Sharpness brush setting to-100, the bits of the image unaffected.

When I use the adjustment brush and set the sharpness all the way to the left (-100), the area affected by the brush strokes show small pieces of the image that don't appear to be affected. Ultimately the picture shows weird atrifacts research.

Lightroom is sometimes also very slow. So Mutch that I have to stop working. I tried every bit of advice given in the FAQ. My computer, although its a reasonable specification, is a little older.

Does anyone know where this behavior might come or what to do to fix this?

  • Compression setting specific to the image when you export to PDF

I have a document with about 15 images 48pp some files .ai, .psd files and .tiff files placed in it.

Is it possible that I can use jpeg compression on all images except one where I want to ZIP compress to keep all the details in an image of the card which is placed as a .psd ATM? The only thing I can think is to export all the separate bits in the form of files tiff/jpeg card images and select no compression in the export dialog, this reduces the flexibility in the production phase and is a chore, I prefer to be without future workflows.

Not at once. You can first export all the pages with a standard compression and then a page with different settings and later merge/replace in Acrobat.

  • Can I use the basic on the brush setting?

When I use the Brush tool, if I try to click on 'basic' and the straight line he simply does not do anything, he returns to the round 3pt. You cannot use the basic on the brush setting? Only the pencil?

"Basic" is not a brush. It should read "base hit". By clicking on 'Basic' removes all the attributes of the brush of the track.

The "basic" element in the brush Panel because users had some difficulting to know how to remove the brush attributes has been added.

So, no, you cannot use "base" as a brush.

  • After masking, remains the image is see through

I'm a Photoshop newbie and I appreciate your help in advance.  I watched several tutorials on how to hide a photo to remove the background.

I have a picture of a person and I need a little complicated to remove background.  No sweat.

After following the instructions by clicking on the button for the camera, then the brush and go around the image and fill in, and then clicking the camera looking again the key and then delete, the background goes away (Yes!)  but the picture remains visible through. The image is substantially transparent.

I tried this technique with .png files and .jpg with the same result of masking.

My brush opacity is set to 100% which is info I got when googling a solution.

Can anyone here tell me what to do or ot do?

Try looking for a tutorial using the Quick Selection tool and refine edge to make your mask. I think that might give you better results than the paint mode mask quick.

There are a lot of detailed information that you can learn the tutorials that I can't (don't have the time) go in, but basically pure white in a mask will not hide, pure black in a mask mask completely. Gray values will hide at different levels of transparency.

Look at the mask in my post... The values are pure black and white, and pure, with a bit of gray in the transition.

I thought that it maintains the width-height ratio when it is locked. But it does not work.

I tried several times, but the lock seems does not work. When the image is inserted, lock the padlock. Then I can always arbitrarily change the proportions with the mouse by dragging the lower right of the image. Then the lock turned out be unlocked.

Everything works exactly as expected. The lock maintains the aspect ratio only when you change the width or height value in the property inspector. It has no effect when you resize an image by dragging with the mouse. The padlock will appear unlocked as a Visual indicator that the aspect ratio has been broken.

Hold down the SHIFT key when you drag an image to resize has always maintained the aspect ratio.

  • Pse5 LOADING A BRUSH SET

Yes, we rebooted pse5 - even restarted the computer.

    Help!

    Thank you all

    UPDATE *.

I found where he saved the new together and copied to the places where all the others.

    now PSE5 considers appropriate.

How any other set will again be saved in the right place?

    Thank you all

You are using vista or windows 7 and the 32 or 64 bit?

In the preset manager when you save the game (save set in the preset Manager dialog box), go to

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Photoshop elements 5.0\Presets\Brushes

and see if you can save.

If you get the message that you can't, and he suggests somewhere like the documents folder, you can change the destination to your desktop, then move

the brush on the right directory.

You can probably also, right click on the shortcut of elements 5 photoshop and choose Run as administrator and you should be able to save the brush sets to

C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Photoshop elements 5.0\Presets\Brushes, but it's a pain, so I would just save the whole somewhere and then move it to the folder brushes in pse 5.

  • Loss of Image sharpness when using deformation of the puppet

    Hello

We use puppet warp on images of models recently, we turned and notice that there is a significant loss of sharpness after using the tool. Noticeable particualrly on the faces of the models.

Could hit the images with sharpening (again), I would like to know if it is common.

    All comments are greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    David

Hello David, welcome to the forum.

Puppet Warp manipulates an underlying network of the grid of pixels in the image. For this reason, it is best to first duplicate the image and convert layer to smart object.

You set way strictly and slide the pins to manipulate your image, sharpness tends to not be affected for the areas where the grid is compressed (hurry closer pixels together), but for areas where the grid is stretched, pixel spread and so decreases the resolution.

Therefore, a strategy to manipulate your image, compression of areas where sharpness is important (detailed areas like the facial features), while stretching the areas where sharpness is not critical (such as areas of out-of-focus background of adjacent low detail to a face).

Stretching of the grid are possible without significant loss of sharpness, about 3%, but this depends on the resolution of your image file and requires a little experimentation. Puppet Warp is a bit of a blunt tool to resize areas, with fluid being preferable to use the first Warp zones restricted.

    Hello

D: is not a partition backup of your machine.

Acer has a time set up their machines to the way yours is:

They had a C: drive for the operating system, a drive D: for data (music, movies, etc you would like to register and a recovery partition 'hidden' to reinstall the operating system and to make the recovery discs to do the same thing.)

You can merge C: and D: as a whole, BUT save all data on D: first because it will be deleted when you merge.

"How delete and extend a Partition with Vista disk management"

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/95418-disk-management-delete-extend.html

And YES, you back up the data on an external hard drive in case of hard drive failure, the corruption of the system, etc.

    See you soon.
