when I try to load a Web site, the data seem to flow in a second. For example, go to google.com, it will look like its loading but nothing will come. Then comes the text will come after 20 seconds maybe, but not the logo (ie the graphics). It will just hang there and expire. A normal webpage I visit will simply sit on a white screen then Firefox will report it is "done" at the bottom, but nothing appears.

I also can not log - on to my router, same problem, it won't load the web interface page and any waiting period.

Under the "Network and sharing" Center, everything seems to be fine. It will say I am connected to my network, and diagnostics will not find something wrong. Yet, no internet.

    Any ideas?

I would reinstall the driver again, so uninstall in device and then Manager re - download the driver from the website of the manufacturer of your computer, and then install restart your computer, restart your router, and then try again

    Hope I helped...
  • Share Internet connection between two computers

I have a laptop running Windows Vista Ultimate 32 - bit and a desktop computer running Windows XP Professional 32-bit. Both have the latest service packs. The laptop is connected to my WiFi and I need to share it via ethernet. I could just use Connectify but I don't feel like it. What is the best way to share?

If the office is not close enough to get a cable (or you don't want to drill through walls), buy a wifi USB adapter for the office.

If it is close enough to run a cable but the whole of the Ethernet ports on the router are used, buy an inexpensive Ethernet switch.

  • Cannot share internet MacBook (Mac OS 10.5) with Toshiba A200 (Vista)

I try to share internet via airport. Internet is not recognized on Toshiba if I use protection via WEP, although Toshiba is able to connect to the network of the Macbook (which means that the WEP works, because if I get a bad - there is no link at all), but with limitations. When I use the unprotected connection, everything is ok!

Help, please! Perhaps, there is a Toshiba utility which can be used instead of standard vista tools to make these connections (ConfigFree did not help).
    Thank you.

As far as I know these tools does not exist. ConfigFree is designed to provide oversight on all possible connections and also offer a possible solution if there is a connectivity problem.

All that s! If your Toshiba laptop works well and you have no problems to use available LAN or WLAN connectivity there is the end of the story.
