Since the reinstall drivers, my LG DVD writer does not read DVD
Original title: LG ELECTRONICS LG GSA T40N Super Multi DVD IDE burner
I had to re - install the drivers on this drive and then I noticed that there is more to read the DVD. This drive will now appear as a CD-ROM read only by car. When I tried to roll back the driver, the option was not available. Re-installing the drivers did not help and when I went to the LG site the disc has been abandoned and no support was available.
How can I get this drive to read DVDs? What is the problem with the drivers that I have updated to what makes them to record the album as a CD-ROM drive?
In the run box, type: regedit, and then click OK
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E3
25-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
With the right button of the upper filters button, if necessary, and then click 'remove '. Click on the Yes"" button.
Click the lower filters key, if present and click 'delete '. Click on the Yes"" button.
Close the registry editor and restart your computer.

My HP DVD 1135t burner does not read or write DVD but only the CD. What is the problem? Please help me.
CD/DVD players use different lasers for reading/writing DVD from the CD. All indications would point to your laser DVD as having failed. You could try to remove your drive and install it in another computer to see if the problem follows your player or your computer, but my bet is that the drive must be replaced.

I've just updated my LR to the latest version. Now, it does not read my files. I tried different cards on different devices, and none of them can be read by LR! Help!
It turns out I had to right-click on the LR icon and then select "Run as Administrator". That solved the issue!

Since the update to Firefox 22 Twitch.tv does not load the player more
I've just updated to Firefox 22 and no Twitch.tvplayer simply does not load. Just a black rectangle where the player is supposed to be and if I right click in this area, I get the same menu as everywhere else, which means that the player certainly didn't load. YouTube works fine however.
If you use extensions (Tools > Modules > Extensions) as NoScript , Adblock Plus or Ghostery which can block content, and then make sure that these extensions are not blocking the content or Block of Flash .

Satellite L650 - ODD does not read most of the CD or DVD after BIOS update
While DVD copy, asked me to do an upgrade of the bios for the included software on my laptop, so I thought that coming from toshibsa, it must be safe. I closed all my apps and let the update occur, restarted my pc and tried to continue to copy my dvd.
Now my dvd writer does not read most of my CD or DVD, original as well.
I managed to get hold of my previous Bios version after a battle before the update to see if I can go back to my old version, but the executable file runs a program that says the version is older then the one I use, so it will not load it.Any help would be greatly appreciated I have two days to copy 100 DVDs for a customer and I can't do it now,
I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L650 running windows 7 64 bit 8 GB memory with a SSD hard drive
> I can return to my old version, but the executable file runs a program that says the version is older then the one I use, so it will not load it
I don t think that the BIOS is the problem here, the point is that CD and DVD support details are stored in the firmware of the CD/DVD drive and NOT in the BIOS of the laptop.
So in my opinion the update of the BIOS is not the reason for your problem.I think you should check if cleaning the laser lens allows you to read discs.
Use a fluid wadding tip and alcohol to gently clean the laser lens. -
My Envy 17-1181nr just got Win7, reinstalled by HP. Now, the player plays BluRay very well but does not read the DVD-video. The drive makes noise, a video DVD of loading then the video starts and stops a few seconds. I uninstalled the device and reinstalled with the updated drivers. Suggestions welcome. Bill
Hi Bill,
My mistake, I forgot that your laptop is a slot player.
You should find that any store computer will store a disc, which you can load into the reader who will perform the cleanup - the disc itself was fine on brushes that will clean the lens. The only point I want to emphasize, is to make sure that when you ask one of these discs, make sure what you say it's for portable optical drive as some are not suitable for the drives in the computer.
Kind regards

The CD/DVD drive does not read discs
Hi, I have a COMPAQ Presario CQ40 with optiarc DVD RW AD - 7561 ATA Device driver, recently the drive does not work properly. It can read and burn the disc, that I already used, but when it's a new (disc white) it does not read the disc. It has an error message "make sure that the disc uses a format windows recognizes. If the drive is not formatted, you must format it before you use it. "the disc is the format that would recognize the system. I tried to uninstall the drivers and reinstalled from the Device Manager, but nothing works, tried too much microsoft fixit, always the same. Hope that there is another work around here... Thank you...
Have you tried using other burning software?

Satellite P200-140-CD/DVD drive does not read the CD
Hi all
I have a Satellite P200-140. The DVD/CD Player plays all DVDs without problem. However, it does not read CD. A message 'no disc' appears.
I've updated the drivers, cleaned the lens, completed all the normal tasks.Any advise / solutions out there?
Hello
Maybe you should try to remove the capital letters and lowerfilters in the registry, because you can often read here in the forum:
(1) run regedit (Start-Run-Regedit online online)
2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
(3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
(4) restart.I hope this works for you too! :)
Good bye
