Size of data Cache is full

Dear,

I am facing a problem with the data cache. I increased the data cache. but it seems that there's something wrong with my business rule. In accordance with the following:

If you keep increasing the cache, but you still have this issue, it's time for you to think about your business rule or your design. Because more memory you allocate for the data cache, the more essbase RAM will succeed permanently (never released even the rule has already finished) unless you restart the app/Essbase cube

My question : is there away to restart the app/Essbase cube without restarting the Essbase Server?  It makes no sense that whenever I have test the business rule, I need to do a reboot of the essbase server, if it does not work properly.

Thank you in advance!

Yes power of the database in environmental assessments, in Maxl look alter application and unloading/loading of database statements.

See you soon

  • Dynamics Processor Calc does not reach more than [100] ESM blocks during the calculation, please increase the CalcLockBlock setting, and then try again (a small data cache setting can also cause this problem, check the size of data cache setting).

    Hello

Our environment is Essbase 11.1.2.2 and work on Essbase EAS and components of Shared Services. One of our user tried to execute the Script of Cal of a single application and in the face of this error.

Dynamics Processor Calc does not reach more than [100] ESM blocks during the calculation, please increase the CalcLockBlock setting, and then try again (a small data cache setting can also cause this problem, check the size of data cache setting).

I did a few Google and found that we need to add something in the Essbase.cfg file as below.

Dynamics Processor Calc 1012704 fails to more blocks ESM number for the calculation, please increase the CalcLockBlock setting, and then try again (a small data cache setting can also cause this problem, check the size of data cache setting).

    Possible problems

Analytical services cannot lock enough blocks to perform the calculation.

    Possible solutions

Increase the number of blocks of analytical Services can allocate to a calculation:

    1. Set the maximum number of blocks of analytical Services can allocate at least 500.
      1. If you are not a $ARBORPATH/bin/essbase.cfg on the file server computer, create one using a text editor.
      2. In the essbase.cfg folder on the server computer, set CALCLOCKBLOCKHIGH to 500.
      3. Stopping and restarting Analysis server.
    2. Add the command SET LOCKBLOCK STUDENT at the beginning of the calculation script.
    3. Set the cache of data large enough to hold all the blocks specified in the CALCLOCKBLOCKHIGH parameter.

In fact in our queue (essbase.cfg) Config Server we have given below added.

    CalcLockBlockHigh 2000

    CalcLockBlockDefault 200

    CalcLockBlocklow 50

So my question is if edit us the file Essbase.cfg and add the above settings restart services will work?  and if yes, why should change us the configuration file of server if the problem concerns a Cal Script application. Please guide me how to do this.

    Yes it must *.

Make sure that you have "migrated settings cache of database as well. If the cache is too small, you will have similar problems.

  • increase the 'size of the cache pending' of our cube ASO to capture whole database in memory?

    Happy new year everyone,

We want to take full advantage of our 54 GB of free memory on our server Exalytics X 4.

From this site, I read more in anticipation of the ASO cache size will reduce the disk i/o.

The default / .dat file size of data from our database of the ASO is 9.9 GB with more 100 million cells entry level.

We should increase the 'size of the cache in waiting"our ASO to 9.9 GB cube so that the entire .dat will be cached?

    Thank you.

    ===============

PS. Here's what I found in ASO Tuning white paper, which seems to recommend 512 MB or 1 GB.

ASO cache size has an effect on the performance of loading data. For

small databases with cells of entry 2 million or less, the default

ASO cache size to 32 MB is sufficient. For a larger database

with 20 million cells, 64 or 128 MB of cache is more appropriate.

A database with 1 billion cells or more, the size of the cache can

be placed as high as 512 MB or 1 GB if memory permits.

Put all of the memory base looks really cool, but my experience is that in most cases it is not necessary. In my experience, the benefit of the ASO cache decreases rapidly. Here's an example I wrote about running aggregations:

    Hello!

rule of Calc is in error and indicating that the error can be caused by data cache setting small size?

I increased the value, but it still gives the same error message. I can't stop and start the database, just clicked on apply.

I need also to check the journal rule and computation of the application to determine the cause of the error.

But the key is in the question in the header...

    Yes, you do.

  • Size of the cache on the server of Mirage

    Hello

on the Mirage server, we have defined a D: drive with 100 GB for caching.

The dirve is filled up to 99%.

What is the preferred size for the Cache Directory?

Mirage to allocates the full disk space each time?

Is it possible to redirect the Cache Directory in a unc path a set a limit for the size of maximum Cache?

    Thanks in advance

I think that the default is set during installation. If you left the default, I think that it is 10 GB. If you have defined the set of 100GB then uses this to the chunkstorecache used for deduplication and functions SIS with regard to CVD. I don't think that it would be recommended to redirect to another location you may meet other things that cause latency or other number.

  • CS6 disk cache reporting Full when it is not

I put a 120 GB Samsung Pro 840 SSD Pro on a Sonnet Tempo card in my 4.1 Pro Mac to use an undesirable effect of the Disk Cache, I have 100 GB disk cache

Recently, AE reports often is not enough space on the disk for the cache when I start it.  When I look at the operating system drive, it is said there are more than 100 GB available and the cache file is 10 GB in size.  A previous time numbers were different, but the problem was essentially the same - I should have lots of free space, but it does not see AE.

What the hell is going on?

This message does not say that the cache is full.

This message indicates that there is not enough space to safely store the amount of cache that you specified.

Thus, the cache can have 20 GB inside now, but After Effects said you if she fills all of the 100 GB that you specified, and then you'll encounter problems.

This is intended as a warning polite to tour to the future you set the total size of the folder too high for the amount of space you have on your disk.

You should never fill a disc completely. You must always leave a free space. Opinions differ, but 20% is a good amount of conservative to release.

Please suggest me how to solve this problem... There's fragmentation the culprit who don't let not releasing me a space?

    -Saha

the tablespace is fragmented maybe you defragment to free up space. There are several features to do more or less effective.

-change the movement of the table / index
    exp/imp
    -reduce the space
    -dbms_redefinition
    -DEC

each technology has advantages and disadvantages...
I suggest starting by shrink space, but do not start with larger items...

  • Vista will not display description of the file on mouse over. File name, Type, size, and Date modified see the upward, but no description.

Vista will not display description of the file on mouse over. When I mouse over, a pop-up window displays showing: file name, Type, size and Date of change, however, it does not show the description of the file.

So, for example if I have 5 files on different types of screw - the description tells me that the size of the screws. IE. 1.5 mm or 1. 8 mm.

Update: try to get the description of the file displayed messing around in the file properties, now out of 10 records, only 2 includes the name of the file in the mice on the pop-up window. So now what lack us, it's the file name and the Description file.

  • Current value of the data cache 0

    Hi all

The database I have is responsible, however, the CURRENT VALUE of the DATA CACHE, CURRENT VALUE of the INDEX CACHE, etc. show all 0.

What could be the reason why it shows 0?

He must have some numbers right?

    Thank you

Is there a schema and data in the cube?

I'm a little surprised by the index cache data cache may not be transferable by any space until you do really something with the data of the cube (extract, load, calculate, etc.) but key cache seems to be filled immediately.

  • Configure client PCoIP size policy image cache

    Hello

Above part of the GPO setting view PCoIP general Session Variables and controls the size of the cache client PCoIP image.

Is there any negative impact if the size of the cache above is set on a large number (for example the maximum 300 MB) and we use a zero client, which cannot do no matter what cached image (I think). I'm guessing that there is no negative impact, just that we will not see the benefit of the cache of the images, but I'd like to hear other opinions

    Thank you

    number1vspherefan.

The parameter is not applicable to zero clients so I don't see any negative impact.

  • How to interpret the data cache setting and the current value of data cache?

How to interpret the data cache setting and the current value of data cache? We found that even, we configure a larger data cache in Essbase 2 GB for example, the current value of the data cache is always much lower. Does that indicate an activities of data at very low recovery or something else?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

When a block is requested, Essbase searches the data for the block cache. If Essbase is the block in the cache, it is immediately accessible. If the block is not found in the cache, Essbase in the index for the appropriate block number and then uses the index of the block entry to retrieve from the data on the disk file. Retrieve a block requested in the data cache is faster and therefore improves performance.

So as you say that its current value is much lower then % is very low, that a requested block is in the cache of Essbase data.

Hope that respond you to the.

  • Set the size of the cache does not work (to the great usefulness of RAM)

    Hello
I posted this question in another forum, but they told me it would be better to aks that here:
I m read in a csv table and put in a primary database (DB_QUEUE)
and several secondary databases (DB_BTREE). I m using the Berkeley DB 4.7
for with C++. For the primary database, I let the standart for the secondary cache size
databases that I want to use 16 MB:

    unsigned long cache_byte = (1024 * 1024 * 16);
    s [a]-> set_cachesize(0,cache_byte,1)

dry [*] are the secondary databases
and the size of the cache is set before you open databases.
The problem is when I run the program it allocates more memory.
but it should just use a little bit more than once 16 MB.
    Can someone help me?

You can open all databases in a unique environment, with just a cache? Happens usually better, because Berkeley DB can share the cache based on access patterns.

That said, an increase in size of the memory can be caused by a leak of any where in the application - it may have nothing to do with the cache of Berkeley DB. Have all of the tools that could help track where the memory is allocated? If you're on Linux, valgrind (http://valgrind.org) is great for this sort of thing.

    Kind regards
    Michael Cahill, Oracle Berkeley DB.
