Shortcuts in Windows Vista

When you type e-mail, a new tab opens whenever the letter 'T' is reached. Also seems to be some shortcuts introduced when various keys are affected. Very frustrating and cannot understand why this happens. Also in the case of Word, often together sentences or paragraphs repeated (also seems to be shortened by some key strikes). Using WIndows Vista... no response would be appreciated!

CTRL + T opens a new tab. When you have a sticky control key.

Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

You can check the corrupted system files. Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type sfc in the search box, right-click to SFC. EXE and click run as administrator. Then, from the command prompt type sfc/scannow.

Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log. To make, click Start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools. Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

  • Windows Vista updates (12 April 2010) broke all the desktop shortcuts

On 13 April, I fist notice this problem. I managed to it is resolved according to restore my computer to a previous point prior to the windows vista update have been installed. I didn't create a new restore point and also forgot to uncheck "automatic installation of windows. A few days later, the same problem after updates have been installed again on April 15. Unfortunately, this time I don't have a restore point previous April 15. So, I restored it on next day 16, but not resolved the issue. So I uninstall all vista windows update installed on April 15 but did not help either.

Fortunately it affects only an admin user (user account that run windows update) all users are very well.

    Hello

I see a long list of drivers that need to be updated: O
But I m not surprised because all the drivers of Toshiba pilots and as far as I know these drivers are designed for only the WinXP. Request as a result of update.

But as you may know Vista is not official on the market and that's why you won't find any Toshiba Vista drivers on the Web site.
I think that Toshiba will offer drivers if Vista will be official on the market.

    Hello

To be honest I n don't know why the Tablet feature stopped working but I suppose that its software problem and fix it by reinstalling driver/software.

First of all I recommend you to uninstall the following software components:

    _Value-added paquet_
This package installs a range of important public services.
-TOSHIBA components common driver is an essential component of Windows Vista. He will have to make the other original programming TOSHIBA works correctly.

-TOSHIBA utility Rotation: set the orientation of the screen by default as the system to be used in the transition from the PC to Tablet mode, or vice versa.
-TOSHIBA Tablet PC buttons driver: you can dedicate the buttons on the tablet to perform common tasks so that you can easily use your tablet PC away from your workstation. For example, you can dedicate a button to open a program or to change the orientation of your screen.
-TOSHIBA accelerometer utilities: these utilities are a set of material utilities that work with the integrated motion sensors you machine. With the accelerometer, your machine will be able to detect how you're holding it at one point. You can set the machine to perform a specific function when the device is tilted quickly left or right, either at the front or back. You can also take control of the cursor in some applications and move by leaning the PC in a certain direction.

    _Dual Driver_ touch
-This driver is the model and touch screen digitizer. It activates the feature PC stylus or finger can be used as a pointing device.)

After the mentioned tools have been uninstalled, restart the laptop, clean the system using a tool like CCleaner 3rd.

  • iTunes crashes on start up with Windows Vista

For the last week or so iTunes crashed during startup to the top in Windows Vista. I have the 32-bit version. I tried to uninstall and reinstall. This doesn't seem to help. When it plant, I get a blue screen with a lot of text that does not stay up long enough to read. Then, the computer stops and restarts. I tried to install different version of iTunes, 12.1.3.6 and especially 12.1.2.27. I tried a restore of the entire system to a restore point that I thought was the problem. That no longer works. I did a full antivirus software scan and found no viruses either. I have run out of ideas and would appreciate any help that is available. Cannot synchronize calendars from Microsoft Office to my iPhone.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Make sure after you have uninstalled all the components Apple to remove iTunes shortcuts from the desktop, taskbar, or start menu before you reinstall.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

The game is compatible with the 64 bit version of Windows Vista?
Are you able to play games properly?

  • Cannot open all of the games on Windows Vista. A message from frror there is no file association

All the games that are part of Windows Vista more show this message

    Hello

Welcome to the community of Windows Vista answers.

This happens if the IsShortcut registry value for .lnk (shortcut) file is deleted in an attempt to hide the overlay icon in the shortcut. To resolve this problem, re-create the IsShortcut registry value.

Follow the steps mentioned below to resolve the error message you get.

    1. Click Start, type regedit.exe in the instant search box and press ENTER

    2. navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile

    3. in the right pane, create a string (REG_SZ) named IsShortcut value.

    4. close the registry editor and restart Windows.

    REGISTRY WARNING

Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

Try using the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker to check and repair corrupt system files.  To do this, follow these steps:

    How to run scan SFC

    1. click on the Start button

    2. on the Start Menu, click all programs followed by accessories

    3. in the menu accessories, right-click on command line option

    4. in the drop-down menu that appears, click the "Run as Administrator" option

5 If you have the enabled User Account Control (UAC) you will be asked to consent to the opening of the command line. You simply press the button continue if you are the administrator or insert password etc.

    6. in the command prompt window, type: sfc/scannow then press enter

    7. a message is displayed to indicate that "the analysis of the system will start.

    8. be patient because the analysis may take some time

    9. If all of the necessary files any replacement SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Vista DVD for this process to continue

    10. If all goes although you should, after the analysis, see the following message "Windows resource protection not found any breach of integrity.

11 after the scan finished, close the command prompt window reboot the computer and check.

  • I get an error of binding of the program trying to reopen the Windows Vista Games.

    From: Brian

When you try to open a standard game installed, IE solitaire, chess, mahjong, I get the message error "file doesn't have a program that are associated with...". "" Under turn Windows features on and outside ', I have uninstalled/reinstalled and still the same error message.  Under default programs, I don't get the options for games.  I can run the games of "all programs" and create shortcuts on the desktop and they work, however, some of my family members are struggling to do it this way. "  Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    From: Brian

Steve - very good suggestion.  You have to change the registry.  If you are not running an improved version of Vista, under Start, search, type regedit, and go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile. Click Edit, new, string value and name IsShortcut. Name should have a red ab at the front and is of type REG_SZ.

If this is an upgrade version, it is difficult to tell the location of the folder. Click on modify, search for, and then type in NeverShowExt and this is where the entry IsShortcut must be created.

After installation, restart and the shortcut arrows should be back and the links in the Games folder should work.
