  We have just implemented the vCenter Server 5 and get that some 4.1 ESX servers migrated to host ESX 5.

  Previously, there's a Service guided Consolidation (converter Plug In) vCenter for vCenter Server.  Is there a similar product for vCenter Server 5 or use the stand-alone converter in the future?

  With vSphere 5 there is no available plugin more. Just use the vCenter Converter Standalone.  André

• Cannot install agent converter on Windows 2000 server

  I was unable to install the converter on a Windows 2000 Server agent.  Initially, I tried remote and encountered a 1603 error which I think is a generic windows installer error.

  So I moved the VMware converter-all-4.3.0 - 292238.exe for the Server Windows 2000 itself and ran the exe there hoping to install the agent.  However, when you run the exe file that I meet "VMWare vCenter Converter Standalone requires Windows XP or later."

  Windows 2000 Service pack 4.

  1.2 GB free on the C: drive, 25 GB free on D:

  From the local administrator account

  Have deleted the domain server (it is now in its own working group)

  Have applied the latest updates from Ms.

  Restarted.

  1. each pending restart

  2 conflict with the existing driver or version of VMware Converter

  Try the following...

  1 restart the computer and run the Setup again

  2, if there is already an existing version of converter installed, try uninstalling the VMware Converter, restart the machine and install VMware Converter 6.1.1

  If there is no data on the USB key, you can use Windows 'Disk management', select the 'full' option for each new partition.

  If there are data and the Flash DRIVE has only one partition and then use "MyDefrag" ( http://www.mydefrag.com/ ) to activate the defrag AND move files toward the front of the drive. Then use "Disk management" to shrink the partition and create a second partition on the "Unallocated" space.

  I have 2 machines to esxi 5 that are managed by vcenter 5. I try to use VMware vCenter converter standalone to move 1 vm to another virtual machine. I click on convert machine, then put the IP address to esxi1 and select the virtual machine that I want to spend, he is arrested. Then I put the IP address for esxi 2 and the error I get is access to the settingsis host resource limits for the x.x.x.x (IP to the vcenter server) server which manages the host. Use the destination administration server.

  I tried to remove the virtual machine from the inventory on the original machine, but then the program don't see it. My vcenter is installed on one of the esxi server, in this case, it would be the destination for the virtual machine. I don't think that has nothing to do with it, but just FYI.

  If you mount the cd vc on windows virtual center server.  In the file converter, run vmware - converter.exe.  There should be some balls contained in folder called vminst.log and vmceservermsi.log.
