How to connect Essbase/Shared Services 11.1.1.1.3 to LDAP

Hello

I just installed Essbase 11.1.1.1.3 with Shared Services. I never have it connected to a corporate LDAP environment before. I remember the last version 6/7 etc... There was a CSS file that need edited. Is that still the case or do I have to go in Shared Services and configure etc...

Thank you

Hello

Configure you everything through shared services, have a read of:-http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/epm_security/ch05s05.html

  • SmartView 11.1.2 cannot connect to Shared Services

I posted this thread in the forum of essbase, also...

I installed 11.1.2 on Windows 2008 (64-bit) standalone. I also Excel 2007 is installed on the same computer. I took all the default ports when configuring the server instance. I installed SmartView(32bit) on the same computer without error. When I try to connect to "Shared Connctions" through the SmartView home window, I keep receiveing an error message: "failed to connect to the Shared Services Error Message: ' cannot connect to the provider." The server name cannot be resolved. "I tried to change the name of the server with its IP address, I tried all the typical ports; but can't seem to solve the problem. My URL reads as follows: "http://testsys:13080 / work/SmartViewProviders space ' I have a 11.1.1.3 instance on another server works fine, but the URL is slightly different (http://server:13080/aps/SmartView).» I have tested and confirmed that all shared services are running and can be accessed from the Regional service console or a web browser. Any help would be appreciated.

Connection via URL http://: 19000/area of work/SmartViewProviders should work.

Have you converted essbase in native security mode for the security of the shared services.
In environmental assessment, right-click Security and select "Externalize users.

  • Connection to the Service of PAPI process when you use LDAP

We have Oracle BPM 10.3 put in place with the help of LDAP as a directory for the participants. To connect to the service of process PAPI we want to use a system id which is a user but not put in place in LDAP. How can we do this? Y at - it a special group of role or security necessary for this user, i.e. should the privileges of the user Admin process?

    Hello
Yes, this will definitely need a password, which is the same as the password that you will use to connect to the system (workspace BPM or the external application that makes calls PAPI).

The way we have implemented is: we have a J2EE application (app A) external which makes use of calls papi, deployed on weblogic. The BPM engine is also deployed on the same weblogic domain. The BPM application can then be configured to be used in mode Single Sign On and deployed. In such a scenario when a user types in the url for the workspace BPM, the login page for app has will be shown.

The Protocol LDAP that you use to configure the BPM directory also lets you create a security provider in the field of the safety of the weblogic (using the weblogic console). This will ensure that any application (in this case Soft A) deployed on weblogic will use this users/groups to this LDAP for authentication purpose. This completes the installation, and we need A app and BPM application both authenticating to the same LDAP protocol and application of BPM is set up in SSO mode.

When the user comes to the login page of the appA, the corresponding servlet can store the password in the session and then to the app worklist page (if you wish). BPM login page not coming, since BPM can authenticate the user based on the login in the appA. Later (let us say that during the execution of the external task; when the appA servlet is called from BPM), you can use the password stored in the session to create the object papisession for the logged in user.

I recently started a blog, where I have an example of PAPI (as it is one of the issues preferred users BPM). You can check

    Hello

    Disconnect from shared Services
Go to PARTY, select one of the application, with which you have a problem, start the the right click 'register '.
Connect to Shared Services, now the "assign access control" should work for the application.

    Ok?

This means essbase struck with Shared Services? If so can you please let me know the steps to register again?

I know to remove the instance Essbase Shared Services and new Externalize user will do, BUT can you please let me know y at - it problems doing?

In the morning today only we are facing this problem.

    Thank you

    Alain

    Hello

Problem has been resolved. Worked with Oracle and review Essbase.

It is corrupt and possibly RDBMS openldap.

Solution: Manually (via MaxL) has deleted all requests for services shared and deleted essbase server then outsourced to the users to register with Shared Services.

    Thank you

  • Shared services

I installed and configured 11.1.2.4 recently on server r2 2012. The current environment of EMP 11.1.2.1 is installed under 2008 r2. They are currently using Essbase, financial reports and Shared Services. My question is, how do I migrate shared Services for the new facility. I read book after book and can't seem to understand.

If someone has never successfully done it can get a walk through how?

PS: As I have said in the past, I'm very green at oracle.

It would be by EAS or a file system copy that you tried.

  • Users that are not not in Shared Services

I created a Hyperion Planning 11.1.1, application commissioning has been done perfectly, while providing access via "* access control report *" I couldn't pick any user, including native users as "admin", none of the users are in the field available users or groups. "

Configured applications of Hyperion which: Essbase, Planning, Shared Services and space to work with SQL server 2000.

    Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

First of the security warning means that all dimensions standards need to access permissions applicable to them (account, entity, scenario, version)
Also administrator doesn't have the same constraints on access permissions, which means that you do not need configure the security of the members to the admin user

If you directly connect to shared services (http://: 28080/interop/index.jsp)
Expand user directories > native Directory > users > New > annotates
Right click on the new user and available, give the user one of the planning no administrator roles, I would say that the role of Planner.

Now you connect in planning and try and assign permissions member access, you should be able to assign permissions to the new user.

I installed essbase, more Bi and Bi Plus and Planning.Esbase have been configured and managed. I finished the planning also the item instance configuration and data source step.

When I connect the shared services, I do not see the planning and also the menu 'Navigate-> request' is missing from the workspace.

    I installed 9.3.1

    Thank you

    Hello

I'll make sure that you have configured the web server plugin correctly, run the hyperion configuration utility, choose "analysis and Hyperion Reporting ' >"Set up the Web server"> ensure that planning is checked and the server information is correct > then click Next and leave the configuration of the utility.

  • Server copy of the images between devices - break Shared Services?

Upgrade to 11.1.2 and servers pass test to the production environment. We want to configure MSAD with Shared Services and fixed deposits on our shared production SQL Server.

Our final goal is to copy the image of the 11.1.2 servers (not the shared sql server) and turn it on newer hardware.

My concern is the properties/java files that can hard-code the static information that may exist on the original farm.

No matter who with 11.1.2 makes a picture to another server hardware and has experienced problems of connectivity to Shared Services or repositories?

    JTS

If everything has been recorded against the name of the computer, then in theory, you should be fine if everything else is to stay the same, it should allow IP address changes.
I know that in the early days of the system 9 he had some problems with the IP being stored, but it should not happen now.
Although I cannot give you a 100% guarantee because there is no guarantee with 11.1.2

  • Regarding shared Services

    Hi friends,

Here is a general question about shared services. I outsourced an essbase server. I created a user of shared services, and when I created a user iam looking for option where the user can change the password for their first login. IAM unable to find this option in shared services. Please let me know if you have an idea.

    Thank you
    RAM.

    Hello

If you want to return to native mode essbase can later convert mode shared services?
Not something I would recommend to do, but maybe possible, you will need to remove the essbase Shared services project, stop essbase, rename or delete essbase.sec and rename ESSBASE. BAK_preUPM to essbase.sec, startup essbase.

    You should still be able to set the limit of "Inactive" in environmental assessments or use Maxl for example alter system set session_idle_limit x minutes;
