Shared Services project

When we create a classic Planning Application, one of the first things he asks us to do is to select a Shared Services project. I don't know what is shared Services, can someone explain to me what exactly a SS project here? And what difference does make to the user or developer? What is the consequence of the choice of one SS project rather than another? I can't find anything in the SER60, BUT in the case where I missed it, please direct me.
Thanks in advance...

Basically, there is nothing more than a grouping, or say something, he lets you just put say planning applications against a project called planning to say, there is nothing to say about it, really.

    Hello

Please could you help me to create planning applications.

You will need to create a new application group in Shared Services, it is simple to do - Create Application groups

Once you have created the group, you should see it in the list of projects of Shared Services when you create a planning application.

  • Migration of LCM - Instance name?  Shared services project name? Data source?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Situation
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    * We have hyperion 11.1.1.3.24
    * Objective - trying to migrate files LCM of our DEV to UAT environment
    * DEV LDCS alone has enabled planning application ("budget"), little EN reports & other related artifacts.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Up to now
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    * Successfully exported these 4 (EPMA, shared services, planning & EN) of our DEV
    * When you try to import EPMA in our UAT, noticed that the State indicates failure. (Notice how claims have been reported in other posts as well.)

Another dilemma that I have what should I write on the name of the Instance, the name of the Shared services project & the data source.

    * Instance name = >? I'm not sure. How to find it?
    * Shared services project = > have not created one at all. Thus, those who do I use OR how do I know this?
    * Data Source = > I guess, it would be the name of EPMA repository database?

Although I can migrate all the artifacts in our (the same as our DEV) UAT, Migration status showed as "failed". Is this due to the fact that I jumped Destination options with empty values (for example, shared services and data source). Has anyone ever had success on this stage of the Migration.

OR should I simply ignore this state of migration, because we can see all of the identical artifacts in our UAT.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you connect EPMA and choose an application and select deploy (don't worry, you don't have to deploy, you can cancel it until you do).
It displays a popup that will be the
Name of the instance (usually the default), Shared Services project (drop-down menu displays the groups of different applications available), the Data Source (this is the name you gave when you created the source of application data)

  • What is "Shared Services Project"?

    Hello world.

What does "Shared Services Project" which is when the Hyperion Planning application is created mean?

Is this right need be selected?

    Please notify.

Shared services is the place where all the stuff of unique signature take place between different applications, Hyperion. It also includes the management module Life Cycle that is used for the migration of applications. You can think of such as shared services shared services projects where you put your apps into folders. You must associate not only planning, but all possible applications of Hyperion with her. You can create a project yourself and match your applications with it, or simply use one of the existing ones such as 'Group of applications by default'.

    Help me to solve this...

  • Regarding shared Services

    Hi friends,

Here is a general question about shared services. I outsourced an essbase server. I created a user of shared services, and when I created a user iam looking for option where the user can change the password for their first login. IAM unable to find this option in shared services. Please let me know if you have an idea.

    Thank you
    RAM.

    Hello

If you want to return to native mode essbase can later convert mode shared services?
Not something I would recommend to do, but maybe possible, you will need to remove the essbase Shared services project, stop essbase, rename or delete essbase.sec and rename ESSBASE. BAK_preUPM to essbase.sec, startup essbase.

  • Application analytical Server lack of project in Shared Services

Slowly rebuild my trashed development server. However I can not access the Essbase server via EAS without getting a network error 10061

I noticed in my list of projects that I don't have the server for the Project Server analytical value.

I save again with the SSP on analytical Services? If Yes, I tried that to no avail...

    You are looking for ideas.

    JTS

    Hello

You may need to convert essbase natively so try and convert again in shared services mode.
This means back to your file essbase.sec back to before it was converted in hss mode.
Doing this means that all items stored in the s file will be lost such as essbase app/db configuration settings, filters.

If you want to try this method, stop essbase, rename essbase.sec to any name, rename ESSBASE. BAK_preUPM to essbase.sec
Start essbase and it should be in native mode, you should be able to hopefully convert in hss mode then.

  • Planning application no no projection in Shared Services 11

    11.1.2.3 version

Last week our planning database got corrupted, do not know how, but it happened.  I went through the steps to recreate and restore the data, however, there is a small problem.  The application is now not showing in Shared Services, therefore, that I can't access SmartView.  Here is what happened.

    1. because I'm a nervous nelly, I first renamed 'PLAN' "PLAN1" via EAS

    2. I then selected "Create Database" planning and had no problems, a new Essbase application and databases have been created.  The new application called 'PLAN' as expected

3 al ' Shared services, now, what emerges are two applications "PLAN1" which is clearly a single essbase application and "PLAN1" which is a planning application.

I can select plane1 as the planning application and can get security charge very well, however, in SmartView, users cannot connect.

How the world make it only show 'PLAN' and get rid of the old "PLAN1" applications.

    Thank you!

Finally, I felt comfortable enough to register the application with Shared Services.  A few seconds, the problem was solved!

  • Disappeard rules Instance business in portfolio of projects in Shared Services

    Hi all

I have this strange thing that happened to me today morning. When I logged in the SSP I can find business rules file but I could not find the instance for it. Is there a way I can reconfigure so that I can see the back of the instance again in Shared Services.

Environment: Windows server, Hyperion version 9.3.1

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

One way to solve this problem is (although this is done at your own risk)

Open Microsoft Word from a remote machine
    File-> Open-> http://HSS_Server:58080 / interoperability/content/files/products /.
Log in as user admin native
HBR - 9.3.1.0 right click and delete.
    Maybe restart HSS.

Run the config utility and EAS to reregister.

  • How to choose the account used for the sharing service Google/Gmail?

I am always connected to three separate Google/Gmail accounts at the same time. Each is used for different projects/types of communications (e.g., personal work, another project). I want to use the service of sharing, but when I click on share it does not give the option to choose which account to use. This makes the sharing service for the most useless. Could you if you please correct this? Thank you!

I missed this: https://activations.cdn.mozilla.net/e.../gmail.html and, even though I am connected to multiple accounts. I asked the team about this feature. However leave a comment for developers input.mozilla.org is also a great place to request this feature.

  • Not available in Shared Services planning

    Hello

I am trying to reinstall a complete platform of Essbase (workspace of the Foundation, Shared services, Essbase and planning everything in version 11.1.1.3). I only have the documentation carried out by the person who installs the platform.

Nevertheless, I have a missing point planning.

The installation process has ended successfully, but when I try to create an application of planning (after creating the data source), planning is not available in the list of projects of shared services.

And, it could be linked, planning is not available in the workspace (wheel > Applications > empty | refresh)

I'm not very familiar with the planning, so I don't know where to look to fix this problem. (I guess I am missing a step in the creation of the Planning Application)

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Planning does not automatically exist in Shared Services, you must go in shared services and create it manually, once it has been created, you will be able to take when you create an application.

  • Type of user to the Shared Services

    All,
    I'm on 9.3.1
So far I have users only to the planning application.
Now, most of the users above have need to access an application native essbase (with planning).
In shared services, under project-> AnalyticServer-> AnalytciServer, only users are listed (no groups) and their Type 'user' is planning.
Now I have to change them to "Planning, Essbase" for each user.
I found no "user Type" in the corresponding section in the export of the CSSImportExport utility.
have many users, is it possible to automate?

    Thank you
    Krishna

You could look at using maxl

    For example

    ALTER user user_name add application_access_type Essbase;

    or

    ALTER user user_name add application_access_type planning;

  • Don't see a number of roles in shared services

11.1.1.3 using: I noticed that in shared services, I do not seem to see all available roles. To my planning applications, I don't "see:"
    Directory Manager
    creator of the application
    dimension editor
    Project Manager

    However, I see:

    Provisiong Manager
    Administrator
    Interactive user
    Manage models
    Planner
    user of the view
    offlineuser
    allocation of mass
    Access to write analytical Services
    Cube creator

    Is the above normal?

The other roles that you mentioned are the roles of shared services and should be there if you expand shared services and do not intend.

  • 9.3.1 planning vs. analytic servers for Shared Services

I'm new to Hyperion and I did some reading, but I don't understand what the difference between having an analytical application saved in Shared Services as a Planning app vs under servers. If someone could point me to some documents it would be much appreciated.

I currently have a regestered application as a planning application, but I want to put a few Essbase filters on the database. According to the documentation, I need to have it registered under analytic servers.

    Thanks for any help.

Initially, the Hyperion planning is a specialized planning and budgeting tool. Applications created under planning are very well also be sufficient budgeting and forecasting needs of the Organization, so the roles defined under planning will be different from those of Essbase.

As Essbase contains plannig data, a single planning application gets deployed as an application of essbase. But the initial application, implemented, metadata are all site through the Web Console of planning. Thus, we save planning app with shared services separately in respect of planning projects to differentiate the roles of planning of regular analytical server roles.

More information can be found here.

Refer to Appendix A of the Hyperion Planning AdminGuide and doc above would be useful.

About the filters, you need to create security filters in planning web console and push them to essbase.

    I hope this helps!
