• Short Studio 3.0 cannot connect to the Service Provisioning

  Hello!

  After installation short 3.0 on Windows 2008 R2, the only box with Tomcat for the Studio, entering into the JSON string into the studio for Provisioning service, all I get is "Unable to connect to the Service of supply".

  It seems you are trying to use unsecured communication (non - SSL) between the Studio and the commissioning Service, but your configuration maybe isn't correct.  See the following: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E39271_01/studio.300/studio_install/toc.htm#Configuring%20the%20Provisioning%20Service%20for%20non-secure%20%20%20communication.

  In particular, ensure that in your plan, the value of the variable transport-guarantee is 'NOTHING' and the value of the protected-url-pattern variable is ' / DISABLED ".  If these settings are not correct, you may experience the problem you are experiencing.  Note that the case is important.

I have an application Measurement Studio c# which I am creating a WiX Installer for and I have problems to get the measurement of inside studio merge modules. I get errors ICE30. I'm using WiX 3.0.

  Our merge modules should work in WiX, as I have tested this several times. When you say that you have found ICE30, that fails your build? As you probably already know, one of the nice features of WiX is that you can set a flag so that whenever WiX compiles and links your source, it works ICES on them. This allows you to catch problems early in your development process. I guess you do is put the WiX linker fails if ICE warnings/errors are thrown. You can configure WiX for actions based on ICES advice you get. What is important is that you can turn off this setting, but it depends on how you are nvoking WiX (i.e. through NAnt, MSBuild, Votive, etc.). In any case, there are different ways to disable this option. What I would say is to disable the option, or be specific about which ICES to ignore. This decision would be to the you. The key is to understand what actually means ICES and determine if they are legitimate questions.

  ICE30 can indicate a variety of different things, but a common reason corresponds to the entries of the SFN. Some of our merge modules are always generated through Visual Studio deployment projects and VS created RFU very well. Thus, you're left with SFN entries duplicated in the MSM. Long file names are different, but the short file names are the same. WiX does this correctly which is nice, but unfortunately we can't convert some of these modules more MSM because of VS restrictions and limitations, that we found. It would be nice if better RFU created VS.

  Attached is a zip file that contains two projects that are:

  • C# project that produces the binary file that the Setup program will install
  • Project of WiX that creates the MSI file

  First, be sure to build the c# project. I tested the MSI that result, and it works very well on a target system.

  Note If you want to load the wix project, you must have the final version of Votive on your system.

  I use a HP desktop computer smart touch and a few laptops from Sony to run the application studio to mogulus.com.

  Use the mogulus studio, I can watch multiple video streams live as sources and monitor outgoing video as well. There's my video stream live from other computers/producers in 4 different States more video feeds of my two laptops. NOTE: see www.mogulus.com

  I am running Vista on all three machines. (I found that XP cannot handle 4 video stream, I got up to 9 with Vista.

  Audio wise, it has worked on all three computers.

  Mogulus studio, use Adobe to handle all audio and video.
  I can turn on or off the sound of my guests so I can hear them and coordinate that I then put on the air and see how long they need.

  The outgoing video monitor also has an audio mute button. When using the PC's built-in speakers, it's a MUST to mute the audio monitor outgoing when you go live, and then reactivate the sound when he in transmitting the other guests, or playing pre-recorded clips.

  I also have a Microsoft keyboard with maximum volume down and cut the buttons on my desk. Two Sony laptops have the same keys and worked perfectly, controlling the built-in speakers. The keys make it easier to mute the speakers to use the key mute in the studio during the 'live '.

  I decided that the Microsoft LX3000 USB integrated boom Mic headset would be the perfect complement to solve these two problems. I bought three of them, so I would have them on computers cell phones too.

  I installed the LX-3000 CD according to the instructions. Then I plugged in the USB cable to connect the headset/microphone.

  The sound of the headphones was superb. The boom Mic on the headset is a huge improvement over those built in monitors or webcams.

  Mute the Mic and speaker volume up/down on the cord of the LX-3000 is a convenience too.

  Use the headset no sound PC speakers. So, the echo is therefore more a problem.

  Use of the helmet, it is not necessary to mute the speakers. They are now closed all the time now. So, I go live, make an announcement, then play a prerecorded segment.

  That's where everything went south.

  I take off the headphones so I can take a coffee. I realize that now, I have no way of controlling the segment recorded through the speakers. I have no way of knowing when the segment is about to finish and I need to rush to the computer to make the next segment or live announcement. Being attached to the PC by a foot 3 cord isn't good at all.

  I try to do what I did with the analog headphone. Unplug the headphones to re - turn the speakers.
  No luck there. The speakers are still silent.

  I plug the USB headphones in. NOW I have no sound through speakers or headphones. The microphone in the headphones works well. like the mute of the microphone on the cord of the headset. Reduction in the volume of the buttons on the headset cable move the sliders up and down in the windows sound mixer, but no sound anywhere.

  I re - start.
  Now I get sound from the earpiece. But, not the speakers. All the volume keys on the keyboard, monitor and headset cable + / up and down the volume sliders but have no effect on the speakers or headphones. The helmet is at full volume all the time and PC speakers are silent.

  I look in the Control Panel, "speakers". I see that the 'helmet' has a green check mark and don't "speak". I select speakers and press the button "default". The speakers now have a green check mark.
  No change...
  I reboot...
  Now, the speakers work, but the headphones does not work. Volume controls move the sliders, but do not effect the speaker volume. None of the buttons mute function.

  This is totally unacceptable. The only way to switch between speakers and headphones is through the re-booting the PC and Control Panel. Cannot do when playing a mixture of 15 the second live commercials ads and 30 seconds.

  This is where it gets weird.
  
  While in Internet Explore on the page of mogulus studio, or Flash media encoder, the outgoing audio monitor goes to the HEADSET. If I start another copy of Microsoft Internet explore and reveal my mogulus channel drive, the sound of it goes to the PC SPEAKERS.

  Looking at the volume mixer, I see that if I select the "peripheral" "as speakers SoundMax integrated Digital HD Audio", there is only one application, the 'Sound' volume control and control the sound of the IE. players page.

  Bob, you can proceed as follows which allows different devices to be chosen for different applications in Windows:

  Close all programs, are preparing to open the first program which will use headphones...
  -Right click on the Volume icon and select playback devices
  -Select the headset as default device and open the program that you want to use this device, it will play on the current default device (helmet)
  -Now right click on the Volume icon and select playback devices, set speaker to the default device
  -Open the program you wish to play on the speakers

  The original program will continue to play on the headphones and the second program will continue to play on the speakers.

  Because of the helmet to helmet USB when you unplug them this device is disconnected (uninstalled) completely, she's not as expected with analog headset.

• Visual Studio 2012 and VMWare workstation plugin does not work

  Today we moved to Visual Studio 2010 Visual Studio 2012 in our project.

  After installing VS2012, I installed VMWare workstation 9. To my surprise, it did not appear any menu in Visual Studio VMware. In the previous version, the menu item will automatically appear by the installation of VMWare. We use the VMWare plugin to debug Visual Studio applications on the virtual machine remotely.

  Does VMWare workstation 9.0 support Visual studio plugin for VS2012?

  My version of VMWare is 9.0.0 build-812388 and my version of Visual Studio is Visual Studio Premium 2012, 11.0.50727.1 RTMREL.

  The VS plugin that comes with 9 Workstation does not load in VS 2012 due to some changes in the interface COM vs.  The next update to 9 Workstation will correct this problem.

  I have this scenario with regard to the studio. The studio application has been set initially at DataDomain1. Then I put it in DataDomain2. Yet once, when I put the return of DataDomain1 none of the reports work!... It seems that all the EQL is erased and the configuration of the components is not retained. May I know the reason for this behavior. Is there a cure for keep an underlying the field of data even when application configuration settings is changed to a different area of data? Help you enjoy.

  That's exactly my point.  If the two data areas are totally different from each other, where is the value in preserving the configuration?  All components would not need to reconfigure?

  For example, let's say I have a configured component of guided Navigation to view the 5 groups of attributes.  Then, I want to pass the application that contains this component to point to a completely different data domain that does not have one of these groups of attributes (because, as you say, the two data areas are totally different).  What is the expected behavior?  I now have all of this configuration pointing to 5 groups of attributes that do not exist.  The configuration is totally disabled.

  Same would go for a chart bound to a view (example: 'Sales') with a bunch of parameters related to it based on some attributes.  If the data areas are totally different (as you said), the view would exist even in this new area of data?  Probably not, but let's say it was the case.  Are the same attributes?  They all do they exist?  What are their types?  By saying that the two data fields are totally different, you seem to indicate that the attributes would be totally different.  So even if the table had retained its configuration, the configuration would be totally useless and not valid?

  Now, there might be a portlet out there (say, a bar of Metrics) where the configuration is not valid but "fixable" (maybe?).  However, for the most part, you're views of design and configuration of the components for a data set.  When the underlying data is completely changed, the default behavior should be to keep around invalid configuration or slate?

  Note that if you want to change the data source connections in a given application (for example, I was bound to a Data Source that was limited to a few 'Sales' and I also wanted to include "Customers"), this feature is present in Application settings > connections to Data Source (with an option to keep the configuration).  However, I don't think that's what you're asking, and not what is intended by changing in the world of the field of data for an application.

• Performance and benchmarking tools for short

  We are in the phase of Performance & Benchmarking of our short 3.0 - 9.2 PeopleSoft project. We use CloverETL to import data from a view TFTP to short. We load a large amount of data to really test the limits of short (approx. 50million rows). We use Integrator Server to run the ETLs, but the newspaper which is produced from the Integrator server is not very useful. Can anyone recommend a performance and a benchmarking tool for short that could give her more information on where time is spent during the ETL process?  It must also produce numbers of short Studio reference for large volumes of data. Does anyone know of a benchmarking tool that can give us specific times to set up a page in short (other than a stopwatch) Studio?
