Sharing files between devices using internet?

Because I use my cell phone for internet connection I need to know if file sharing between my phone and my computer or iPad using this connection. It becomes expensive to use this connection and I need to watch - and to limit my use. So far I have not found information on how Lightroom uses the net.

As John said, there is an option to avoid using cellular data - simply press the Lr logo at the top left and you'll see it there:

Note that you can activate it works at will, so if you need to synchronize "just this once" you can turn it off temporarily (remember to turn it back on when you're done!)

I installed VMWare tools on the guest-os (Win2003R2). I started Win2008R2 nine as host and shared folder did not work. I thought that maybe it works with OS experienced as Win2K3 and built a brand new Windows 2003 host and once again no shared folder. Later, I found above document, saying: it is not supported at all then, is there any altarnatives.

Only way I see is, add a dummy WinXP guest with "bridged" n/w, to play the role of trading place for exchanging files b/w other guests and the host. In my case, it is very important to keep the others invited Win2003 unware of outside n/w.  This strategy XP, just to share the log file is an exaggeration.  I guess people must have solved this problem in a more elegant way, if so please let me know, if there are better ways.

Host is able to ping Guest, but not the otherway, and I think, it's because unless configuration host only the client ethernet adapter is not connected to the physical ethernet adapter of the host.

Should not be.  Windows is concerned, host-only network is just like a physical NIC connected to a physical LAN.  It's just that in this case, the cards are virtual and the LAN is separate from any other LAN.  In short, your physical host as "two network cards", the physical on and the only host.  The host only one is connected to a virtual switch.  The only other thing connected to this virtual switch is NIC of the virtual machine

Host is able to ping Guest, but not the otherway, and I think, it's because unless configuration host only the client ethernet adapter is not connected to the physical ethernet adapter of the host.

As noted above, do not need to connect to the physical NETWORK card because the parameter invited only creates a LAN completely separated between the physical host and the virtual machine.

If there is procedure to this share windows works, please give me more details. A shared windows is all I need (without resorting to the NAT) to Exchange data between G & H.

At this point, traditional troubleshooting techniques can be used.  If the comments can not PING host, host has disabled firewall?  But if your goal is to share a file from the guest virtual machine, then PING the host comments is not essential.  Simply the host can display the actions on the guest.  (In fact, PING is not essential whatever it is, as long as you see the shares.)  And you look at one/PINGing by name or IP address?  If you do not need, just use the IP address to remove any DNS resolution problems.

  • sharing files between windows8 windows7and homegroup

    How can I do?

    Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community.

A homegroup is a group of computers on a home network that shares devices (such as printers) and libraries (such as your Documents, photos, music and video libraries). With the help of a group residential allows for easier sharing. Your homegroup is protected by a password, you can change at any time.

When you configure a PC with Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows RT, a homegroup is created automatically. If a homegroup already exists on your home network, you can join him.

After you have created or joined a homegroup, you select the libraries and devices that you want to share. You can prevent files or shared folders, and you can share additional libraries later. You can choose who can and cannot change your shared files.

I suggest you to refer to these items and check if that helps.

Using your router, you can set up a working group between the two

  • Can I create a homegroup between devices using Windows 7 and Windows 8?

Hello. Upstairs, I have a pc with Windows 7 home premium. My printer is connected to it. Downstairs, I have a new laptop with Windows home premium 8.

The PC is connected to internet wireless. So the laptop, except that it's pretty close to the top for one Ethernet cable to use.

I would like to have access to the printer from my laptop and to be able to share files.
A solution via a homegroup, but Microsoft Help says that both devices must be running Windows 7.
    Is this correct?
If so, is there another way I can access the printer from the laptop?

  • Sharing files between computers win7

I have 3 computers. All with win7 home premium. A few days ago, I added 2 HD 1.5 TB to my MAIN computer and set up a main data HD and one HD for the back upward. the original HD is home to the operating system. I've set up the sharing and started to load the folder of my other computers to the new MAINDATA of my MAIN computer drive. Everything worked well for 10 hours I spent moving files. I stop all computers for a few days. Then I started all 3 computers and it would be completed moving files. The MAIN computer works fine, however, the other 2 computers show a RED 'X' by the player on the MAIN computer. I went to the main computer and tried to find out if a session is running. Not running the session. I ping the MAIN computer on the other 2 computers. They both recognized the MAIN computer. I can't read the main computer. What can I do to solve the problem?

  • Sharing files between Windows 7 and Windows XP suddenly stops working

I have a set up working groups between Windows 7 and Windows XP computers.  I don't usually have a problem of file sharing, but suddenly XP computers do not connect to the server from Windows 7.  It will work for a while and then stops.  In order to solve this problem, I have to restart the server from Windows 7.  However, this problem occurs more and more and I would have preferred to find a permanent solution.  I checked all the normal solutions (IE firewall, no passwords, etc.), but I still have this problem.  I'm sure that all my settings are correct, as I am able to connect most of the time, but I know that there must be a solution out there to fix it permanently.

I read a post that I'm not sure is related to my question:

This problem may occur if the IRPStackSize registry entry on the server is set too low. I was unable to connect to the XP PC from any other PC on the network. Set ip 15 and problems went

If that is related, please let me know.

What is a patch that I need to download for XP computers?

Any help would be grateful.  Thank you!

I suspect that the limit is 5 concurrent connections for Windows 7 Home Premium, but I still need to find a reference book Microsoft.

  • Synchronization of notes on a PDF file between devices

Hello world! I have a lot of .pdf files on my iCloud account. Some are books and some academic articles. On both I underscore, take notes, mark of things I need to remember, delete the other parties and so on. I am looking for a solution that will allow me to study these files on a device (i.e. my iPad), and that, later in the day, find the same file (with all the notes I made on my iPad) on my mac. Basically I want the files to be synchronized on all my camera. I tried iBooks from apple, but I can't always do what I need, sometimes I can not stress even at all. He loves pdf expert, but when I transfer files from my mac to my iPad via iTunes file transfer I don't know how to put on my mac once I studied them. I love pdf Mendely manager but when it come to synchronization, with only 10 GB of pdf files, it becomes quite expensive (€15 per month). Since I bought storage iCloud is a solution involving such that I bought extra space? As always, thank you for your time! Fulvio
