  I have a satellite M110 machine under XP SP3.

  I've tried two different brands of wireless USB modems. The two installation the corectly modem drivers and Device Manager shows this. However, pilots of Port of Coms do not install. The installation wizard displays the message "driver did not install correctly, Access is denied."

• Trying to connect using a 4 G Verizon Wireless USB Modem

  I'm tying to get an internet connection through my company of Verizon Wireless, with a 4 G USB Modem.  The latest information I got from them were to download a newer version of the VZ Access Manager from the internet.  When I did all downloaded correctly except the pilot does not, and then I learned that he was a "problem of Microsoft in all areas" and that I had to download a Pack from XP Smart.  However I get my updates on a regular basis and have done everything in my power to get my Vista Home Basic 32 Bit updated computer and keep says he is up to date and that the driver works correctly.  I have connected wih this unit for a day and 1/2 then it stopped working and I have not been able to operate since.  I logged until I downloaded the new version of VZ Access Manager.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times and have changed my USB port as well and even luck now, any ideas.  The new version has been for Compuers using Vista 32/64 and Windows 7.

  Hi, I have a laptop dell inspiron with Vista home premium preinstalled in it. For about 3 years I use GPRS (internet) with modem USB on it without problem. It was working fine but application stopped working 15 days before. I tired every thing from different forums but the only "Local access" message is fix... now, after trying a lot of different things I get of the internet world for 5 minutes but it goes to new local only access. But within 5 minutes no Web site is too load. I have no problem with my connection to the LAN and wireless. They both work fine(I hv tested). Its only for my nokia usb modem. I HAV tried to use GPRS to different operators, but it is givin local only access for all, and when consulted internet in all mobile phones are workign fine.  I also tried to use microsoft fix but it gave an error file not found and ignored den and ran some checks of registrey and claimed restart. But no change in connectivity.

  So I'm having a problem installing software called mobilink for my novatel usb wireless modem, actually it's not mine to someone else.  When installing the software directly from the usb port it will stop and say Error 1720.  He had the same problem with a modem former usb from the same manufacturer, but I managed to download the software directly from the manufacturer's website and installed without problem.  With the recent usb model, they do not offer the software online.  The Windows Installer is updated and saved, is this a problem with windows vista or any associated windows?   I would suggest trying the following steps and check if it helps.

  1. try a different USB port on the computer if possible.

  2. restart your computer and try again.

  Also remove any unnecessary USB devices and try to use the USB modem. And do a test if you experience different results with the laptop plugged in from the battery power.
