Signature of WebWorks code issues

Is anyone else having problems with the signature tool?  I ran the tool several times tonight and each time he ends up freezing.  I run this from the command line with the signature bbwp option and by Eclipse.  Sometimes I get 9 of the 40 signature applications processed, other times 1, 20 or some other number.  This last time, I had no success dedications.  No idea why?

JDK 1.7 can cause this problem.  If you have installed the JDK 1.7 please return to JDK 1.6 and try again.

I'm trying to restrict access to a store of PersistentObject using code signing. I created the public/private key pair and I also have my. KEY file. When I do following step it work very well:

you need a server to use this signature signature. AFAIK, you sign your apps as before, just with your own signature added server.

I tried to create a new project and move my files - but no luck.

    It looks like:

    Proj.COD not signed required RRT

    Proj.COD not signed required RBB

Not signed Proj.COD CPR in option

    Proj - 1.cod not signed required RRT<>

    Proj - 1.cod not signed required RBB<----???? where="" did="" these="" 3="" come="">

Proj - 1.cod not signed CPR in option<>

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

If you change the extension of a cod in .zip file, you will see that on the biggest applications, you have several cod and these files are named - n, with the first file sharing always the name of file with your primary cod. When you build your project again its intention to build a new cod. This has no impact on the signature, but it is important when you write your jad.

  • Signature of the .cod with custom key file files

Brand new on-site development of BlackBerry (2 weeks in)-so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place.

I am currently using the CodeSigningKey and the DatabaseFactory.encrypt for an application that I developed that will use a database.

I'm a ControlledAccessException during an attempt of the DatabaseFactory.encrypt with the key that I provided. I think it's because I didn't sign my files with the file ___.key *.cod correctly.

I use sqlitedemo as a guide files, and in the comments he mentioned that I need to create my own pair of public/private key using the administration of BlackBerry signing authority tool - I did. The question I have is when packing my request in the BlackBerry Java plug-in for Eclipse, sign tool is running and said that this particular key file is not saved with a server.

I found documentation on signing here:

    http://docs.BlackBerry.com/en/developers/deliverables/1077/BlackBerry_Signing_Authority_Tool_1.0_-_p...

And this guide mentions that I can use a tool of file signature to sign the *.cod file manually so that I don't have to worry about set up a server, as long as I know the private - key password what I do. Is it still possible to use such a tool? And if so - where could I find one for a Mac environment (I can run on Windows, if necessary (I did to generate the key file), but I prefer to keep everything on a single machine).

If this is not the case - there - it an easy way to configure the server and a better guide illustrating how to put in place the signature tool so that the keys are registered with my server?

Thank you very much for your help

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for the reply!

While it's an excellent resource it unfortunately not answered my question. Like all other documents that I linked earlier, this resource talks in Task 4, step 2 of:
'Start the application file signatory in the administration of BlackBerry signature tool '.

I had downloaded and installed the BlackBerry Signing Authority tool a few times (it installs really as "BlackBerry password based code signing), but never found dittos application sign. On a whim, I went into the folder, it was installed and just started running all *.exe that I could find. Finally, it is of the 'SigningAuthorityAdmin.exe' and 'SigningAuthority.exe '. The first will create the key, the second is the tool of "file signatory."

Hope that will help everyone in the future that awaits the names is compatible...

Edit: I have not found the Mac environment anywhere... so I assume that there is not.

  • Signature keys and code updates - bugs fixed and improvements

Apologies if I put this thread in a wrong forum. Please feel free to move.

I have a few questions about code signing and approval of the request and I would be really grateful to anyone who could please help me with that.

    1. I bought a single set of keys to sign my .cod files to deploy the portable device of code signing. Should I get an authorization from RIM or BB to deploy my application on a device in the following cases - i) if I want to use BB App store, ii) if I don't want to use BB App store and load the application manually from a PC, iii) if I want to use another installation for deployment outside BB OTA.

    2. for updates in my current application for example bug corrections or improvements, I needed to buy a new set of keys for code signing or those I bought previously would do the job (assuming that I sign my files from the same workstation COD).

    3. If the old code signing keys would be sufficient for the same application, but with some bug fixes and improvements, what all would I need to update either in my camera (if the application is deployed on the device) or on the BB App store.

    4. what happens to jar files? I also need to load jar files in my handheld device to run the application? If so, then I need to update the jar files in the event of bug fixes?

Please help me on the above questions because my project is in a very critical stage now. I will be really grateful.

    Thanks in advance a ton.

Your set of keys (files *.csi and sigtool.*) can be used for unlimited applications and for unlimited signatures.

There is no limitation for you.

Just make a backup of your key (*.csi and sigtool.* files) and restore JDE/bin folder when necessary.

This means that all the files of new/updated cod to date could be signed with the same key set?

You can use the keys that you have already bought for new and updated and you want cod files.

There is no need to buy these keys again.

  • Signature of the .cod gall!

    Hello

I use "Blackberry signature tool administration" for the signature of demand but in error - "with the help of Secure API."

Am I use correct signature for signature tool?

Yes, you use wrong tool. "Blackberry signing authority tool" is to protect your data against unauthorized access.

For the signature cod read this article

  • Two questions relating to the signature using restricted code API: s

    First question

I have a library that contains classes that requires the signature in order to use API:s. limited one of the functions in the library uses "persistent storage". My application accesses the library import library module, then instanciates and calls the function that I need.

Is it enough to have signed library or don't call asking the library must sign too?

    Second question

Is it possible to configure the simulator so it actually tests that the modules using API: s limits are signed correctly?

Check the Simulator definition "activate the safety of the device. When this setting is enabled, the Simulator checks would be signatures almost like a true pocket computer. For your application, which should be pretty good. If your module is missing a required signature, the simulated Pocket will complain even as would a normal hand.

  • Tokens signature and debugging code

I worked on an application using Cascades. I signed the app and it loaded on my Z10 and it works very well. If I then delete the token of debugging on the phone, the application runs is no longer.

I thought that the debugging tokens were only necessary to run unsigned applications.

What should I do to get the application to run without a token of debugging on the phone?

Start by importing a signed Release Build (file > export and then BlackBerry > Release Build)...

Then in Explorer under BAR packages, right-click on your .bar file and choose BlackBerry tools > install

  • file retrieved via JavaLoader.exe .cod signatures

Everyone could see the signatures for a .cod JavaLoader.exe file?  According to the following link:

    http://docs.BlackBerry.com/en/developers/deliverables/5779/Retrieve_infomation_about_a_cod_file_5123...

You should be able to do the following:

    JavaLoader.exe info - v MyApp.cod

and see the signatures for MyApp.cod but I don't see (I know that the applications in question were signed).

This ability was out of JavaLoader.exe (or it was ever really there?)

    Thanks for any idea.

I have confirmed that it is a mistake in the documentation.  JavaLoader does not support the list of signatures applied to a COD file.

This will be fixed in a future version of document.
