Skype is trying to connect at all never.

Cannot get Skype to launch the application after downloading the new version. Loads forever. Works great on iPhone... I need to have to work on my iMac (mountain lion) as well!

Pls help!

This is what I did.

I installed an earlier version of Skype, which worked.

Then I downloaded the new version, without a link to my FB because I don't want this feature, and when I run it, it opens and works.

    Hello

Good luck, you need technical support for a real computer store or system manufacturer is supported.

Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And I would like to
Update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
    obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon. You can download these on another
computer if you need to and transfer on removable media.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for card (NIC) network and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
    updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.

You lose connection when you do and have to redo your logon.

Control Panel - Network & Sharing Center - right, click Customize - page set of network locations.
lower left click on merge or delete network locations - REMOVE all instances of your network (and the
others you don't use anymore) - REBOOT. Start - Connect To log on to the network.

  • I tried to connect my printer HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-One Series to my Dell Inspiron 15

    Separated from this thread.

    Hi Bill,

I tried to connect my HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-One Series printer to my Dell Inspiron 15 for two days without success.  Can you help me?

    Lenora,

I have a HP DeskJet 2540 on my Dell Inspiron 1545.

The instructions from HP work so you should be fine if you follow them.  The CD contains a ReadMe file that describes the installation procedure.

You must install the software first, and only then connect the printer.  Note that you will first need to install it on a USB connection.  You can change this later if, like me, you intend to use it with WiFi.

  • iPhone showed a map of a device trying to connect to iCloud. I said "do not allow". How did even get on my iCloud account right now?

A notification on my iPhone showed a map of a device trying to connect to my iCloud in Tampa, Florida (never been there). I said "do not allow". Less than 30 minutes, I see all my devices lost Emails and an email from a new device that is connected using a computer Windows in Tampa, Florida. How someone access if I do not?

Another weird thing, I was recently preparing a vacation to Tampa, FL given but never aired my iCloud email address but I use my credit card at resort and used a different email address (i.e. not associated with). My iCloud password is associated with another email address, nor any association with the credit card.

    Hi there, Aldin7!

You did the right thing by clicking "do not allow" for the connection. I'm glad that you reached out, I will do my best to help.

The first thing I would recommend is to change the password of your ID: ID Apple

This article goes over how to change your Apple ID password, for reference.

Then I got Contact Apple for assistance with the security of the Apple ID accounts to make sure that everything is safe.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support and have a great day!

  • VPN connections are suddenly trying to connect through a non-existent modem instead of wireless.

I have several set up VPN connections that I use for a few months. Today, I tried today to connect to one of them and realized that the dialog box connection said dial instead of connect. It is now trying to connect through a modem, which I don't have.

I deleted the VPN configuration and set up a new, but I get the same thing. When I go into the properties of the VPN connection, for 'connect using', he says 'deleted Modem - (unavailable device). There is no option to select the appropriate device.

I have no idea what this happened, but I connect now connect to any VPN because they all are trying to use this modem that does not exist. I can connect to the Internet fine. I can connect to the thin wireless networks. It's just the VPN connections.

Open IE and make sure the box never establish a connection isCHECKED.

Convert a physical box 2003 Server vm and the VM is extremely slow. Trying to connect again...

This is my first time converting a physical box to virtual. This is Server 2003. The conversion took place and I try to connect to the box now but it's so slow. Currently, he sat to apply personal settings for almost 10 minutes.

My boss has converted physical to virtual several times before and never said that he ran into something like this.

Am I missing something? Any suggestions?

I think that it is always looking for active directory. the newly P2V'ed will operate all IP settings. Therefore, you will need to wait until it has expired, and then enter the IP that is (ip, dns and etc.) above. the other way to speed things up would be to disconnect your network and the thing that your OS to expired immediately.

  • Why do I have a 'General' error when trying to connect to a site on my laptop, but my office works fine?

After an update from Microsoft, I tried to connect to a gambling site, but all I get is a "General error". He told me to refresh the page and try again. When I go to my office, I have a problem to connect. Why? Desktop is running xp, computer laptop windows 7.

You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

Reload Web pages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from Web sites that are causing problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.
  • Why is - 17.151.38.201 trying to connect to my mail server?

I use 5.1.5 server in my OS X server, and I have the Mail service is enabled. In my logs, I see several messages like:

    POP3-connection: Info: disconnected (no authentication in 0 seconds attempts): user = <>, = 17.151.38.201 rip, lip = xx.xx.xx.xx

    or

IMAP-connection: Info: disconnected (disconnected to auth was ready, whereas dry 0): user = <>, = 17.151.38.201 rip, lip = xx.xx.xx.xx

where xx.xx.xx.xx is the IP address of my mail server.

Why that IP (which is an Apple IP address) trying to connect to my server using IMAP or POP3?

As you the indicated this address and in fact the entire block 17.x.x.x is all owned by Apple of the IP addresses. Other than Apple's Push Notification traffic which is not the most common cause of traffic incoming , i.e. traffic from Apple and go to your network is the "Accessibility" of Apple test traffic.

I would say that in this case it seems that it is indeed Apple do a test of the "accessibility" for your server.

  • Apple Remote Desktop tries to connect to some weird areas

Firefox and osx elcapitan 10.11.4 15E65

It's so weird that lately my ARD tried to connect to areas randomly I searched on the web. Little Snitch reports she's trying to connect to 'gist.github' and the other day he tried to goto "krampus".  As I said it's strange behavior since it's the kind of thing I entered in google.

    All advice is appreciated.

I would be a little surprised if Apple Remote Desktop (ARD) have been connecting the specified web sites, you can post what Little Snitch reports as the source and the destination of the connection?  Also please post what version of Apple Remote Desktop (ARD) are you using?   3.8 (A 380, 95) is in course, at last I checked.

My general recommendation is to remove Little Snitch - this is a great tool, but it also tends to cause problems when network connections are blocked by mistake, and it's certainly excellent fodder for causing paranoia.

Adware and malware can cause this, but - if you connect to these sites and don't have adware or malware or any sort of anti-virus or anti-malware, or other similar types of tools tools additional loading - I guess it's OS X hides a tile or such.

Here is a previous related discussion - even if it is not of the ARD.

If he has problems with the update or the permissions then simpler is to download the full version and trash the version currently installed to do a clean install of the new version.

Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the file on the desktop disk image (dmg)

    • Trash the present application Firefox to do a clean (re-) install
    • Install the new version you downloaded

Your profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose your bookmarks and other personal data if you uninstall and (re) install Firefox.
