• Advanced action not updated on the click box update

  I inherited a model with a quiz with boxes made from boxes to click. In its current form, the user can cilck the button submit without clikcking on any of the 6 boxes (not an ideal situation for a trial).

  I created variables for all click areas and associated with 0 (set checkbox 1 with 0... etc.).

  In the in the slide, I have on enter slide Execute advanced Actions, I have AND of statements indicating that if the checkbox is = to 0, then hide and disable the button send... and I am doing this for all the checkboxes (if checkbox1 = 0 AND checkbox2 = 0... etc.). I then an Else, indicating to display and activate the submit button.

  In the clickbox I have when it is activated (there's a box for clicked and clicked not), I put the variable checkbox to 1 between 0... that means that the advanced Actions 'should' be updated with the new variable to 1, but it does not work.

  I think it has something to do with the click boxes because it seems to stall the reading head and not continue to run the advanced Actions. It's my guess only as that is the question.

  Removal of variables is possible in Captivate 9, not in previous versions. Even in CP9 that it's always a bit tricky, some variables seem is always 'used' so that they do not.

• The playback controls replace the click box

  This applies to both Captivate v4 and v5

  I have a project with playback controls that include the Pause/Play.

  I want to add two click boxes on a blade that the learner must click ' before being able to move to the next slide.

  When the slide reaches the first click box, the control Pause/Play display changes from Pause to play and the user can simply click on the "Play" option to work around the click box and move to the next slide, click point on the slide box, click 'replay' and then move to the next slide without having to go through the boxes click the slide.

  How can this be avoided so that the learner has to go through the slide via the boxes to click and do not use the set of playback controls option?

  PS. Playback controls Pause/Play are essential for the entire project, so do not show are not an option in this case.

  The simplest is hide the playback bar upon entering this slide and show again to the next slide. It is not possible to hide a button.

• My button overrides the properties in the click box

  
  I have a slide with a box, click on it and it is linked to a URL.  In properties, I checked the "project of break up to what the user clicks on" because the user must check the URL before you continue.  I have it set to display text stating you must click on the link again and again before you continue.  It works well with the following exception:

  I have a button at the bottom of the slide even for purposes of recognition and button properties are set for the user to go to the next page when you click the button.

  When I save/publish my project, the project allows me to click on the button and move to the next slide without first clicking on the click box and display of the URL.  It's almost as if the blade is in 2 sections.  If I click around the area of click, but not in it, I get the failure message "you must click on the link and review the document before you continue.  But if I go inside the same Blade (further away from the click box) and click on my button, I don't get the failure message and I go to the next slide.  The button is the substitution of the rule of the area to click on it.

  Any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

  If it were me, I would hide the properties button. Then I would create a tip Action that is assigned to the click box. Configure the tip Action to display the button and open the URL in a new window.

• Buttons and version 5.5 using the Click Box

  Using Captivate 5.5, in the same blade I try to use a box click to access a URL, but also to pause the slide with a button continue. When the click is selected, the URL is displayed, but the Captivate project moves to the next slide. My goal is to have the project on hold and require the participant to click continue to go to the next slide.

  With the above said, if I deselect the option to continue playing the project on the click box, continue it button does not appear.

  Can anyone help?

• A4: The Click Box and feature button

  I am creating a slide of summary in a project of capitvate users will consider before taking a quiz.  I would like this slide contains hyperlinks on various documents.  I want users to have and an unlimited number of time to look these over, and then click all they are interested in and then click a button to continue the quiz.

  No matter what options I put the click box, the project will continue for the quiz when a user clicks one of the hyperlinks!

  From what I have seen that you have specifically selected off the options to pause the movie until the user clicks. So now you're stuck as to why the film is not a break.

• Problem opening URLS in the click box

  I cannot start a file from a click box. I enter the url and deselect contine, running project. I have test the link in the preview and it works fine. However when I publish the file of the click box does not work. I click it several times and finally all that happens is the next slide appears. Something that should not happen at all.
  
  I tried using the buttons instead, again it works in preview, but not when I publish the course. I also tried selecting and deselecting her continue running Project box.
  
  Someone at - it had a similar problem? Know of a solution?

  Often we see problems when you try to run the project to your local computer. Could be Flash security settings. If this is the case, see if the tutorial below the help link.

  Note that this affects only playback on the local PC. If you have decided to copy the files on a web server and your users will run from there, you have nothing to worry about. If your intention is for each user to copy the files to the C: drive and run from there, then you concerns. But there are solutions if this is the case.

  I'm working on a Captivate 7 project where there are a number of objects on a slide, and I created an advanced action that uses apply effect to expand all objects off the slide (except those I want to stay) in addition to extra zoom content in the slide when one of the objects is enabled.

  Here are the problems I encounter:

  1. Some zoom not completely out of the slide objects.  They stop near the edge but do not disappear.  When you click on the original, click object a second time, it seems to go all the way.
  2. Zoom into objects should be soon same time that zoom of objects, but are not, until you click again on the original object of click.
  3. I added a button display to come in (that works) and I try to find a way for her to show all the original objects without having to create a new advanced action to make things zoom in place.

  If anyone has encountered these problems before and can offer some advice?

  Zoom in and Zoom out don't really move things anywhere.  These effects simply change the size of objects expanding from small to large (Zoom In) or their narrowing between big and small (Zoom out).  So in addition to the effect of zooming, you will probably also need to add a motion effect that moves the objects off the stage more.

  Looks like you have problems to control where the effects because you apply them via advanced Actions.  It is a large area of frustration for many Captivate authors.  Some successes to report by creating a custom and then effect by modifying the XML file created in order to gain more control over the timing.  However, be warned that this requires getting your hands dirty with XML code and is very tedious.  Captivate provides no default is an easy way to control the timing of the effects if you apply via advanced Actions.

  For your button show that I propose that the simplest solution is to create copies of all your objects, remove their applied effects and just place them in the same positions that they would be at the end of their effects, then use your button to perform an action advanced to view these copies of the original objects.  Much easier to control.

• Help advanced with effects

  In fact, I have no major problems of PE learning other than which would contribute to a faster computer. I also started to use the effects to correct color and adjust the tone as well as keyframes to animate the movement. Because I taught at Photoshop, the effects of what I need are understandable. So far so good.

  What I'm looking for, is if anyone knows where I can find info on the optimization of the use of effects. For example: there are a number of ways to correct color; What is the best method to use for a specific problem (global warming an image, correcting an imbalance of the color, etc.). A number of effects using the temporal smoothing; What are some guidelines for temporal smoothing values and how these values change for different subjects (slow/fast moving, high/low contrast). In what conditions you want to mix with the Original and how much. And so on and so forth.

  I understand the market for the EP, but hope there are more advanced information out there so I don't have to reinvent the wheel of knowledge of myself. Thank you in advance if you can help.

• Use the Click Box several times

  Hi all

  I have seen several posts on very similar topics but I'm looking for advice on my particular problem. I have a slide that contains multiple images. I would like to have the learner click images and an explanation of the image both written and spoken. I finished this ok using the standard box click a speech of fixation to the legend of success on. I would like to provide several opportunities to see the content of the learner. Out of the box, click boxes seem to work only once. I saw a few other messages that refer to advanced actions and the ability to reset the time that the object was used. Can you please direct me to either a lesson on this particular issue, or post a solution here...? I discussed intensively on the internet and found nothing so far. I use 6 Captivate.  Thank you!

• problem with adujstments applied to the image after I click it to preview in Bridge

  I used the bridge to view my RAW images and open them in ACR for years... yesterday I downloaded a map full of images in a new folder on my computer and open as usual, bridge view.  For some reason any now when I'm in Filmstrip mode and I am interested in the large preview image, and then click on the preview of the image with the magnifying glass tool to display a small area, it seems to apply some sort of adjustment to the image.  My pictures you more light in the Center and more dark on the edges, almost like a spotlight/edge Center burn setting... and these changes are carriers through more cab when I open the image there.

  I checked to make sure that the automatic adjustment checkbox is unchecked in Bridge and ACR.  Everything in ACR seems to be to default settings.  I restarted my computer.  Don't know what to do, else, I am very frustrated!  Hoping someone here might have some ideas for me.  I'm under Bridge CS6 and PS CS6 with Camera Raw 8.1.  Thank you!

  It's so strange, because he has recently started to happen and I didn't modify parameters of any where... camera, bridge, ACR, or CS6.

• Insertion of several subforms instances with app.response on the click event.

  I could use help untangle this click event. I can't make it work the way I need too. I tried a few different variations without success. The part I have a problem with is in the loop and inserting multiple copies based on the user input to the app.response event. I have a script version that works with no loop, but who will not allow the insertion of multiple instances of the subform feature. Would appreciate any help on how I can do this.

  Your rendering engine must handle data being null without raising an error.
