Sierra download on my iMac (24 inch, early 2009) w/8 GB memory

Sierra will not download on my iMac.  I get the following message: "we could not complete your purchase.  This version of macOS 10.12 cannot be installed on this computer. »

I have an iMac (24 inch, early 2009) w / 8GB memory running OS X El Capitan v.10.11.6 that meets the hardware and software requirements for installing Sierra.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sierra requires an iMac Late ' 09 or newer.

I started in 'safe' mode and disconnect all external devices.  It occurs again, but perhaps to a slightly lesser degree.  The overall reaction is slow, with simple activities, taking a lot of time.  for example to move a small folder to a new location, took nearly a minute to complete.  Ejection of an external drive, took a minute to complete etc.

This started when I upgraded to El Capitan and has been progressively worse since then.   All ideas are welcome please?

No, your early 2009 is too old. The first iMacs that could be used are models 27 "late 2009 through the use of your iMac as a display with the target - Apple Support Display Mode

  • What is the speed for OS 10.10 on 13-inch, early 2009

My 13-inch, Early 2009 MacBook runs with OS 10.9.5 basically OK on speed, and it's a very good, loaded with the fine software is useful but old and slow sometimes with all additional popups and deflect and is very nervous about the links I don't want and mail that I didn't delete.

The system is pushing me to the update/update 10.10 and I continue to resist the Apple push, the fear of losing what I have and I'm really happy with.

I was looking for the answer among existing similar concerns, but did not get the simple answer and clear what will I win by the new OS 10.10.

My fear is real or just scared?

Apple has removed 10.10.5 and 10.11.5 from the App Store, so only your option upgrade is 10.12.

  • iMac (20 inch, early 2008) will not restart after that put 10.11.4 updated

    Plug the iMac:

Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

    Memory: 4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT 128 MB

After the download is finished installing, I clicked to restart.  When the computer restarts a gray screen with the Apple logo appears with a progress bar indicating "Installing Software Update".  The progress bar begins to move slowly and stops after about 1/8th of an inch.  It does not move little matter how long wait.  I tried to reboot safe mode, but I get the same thing.

  • Ethernet card not being detected on my iMac 20-inch early 2008

    Hello

A few days ago my ethernet started playing up on my mac. I tried different cables and routers but no solution. All my other devices are very well via the same port. I tried to remove and then add a configuration in the network system preferences tab, but the ethernet option is now missing.

Then, I went into system information and found a mean message:

I really need help. A Wi - Fi connection is good enough for me.

By chance I just started having this problem, too. Yesterday everything was ok and I have disabled by Mac before hitting the bed; This morning the Integrated NIC is no longer detected and I have the exact symptoms that you have.

    A few extras:

    (1) I have boot camp, and the NETWORK adapter still works perfectly when it is started in Windows

    (2) I use a power adapter carrier online, and the led indicates that the cable is connected. as soon as I unplug the end of my mac, it turns off

    (3) I did PRAM reset without success and SMC

    (4) I started in diagnosis and everything is ok; I carried on the forest, where you can browse the site of support, and it worked even with wifi disabled, so clearly he was going off the coast of my wired connection

    (5) I started in recovery and had the same experience as point 4 - the network card worked perfectly

If all this seems to indicate something being off on the BONE itself.

2 GB of RAM is the absolute minimum to install El Capitan. If you want to run all programs then you need to increase the amount of RAM.

  • Cannot update software on MacBook - white, early 2009

I'm new to Mac OS.  I only got the iPad and iPhone.

    I bought an antique MacBook, white/early 2009.

-OS x 10.6.8 4 GB of ram, 107 GB available hard - not SSD disk

Great, runs fast.  The case seems new, perfect condition.

It is said there are updates available, for many things, but they won't install.  I have download, the system begins to restart, but remains on the desktop with wallpaper only - no icons, etc.  Manual reboot simply cancels the update process.

I don't need this notebook, I just want to get some applications or programs that connect with applications on my other devices, but this version OSX is too old.  Therefore, I made a mistake buying this MacBook - only error of $100.  Don't know if I'll keep it.  However, it is pretty sweet.

Please use the numbers of the BONE, if possible, when you reply.  I don't know the names of the different versions - like Maverik, El Capitan, etc..

    Thank you

The computer that you identified as MacBook5.2 (13-inch early 2009)

should be able to run El Capitan OS X 10.11.6 as it is downloaded from

the Mac App Store online. This is the download of the available system only

which would be upgraded to the latest OS X.

Other than this free update, the other option would be to buy a

old Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.5 redemption code Online

    Apple Store, which would then be used in the App Store for download;

It would cost $19.99 (buy at the Apple Store; download App Store)

Don't know what you found or tried to download. Remember if you try

to use the Mac App Store since in Snow Leopard, you

Use your own AppleID because all updates and upgrades will bind the

OS X computer and just bought the software to your AppleID.

And any subsequent owner of this computer should adapt

the Snow Leopard 10.6.8 using App Store database. The

model that you probably won't be able to use the next OSX

not yet released version; El Capitan is what should be judged.

If you upgrade to a system later has no install DVD media,

the owner later would need boot Snow Leopard 10.6.3

the retail DVD and then update. While they could use their AppleID to

Customizing the computer for their own use. So to enter the

install the disc media for the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 system with the

computer, is a key to set up for future upgrade online users.

There are other details in the present, perhaps someone can offer those

because I need to be offline now.

    Good luck & happy computing!

    Hello

    Mac hardware requirements

For more information about your model of Mac, click the Apple in the top left of your screen, choose about this Mac, and then select Details. These Mac models are compatible with Mac OS Sierra:

    • MacBook (late 2009 or newer)

    • MacBook Air (late 2010 or newer)

  • Can I put my 24 inch Dual Core IMac (early 2009) 4 GB ddr3 1067 Mhz RAM to 16 GB ddr3 1600 Mhz (it says maximum of 8 GB for this model)?

Can I upgrade my 24 inch Dual Core IMac (early 2009) 4 GB ddr3 1067 Mhz RAM 16 GB ddr3 1600 Mhz? I read that it only can be upgraded to a maximum of 8 GB but I'm not sure whether that was when they were sold or if the maximum capacity of the computer can take.

    Thank you for your help,

    Jacques Bizot

You can upgrade the RAM, but 16 GB ddr3 1600 Mhz is NOT designed for your iMac. Please use the RAM specifications correct, iMacs are extremely sensitive to the RAM and require the correct specifications and high quality RAM. Advanced users on these forums tend to recommend Crucial (buy directly from them) or if you are in the USA, RAM from OWC (www.macsales.com).

Do not buy RAM in your store, the local computer or cheap RAM at best, it's probably a waste of time and at worst it will simply not work.

  • MacBook Pro (13 inch, early 2011)

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, bought in early 2011).

    The specifications are...

    OS X Version 10.10.5, Yosemite

MacBook Pro (13 inch, early 2011)

Processor: Intel Core i5 to 2.3 GHz

My Mac has the ability to me safely upgrade my system for macOS Sierra?

If you have 2 GB of RAM, so apple says,

otherwise realistic if you have 4 to 8 GB of RAM the rest of use would probably say it's a safer bet.

  • Early 2009 iMac running hot. Hard drive problem?

    Hello world

    I have an early 2009 24 "iMac. (iMac9, 1, 2.93 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo). I am currently using OS X 10.11.4.

This problem started, summer 2014. My iMac has been in storage a year since March 2015. Here's the problem, when it started it was summer and very hot. I didn't have air conditioning. I got this iMac from April 2011. Bought from Mac of all trades. Obviously, they heat up on top, or at least this one does. The hard drive is a Western Digital WDC WD1001FALS-40K1B0, 1 TB drive.

At the point where I was running DiskWarrior, who reported that my hard drive was running too hot. The reader otherwise verified fine and so I downloaded Fans of Mac control, looked up what the operating temperature should be for this hard drive and set it to increase the fan speed, if necessary. Now 5182 rpm, it turns the hard drive cooling fan, and he reports 127,4 ° F. The room temperature is 82.4 °.

Now, let's move forward to this last week. I've had my Mac for storage, he had been in the garage of a friend of year-round, is his box. From the beginning it upward, it froze soon after establishing the office. I started on the recovery partition, and DiskUtility found that it could not solve problems. So I started from the eDrive TechTool Pro partition and run DiskWarrior. That was fine until the computer froze again. To reboot the partition e could not climb. The recovery partition would enter to Midway through the boot process and then hang. It's the same problem I was trying to start normally.

So after a long day of trying everything (I don't have a disc of starting of any kind, that I still have stuff in storage), the Mac finally started in the recovery partition. I ended up having to reformat the hard drive, make a new installation of 10.11 and restoration of my Time Machine backup.

After another day of tweaking, everything worked fine. Except the drive is always hot.

Today, it's back to freezing on me. I started the eDrive and TechTool Pro check sensors and generate a SMART report. The SMART report verified the reader, but watch it turns slightly on the warm side. And that was with the fans to run fast.

Then, after all that, I'll try to get an opinion on the health of the hard drive. If I put the fans for normal speed, now it is 2638 rpm and increase, and the reader is 138.2 ° F. This seems too hot for me. You can't touch the top of the computer for a long time. It is too hot.

Run the Apple Hardware Test disk two of your original grey install set.
