Size of the project Max practice

It seems that this question must have been asked and answered already, but I couldn't find anything...

Is there a practical limit for the size of project organization, both in terms of number of clips, sequences, effects, etc. ?

My last film effort began with about 2500 clips in DV - AVI (collectively probably more than 100 GB). I found myself with about 45 minutes of final film, spread across over 15 or if the sequences (each ranging from 1 min to 5 min long). Pretty basic effects (although almost every clip I've used gets "Fast color corrector").

A project of this size safely could be done in a single project, or should I (as I do now) create several mini projects and combine them in one, final project "master"?

I did have problems with similar projects.

    Hello

    Try clicking project > resize.

Note that this will likely affect the overall quality of the project. I would like to start by clicking file > save as to keep a blank copy of the original.

  • Conditional marking, a single source and reduce the size of the project

    Hi all

I use RoboHelp 10, and trying to find a solution to some of the problems addressed in the draft I am trying, as:

    1. The RoboHelp project that we are working on is pretty important. As a result, generating output takes a long time. WebHelp output takes more than 15 minutes at times, while the PDF output gets stuck, and in the end, we need to cancel it. We have some sections in our project, which are widely used by all authors. If we do not want to divide the project into several projects of the children and then merge again as this would mean the unequal distribution of work among the members of our team. How can we reduce the size of the project to increase the efficiency? Is this something to do with file corruption or the number of pages?
    2. We use two separate projects for CS Help and WebHelp. We also plan to label conditional content WebHelp for CS project, so that we can create the help CS and WebHelp by using single-sourcing. One solution that I think might work is to create a new table of contents using CS in the project of WebHelp and generate the output labeled. To try it out, it didn't work well. Also, can I use a different style sheet for WebHelp and CS Help? If so, any suggestions as to how I can do?

I'd appreciate it really all the help of all the experts here.

    Thank you

    RA

Thanks for the additional info, Rachael.

Regarding, "exclude no referenced topics of output", something to keep in mind that several output formats will include topics that are not explicitly listed in the table of contents. If this checkbox allows to exclude topics that you have not otherwise referenced.

However, another approach uses conditional build tags that are applied to the topic-level.

For example, your 2,000 pages assume a large part of those who did not appear in the table of contents, but you want a handful of reference pages available through the function of Research . Follow these steps:

    1. Create a conditional build tag along the lines, "Exclude all."
    2. In the list of subjects, select all, right click and choose Properties.
    3. On the Advanced tab, check your box exclude everything ,... .tick once... and then wait for RoboHelp update (it will be a long wait for 2 000 subjects.
    4. Once you have a visual confirmation that the box is checked, click OK to close the dialog box. Still, there is a lag.
    5. In your table of contents, right-click on each chapter and use shortcut keys [y + n] to access conditional compilation tags.
    6. For each chapter, in turn, clear the exclude from all check box. There will be a slight shift by the number of topics in each chapter.
    7. In the list of topics, find the topics that, if they are not in the table of contents, you want to be compiled with the project. Clear the checkbox to exclude everything for each one.
    8. In the conditional build Expression for your project, make sure your tag exclude from all in the column exclude output .
  • Size of the LUN Max size minimum and maximum RDM?

The Maximums on 4.1 Configuration seems to have been a change in the size of the LUN max, of the strange 2 TB - 512 bytes to just 2 TB. Can anyone confirm that it is correct in 4.1? As I understand it in 4.0, if you got your logic unit number created to exactly 2 TB, you have lost about 500 GB of space (?).

It would be interesting to know if it is "fixed" in 4.1 and if only the use of 4.1 hosts then 2 TB LUNS could be created?

In addition, the maximum size of RDM always seems to be 2 TB - 512 bytes in 4.1. What is the reason for this kind of limit? If the guest operating system can accept more large drives of 2 TB, which need not enough?

Yes, there is a maximum specified for the virtual machine.

Would a connection iSCSI comments launched a LUN liked work of 2 TB (if the guest operating system can handle)?

Yes, it's a way to work around the limitation of current 2 TB - 512 bytes.

The information about this change in the passage of Q & A at the end of TA7121 - ' next generation VM Storage Solutions with API for integration (VAAI) Array vStorage "was held in San Francisco just a couple of weeks.

Interesting. Did you get any sense if this possible change should come an update for 4.0 - 4.1 or may appear in a future version, 4.5 or 5.0?

I will attend at Vmworld in Copenhagen in October, so maybe I should visit this session.

You know, I don't really have a strong impression be it on this issue.  My stomach seems to tell me that it will be in the next version of main product.  If I remember correctly, one of the presenters of the session was one of the engineers who worked initially make VMFS.  This session was really good, so I recommend anyway.

  • Size of the file - best practices

I am putting together my first iPad app DPS and looking for a few tips to keep the manageable file size.

I did a quick project about 6 pages and it came as a huge 28 MB. My document end will be about 100 pages (x 2 for directions)

I really did nothing to try to reduce the size of the files in the project, I used PSD images with layers and not a not resize to 1024 x 768. Same thing with any jpg I used. I should do? Also, I did not bother to check if the image was CMYK or RGB. Basicially, I was working on the assumption that the images would be optimized in the process.

I created the files using JPG because I wanted to use the content viewer Desktop and I get PDF's will help with the size of the file. But that will make a big difference?

Is the largest part of this DPS overload just 28Mo or will it increase proportionally I've added pages?

You are looking for just best practices.

    Thank you

    Brian

    A few tips:

    (1) we will be re-sample images to the right size, so don't worry if your sourc eimages are bigger they must do.

    2) publish as PDF. This will make a big difference if you have a lot of text content.

    (3) not to publish two orientations. While we do support the feature, this means you have to do twice the work of layout and the size of the file is quite a bit larger. Choose an orientation that works best for your content, and stick with that. The vast majority of our publishers only portrait or landscape, not both.

  • Size of the project folder

    Hello

I created a puppet in Illustrator that doesn't have too many features (all forms of mouth, hands). The clip lasts less than a minute. The Web is about 1000 x 1000 px. The project folder is about 160 MB.

I wonder if this is the expected size, or if it is too large. And if it's too big, how can I reduce size? Y at - it an available order that compresses the file and it deletes unnecessary stuff?

I tried the file > delete history, but he is not having a significant effect on the size of my file.

  • Can question on the size of the project - you do evolutionary?

Hello!  I created a presentation in Captivate, which is 1024 x 768.  My colleagues say it's too big on their screens.  I know that I can export it as a size smaller, if necessary, but is there a way to make the evolutionary project?  In my past experience, I thought that the flash has been evolving, but this project seems to be a fixed size.  Thank you in advance for your help!  I'm on Cp 5.5 for Mac.

    Welcome to our community

Sorry, but the Captivate files are not scalable. They are composed of raster images. Things more Flash are vector images, so they are scalable. But not Captivate.

Just to add some information after all the information already provided.

-If you are on the page and try to import a file ppt of start-up, the Captivate project captures properly the resolution of slide PPT (that is, the resolution of project ppt).

-If you have already created a project, said resolution 640 x 480, then import a presentation ppt inside the exisitng Captivate project, the ppt slides will be reduced to the existing resolution (in this case, 640 x 480)

  • The size of the estimated value of the project is larger than the chosen target support

I am at a loss for trying to create a project using Adobe Encore.  I tried initially to the author of the project using the CS2 version.  When you try to export, I received the following message is displayed:

"The size of the estimated value of the project is larger than the chosen target support.  While it is an estimate, the project may not build. »

I have created hundreds of projects in the past, but have never received this message before.  I first thought that the problem was with the release of still I used, but I got the exact error that even trying to create the project with Encore CS5.

The project itself has a menu, a motion menu, and a single video file.  The video file 152 last minute, and I was trying to export that to a double layer DVD.  I tried from the file using CS5.5 Adobe Premier export using a variety of parameters.  I'm trying to export it to a file DVD-2, with the attributes of soure game being the highest value.  The parameter on the main concept MPEG encoder is set to 5. I tried to export the file by using the constant and variable bitrates.

When I recently exported the file using a contant 6.5 sampling rate, I still 650,4 Mo still remaining on my project.  I still received the same error message on the size of the project, and so I think that something is wrong.

I even exported the video file into an AVI file compressed and then tried to coding again using CS5.5 Adobe Premier and Adobe encoder.  I always get the same error message on the size of the file.

Any help or suggestions on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Create an ISO (yet), or a folder on your hard drive (still or Premiere Elements), then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO on DVD or BluRay drive (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)

When you write on the disk with Imgburn, use speed SLOWEST possible setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well trained" laser drill holes... Since no DVD drive is required to read a burned disc, have a 'good' after a try to white high quality will help

  • Numbers: Removal of multimedia content don't effect size of the document file.

    Hello people,

right now I'm working on a very simple table in the Pages.

I have reproduced a file already created by my colleague, because the page layout and all formulations must remain the same for the work that I do. The size of this document was large 1 GB (probably because there was a lot of images inside).

But after you remove all of the content, the size is always that great! I don't have more than two empty tables with just a small amount of text inside! It's as if the media is not really gone! I also tried to reduce the size of my project with this feature, but all he said was: cannot reduce the size of the project, it is already optimal!

So I tried to work around the problem and just copied and pasted my table to a new file. And then he gave me a 98 k file size!

But I had to resize all my cells and everything, so this work around is not really effective and functional for me.

I don't understand why the deletion of all media in my file doesn't effect size of my document. Am I missing something?

I really need to create a large number of these documents and this is something that really bothers me.

Can someone help me please. Is it possible to really get rid of multimedia content? as to delete the cache, or I don't know.

Thanks a lot in advance for any kind of help!

    Pages v5.6.2. OS X 10.11.6.

The key to changes in dynamic document is AutoSave must be activated, which happens only if the document is opened, edited and saved at least once in iCloud drive, or your home account on the boot drive.

If the above were true, then your removal of images would have a corresponding reduction in the size of the document, as seen by the intermediary to read the information. I tested here with my own images, and the gradual reduction of size of the document is measurable with each image removed by the intermediary to read the information.

One of the table cells still have images in their midst? Was it originally a Word document with embedded in Excel table data?

  • Are you able to change the size of the canvas?

Hello! I would like to change the size of the project up to 1920 X 1080 is it possible?

I'm pretty sure that currently available from Adobe sketch canvas size is 2048 x 1536 (at least).

Fortunately, HD video is smaller (1920 x 1080).

Create a model of 1920 x 1080 in Photoshop, then save it in your library of CreativeCloud.  It is often useful to create a guide with title safe and action safe too!

In Adobe Sketch, place the model in a new layer and use it as your guide layer.  If you send this to Photoshop later, it'll be really easy to crop to the guide layer - and maintain your elements and design layout.

I developed an e-learning course and it shows in whatever the IE window is - if I increase or decrease the window size, then the Project adjusts accordingly. How can I set the size of the project so it does not adjust to the window?

    Hello

If this is the type of 'Sensitive' to the project, you are simply out of luck. It does what it is supposed to do. But if this is the type "stop motion animation" project (demonstration or Simulation) when you publish the project, there is an option, you can enable or disable entitled "evolutionary content".
