Size Max SGA in 32 bit OS

Hello

I have an Instance of Production EBS (12.1.1) in a 32-bit operating system (RHEL4.0).

RAM: 16 GB, SWAP: 8 GB

Our sga size is 1.7 GB

Is it possible to increase the size of our LMS.

Please advice.

Thanks in advance.

If your system is windows based on the 1.8 GB is the largest LVO for your database
If your Linux-based system the limit of physical memory max on a system 32-bit thusly imposed by no longer support the hugemem kernel is 16 GB :)

I like windows 7 - I don't understand why the hell Microsoft does not have staff of digital photo or feel that he is not a necessity - was not necessary - to include the image resizer (such a small but effective and useful point) in windows 7.

Let me first start by saying:-I know there are other programs out there are perhaps those who are still free which is re-size of the images. This question goes to those who normally use, or perhaps use the toy of the power of Microsoft which has a Re sizer image and they want - if you do not change the pictures or knows no image editing etc.... Please pass this question...

I like windows 7 - I don't understand why the hell Microsoft does not have staff of digital photo or feel that he is not a necessity - was not necessary - to include the Re sizer image (such a small but effective and useful point) in Windows 7.

I am convinced there is no staff person at Microsoft who have an interest in photography because Microsoft has not come out with anything that looks remotely Digital Image Starter Edition and/or Suite or similar since it was released in 1996. It was 14 years ago. Think of the interest for photography and photography giant growth and product photography, etc... all this seems to have escaped to the spirit of an entire society for more than a decade. How is that possible? Then Windows 7 comes out, and with it, not a single program remotely associated with this boom in the huge market that is PHOTOGRAPHY and all that it encompasses. Not even the new SIZER IMAGE that Microsoft added to XP and was a hands down... feeling! Not in Vista and millions of complaints/requests to bring to the rear for - recycle for Vista - all ignored for the next 3 years - not in Windows 7. During this time... Mac sales are sky monte skyrocket. Was this all just too much to ask a simple society... couldn't you have at least thrown buyer of Windows 7 a bone and include the Power Toy Image Re sizer you missed in Vista and add it to Windows 7? I've read articles where other people say the same thing, I am at the moment - all eager to know W H Y?

The digital camera - videos - etc... the industry has exploded with new technologies and became 'the' new obsession/hobby/interests of thousands or even millions of people - make the pro little people who cared too long at all if they captured a moment on film. How does this "boom" (if you want) in the interest of this leaflet thought eyes and the thoughts and minds of ALL the creative staff at Microsoft... it's amazing really - who are the spirits of power/creation at Microsoft for lack of a better term - IDIOTS... My God - no one is STUPID THAT... because it is simply STUPID.

If Microsoft (and Microsoft is probably) a SILENCE behind closed doors with say ADOBE to promote ADOBE and AGREEMENT at the same time works back to create whatever it is perhaps at a more reasonable cost that are competing directly with ADOBE and others - and then go out with him... because it's really make Microsoft look STUPID and God knows they have accumulated more than way too many "STUPID" already in the years - come clean on this because this is a HUGE BEAST. And PLEASE... If you're not going to acknowledge the industry of digital image which is 1 million miles ahead of you already - please at least... re-the Power tool Toy "Image Re-sizer" for Windows 7 64 bit... which may not be so difficult or too much to ask - and if the statements that I made in this message are not sufficient reason - then please read thousands of blogs. etc... there where others wondering the same thing of you / Microsoft. Maybe the others they did on one your kinder, gentler. ?

We created the LUN via HP 'Array Configuration Utility' start to the top of the smart start CD, it went well. Downtown's watch that the controller sees the managed disk 1 lun. But when it comes to installed ESXi he did not see the big LUN. Is there a limit max?

  • Limit Max SGA on Oracle 9.2.0.8 on Win Server 2003 SP2 (32-bit)

I am trying to increase the total SGA to 4 GB on an instance Oracle 9.2.0.8 on Win Server 2003 SP2 32 bit version. Is this possible? I tried to find something on google and metalink but has not found any post answering my question.

    In my attempts:
I did 4 or 5 attempts every time try a step further, as explained below. On the issue of a start command, whenever I get the following error and the instance would not start.
ORA-27100: memory realm already exists to shared

    (1) I changed the sga_max_size in the spfile to 4 GB using
    * "alter system set sga_max_size = 4294967296 scope = spfile" * "
& stop instance successfully. It will not re-start and ORA-27100 I.
    (2) I stopped and restarted Windows Oracle service using the Task Manager, but no luck and I have seen the same error.
    (3) I tried to restart the server, but that did not help either and I got the same error.

Whenever I have to start the instance with the ORA (pfile) init file and recreate the spfile to restore the old settings.

  • Definition of size of SGA in 10g

    Hi all

We have a dual processor xeon server with 32 GB of RAM

    We have Six live database

One of a many users and most used databases has about 150 users.

According to the Advisor of the memory, we have changed the size of the sga - sga_target from 1 G to 3 G,

After a few days, he advises again for 6 GB, now we put the sga_target 6 GB.

But now again the conclusions of the consultant/ADDM memory shows always SGA insufficiently size and needs to be increased to 10 GB.

What we should in this circumstance? We should raise them, or to look for something to improve?

    Please notify.

    Thank you

    Vijayaraghavan.K

Doubling of the size of the SGA is estimated only to give you a 5% increase. Note the word estimated.

While it cannot be said with certainty that it can help performance significantly, which doesn't seem much of a gain, and may indicate that you need to look elsewhere performance improvements (if improvements are what you're really after). But if you have more memory on the server that you know what to do with, you can decide otherwise.

  • burning DVDs to the size max

While doing a dvd mp4 how can I do burn at the maximum size of the disk? My record is 3.5 GB (mp4), but when its burnt to dvd it narrows to 2 GB. Is it possible to burn the same (3.5 GB) on a dvd? Thank you.

Still must transcode an mp4. If your settings in Encore determine the bit rate and therefore the file size and quality. Better workflow is to export MPEG2-DVD (which requires the DVD specifications) of your editing program.

    Help, please.
I really want to learn the performance tuning, but I starter, so my basic are not that great.
Please suggest my good book for performance optimization.

As Pavan said, start with the manual of the Performance. Who has the basics. Then you should check book optimizer Jonathan Lewis to understand how to work on what is optimizer, Cary Milsap book to find out what is really wrong and by Antognini Oracle performance troubleshooting. Note that most performance issues are not magically fixed playing with CMS or other parameters of the instance. You are much better let the instance parameters where they are and check what is actually slow you down. There are many variables involved, and sometimes fixing a bottleneck can lead to a worse bottleneck.

    >

Let me explain my problem again so that I can get your attention or assistance
I have 1 job that takes 5 hours on production. I cloned db again and fast box (24 GB of memory), same work completed with in 40 min. I thought that growing
SGA will give us more performance gain, so I tried to increase the sga to 12 GB to 4 GB.
I faced the error ORA-27102. So I followed ID 301830.1
    and set kernel.shmall = 4194304
    kernel.shmmax = 12884901888
When I changed the sysctl.conf file and changed the shmall shmmax allowing 12 gig Oracle sga, increased runtime to 15 min; I don't know what is originally this.feel like shooting myself.

No need to shoot yourself, you just don't need to use the available tools to find out what the problem is. There are various things you can look at and tweak, but according to a methodology as Cary you can get right to the problem at hand. Sometimes even the statspack can point to the real problem.

It could be that you run in waste memory because you are or that you do not use hugepages, do not allow enough PGA for users to do their thing, who knows?

    Instrumentation knows.

This should give you a clue what 'more' does not necessarily mean 'best '.

  • Size of SGA and PGA

    Hi all

    I have a question.
What are the best criteria to define the size of the SGA and PGA size in oracle 10g? and size in oracle 11g memory_target?
Is related to the size of the data? What is the criteria and factors which affects setting the size of the SGA, PGA (10 g) and memory_target (11 g)?

    Hello

How can identify the best value for V memory_target $ MEMORY_TARGET_ADVICE?

We can take the example below:

    SQL> select * from v$memory_target_advice;

    MEMORY_SIZE MEMORY_SIZE_FACTOR ESTD_DB_TIME ESTD_DB_TIME_FACTOR VERSION
    ----------- ------------------ ------------ ------------------- ----------
            393 ,75 17909 1,0004 0
            524 1 17902 1 0
            655 1,25 17900 ,9999 0
            786 1,5 17897 ,9997 0
            917 1,75 17897 ,9997 0
           1048 2 17897 ,9997 0

You can see that 786 MB ESTD_DB_TIME_FACTOR beyond cannot be improved (it stuck here to 0.9997). So I may be updated (in this example) the MEMORY_TARGET 786 MB, I won't have any advantage to further increase.

    Hope this helps.

  • PDF size max

    Hello Madam and Mister

I use for scribble everywhere out of my artbord (800 x 600 pix) (edge of the whole) for some stupid reason I need to save to PDF, but it seems that there is a size limit for the page. What is the best way to do it for all, one of my bleeding ai.file, recording in a pdf file?

    Thanks again

    You're welcome, plvb.

as I am not very familiar with consultation of the drawing on the pdf, and I know it's still vector

I wonder if the size of the artbord has some significance for ease of consultation for the copyright.gov guy (cause every digital deposit on copyright gov needs to be check by a guy who check...) I don't know what he veryfie but he should see what it's your deposit)

I think that they are used in different formats, but you can try to put the artboard for A4 or letter and see if the work always fits one of these standard formats (A4 is a bit narrower than 600pix and letter is a little shorter than 800pix; pix is not really the right term to use, but in this context) , you can say that 1pix = 1 point (Point = 1/72nd inch).
