Slides advance automatically in Adobe Captivate 8

I have a lot of clickboxes on a slide. I'm also using a very small in the lower corner with the option ' break up to what the user clicks "checked so that blades don't not progress automatically... The rest of the click boxes do not have this option checked. However if the user clicks more than 3 clickboxes the slide advances automatically after a few seconds. How can I stop this from happening?

On the first screen shot is an example of the clickboxes the user is meant to click on.

On the second screen are the properties of the box click on in the lower right corner. It is supposed to stop the slides to advance automatically.

Please, could you post a screenshot of the timeline? How is the action of success for click that are not correct areas implemented? It has no action? Is that the 'blue' message the legend of success for these boxes click not correct? You can keep the break for all the boxes to click, but at the same time. Not needing an extra click on the area to achieve this goal.

Because you do not Captivate 9, you don't have the option "Continue playing the project" at all. If you want to stop the playhead to continue, you should normally have to use standard measures for click boxes. Take a look on:

  • Does not include why my slide advances automatically

    Hi all

    I hope you can help.

    I created the slide below.  The idea is that a user clicks one of the buttons and it displays their choice in $$varLength$ $, it works very well - I put the actions of these buttons to assign varLength with 10, 12 or 14 depending on whether they choose.

    The problem is that the slide advance automatically when they make a choice.

    I thought that if I put a box of click on the slide, it would hold the read head, but even with the click box, slide advance again

    You guys have any suggestions as to why this is?  I use 7 Captivate

    It would be better to post a screenshot of the timeline as well. And you want to give users the ability to choose several times? How do you move to the next slide? The point of a pause button defaults to 1.5secs, click at the end of the timeline area. If you have kept the default duration of the slide, this means that the click box has his break after the break of the buttons. But it is not detected on your screenshot of the timeline.

    Design by default, it is only when a successful simple action is executed for an interactive object, the read head which will be released at the same time. You didn't explain how the variable is filled with the buttons, it is by a simple action "affect varLength with...» » ? When the user has clicked a button, play head will be move and stop at the place of the break of the click box. If all buttons are stopping at 1.5secs, this means that the other buttons can't be clicked more because the playhead is located in the inactive part.

    Maybe Rod answer to solve your problem, if you have indeed changed the moment of pause. Another way is to replace the simple action by a standard action, because then the playhead is not released. And the user will be able to change your mind and click another button.

  • Captivate 9 slide advance automatically even with bar reading custom

    Hello!

    All of a sudden, my courses advance automatically, even with my bar of custom games. It happen before with my previous modules.

    I'm sure that I forgot to check or uncheck something, but I can't seem to understand.

    I enclose the screenshots of the chronology, in addition to the slide.

    2016-09-27_14-55-312016-09-27_14-55-58

    The PlayBar buttons are set to the rest of the project.

    Don't know what I did wrong, as my other modules are configured in the same way and are working properly. -Which means that I have to click on the next button to move to the next screen. It does not automatically advance to the next slide.

    Thank you very much

    Julie

    I don't see any point of suspension in the buttons. Normally I expect a suspension for the next button point (possibly also for the back button at the same time, if one of these buttons never can be hidden)

  • Adobe Captivate 9 Grassblade - Wordpress - LRS: reset courses

    Hello

    I m with the current version of LearnDash and Grassblade LRS Grassblade xAPI Companion.

    I generate classes with Adobe Captivate 9.

    I downloaded the course with xAPI companion, active monitoring of the completion and the course opens in a lightbox.

    The course has 3 simple Quiz slides at the end.
    It is possible to follow the course once per user.
    Then, after clicking on the "Launch" button again the course starts the quiz slides so that the user can´t resume.

    There is the same problem in failing the course:

    -User hits the road

    -L' user fails to Quiz
    -User can´t resume the quiz and begins the course to the Quiz results slide.

    In Adobe Captivate I ve made the adjustment in the quiz settings:

    -> Action when passed Quit smoking

    Action in case of failure-> Jump to slide 1 (work it s but the quiz does not reset)

    In the Project Options for game start and close end I ve, the Action for the end of the project-> project

    Y at - there a Posibility to let the user restart the course even when it was already there?

    Or can the course be reset when it s open again?

    Thank you very much for your help!

    Kind regards
    Alex

    Your problem with the course of recovery to the Quiz results slide is due on bookmarking.  One solution is to disable data summary bookmarking by selecting the option from the quiz > Reporting screen under Advanced to never send the CV database.  (For a small quiz containing a handful of issues it should never be necessary to mark and return anyway.)

    Return the learner to the first slide in the project by using the action of failure does not reset the quiz.  Several attempts to quiz, to allow through the Quiz > pass or fail the screen and select the option to display the button resume.  The user must be clicking on the Quiz results slide this button to reset the quiz to zero for a new attempt.

  • It advances automatically - drag

    ACK!

    I created a Captivate of a PowerPoint presentation.

    I * thought * I selected for all the slides advance automatically after a time XX.

    All the slides ADVANCE automatically, except one.

    I can't find how to solve this problem, anywhere.

    I've got 32 slides.

    Each of them now have audio and detailed captioning (that I've lined up with the audio online.) So again this presentation from scratch is not an option.

    Help, please!

    You see a box to click in the timeline of this slide? If this isn't the case, you will have to consider in the PPT to see if something is set up to move to the click.

  • No Progression of the slide in PPTX don't Captivate 7

    After you import a PPTX file in Captivate 7 it does not progress (to start) as it does in the PowerPoint slide.)  Is it a framework preventing PowerPoint?  All the slides in Captivate are without Action and go to the slide next and this even happens if No Action is changed to continue.  When published and go with the button next in Captivate, you arrive at a black screen.

    Hello

    Please check the option of high fidelity at time of import pptx and also to change the slide advance automatically and then check again.

    Thanks and greetings

  • Is it possible to have a slide advances on its own when there are buttons on the screen?

    I wonder if there is a way to have a slide advance automatically when there are buttons on the slide, I want the eLearning course I've created for just the AutoPlay through all the slides.

    Thanks in advance!

    What do the buttons do? Just delete their point of pause and when they reach the end of the slide, and the exit action is set to continue, or go to the next slide, everything will play.

  • Adobe Captivate Advanced - 8 Actions trigger an event after that audio connected to a button has finished playing

    Hi all.  I use Adobe Captivate 8 on Windows.  I have a slide that has 2 buttons.  The buttons are placed in advanced actions, when you click on it to play an audio file and display the text, and then set the variable key 1, clicked.  The button are similar functions and can be clicked in any order.  When you click on the two buttons, I need to read an audio of conclusion.

    My problem is that once the second button is clicked, select what action starts immediately, as the two buttons were clicked and the condition is now filled.  I need to finish reading the audio second-clicked the button before she turns to the next action, and no matter what I try it doesn't work!  Major frustration!  If you need me to post any screen shots, please let me know.  Thanks in advance,

    Mike

    You must use conditional Actions, not simple actions.  With a Standard action or conditional button does not automatically frees the timeline AFTER it has been clicked.

    You must also configure the tracking variables so that your conditional Action will be able to determine whether or not the two buttons were clicked and that's why the audio file should be placed accordingly.

    Take a look at this tutorial on creating dynamic menu slides:

    The basics are really quite the same.

  • Prevents Adobe Captivate to continue to the next slide

    Hello all and thanks in advance for any answers.

    I've been using Adobe Captivate 4 for a little and believe I don't know what I'm doing, but I'm stumped on this one.

    I'm creating a troubleshooting guide for our users. The blade has a button that calls any javascript to open the network connections window instead of toward it.

    (function runApp() {}
    var shell = new ActiveXObject ("WScript.shell");
    hull. Run ("control.exe ncpa.cpl");
    }

    runApp();
    )

    After they do their check, they have a question that is asked of them with a Yes/No with a jump to slide for each option.

    When they click on the Javascript button, that opens very well and the slide remains now. But if they click the button a second time, the slide automatically goes to the next.

    I updated the slide properties 'No Action' at the exit and I even tried infinite/100 clicks on the java button and slide still goes to the following.

    I even tried to hide a button click on the slide with a "No Action" on the success or failure, nothing helps.

    Is this a bug or am I missing something?

    Thank you again in advance!

    Serge

  • "Jump" to a specific slide in adobe captivate with edge animate.

    I want to "jump" to a specific slide in adobe captivate using interactions created in a file hosted from edge. Is someone able to help me with the javascript code needed to do this?

    So I don't know what was going on in April which did not possible but now 9 Captivate at least you can below to communicate a slide jump in Cape Town from the edge.

    I have an Edge file with a unique symbol to this topic called edgeButton which is just a simple rectangle with text on the subject. On the click to edgeButton event, I added the following script:

    window.parent.postMessage ('2', ' * ');

    Where the '2' is the second slide in a Captivate project. Here's a visual aid on board for the game to the top:

    On the side of the course of things, I set up a simple empty project with two slides on it and have disabled the PlayBar. On the first slide, I imported the OAM Edge file from above and on the second slide are just a simple text caption so that you know you have arrived at this slide after clicking on the "Click me" button in the animation of embedded edge. Here is a visual aid for the CAP put in place:

    Notice that there is a progress of the Actions run on the onEnter of the master slide. This is what looks like this Action:

    First, we add a Pause action so that the project does not automatically. Then we add a Javascript action to perform on the window 'active'. The script in the window Javascript crap is:

    window.addEventListener ("message", slideJump);

    function slideJump (event) {}

    Console.log (Event.Data);

    window.cpAPIInterface.gotoSlide (event.data);

    }

    If you use IE, change the first line of window.attachEvent ("onmessage", slideJump);

    What we have done here is connect Edge (that Cap incorporates in an iframe) with Cap using the postMessage function that allows document windows communicate with each other. Since the Edge object is inside the DOM of the CAP, the script of edge must publish its message to its parent window, which is the Cap document window. Add the listener for the event message to Cap on its current context of window and after receiving the message that we call the function slideJump and suss out the string that was sent to the wire using event.data, which in this case will be "2."

    We record the value in the console

    Console.log (Event.Data);

    just for sanity check our channel, then pass the string to the common JS Cape API interface

    window.cpAPIInterface.gotoSlide (event.data);

    the Cap project going to slide #2.

    If you're curious, here's a Stack Overflow write to postMessage . Communication between edge and Cap can work in two ways via postMessage, btw. Here is an example where we do something similar, except that we control an animation of edge of assets to Captivate with postMessage.

    I know that this response is a few months late to the party, but if all goes well it helps or helps someone else who might be looking for a response to a similar problem.

  • 5.5 Captivate slide advance question

    Hello all - I have a project, Adobe Captivate 5.5 with exaclt 36 slides in it. The last 11 slides being a quiz question 10 with a final rating page. The "timing" on the rating page is 19.2 seconds exactly and the project should be completed at this time, and then it should initiate a URL that I added to the preference 'to the end'. The problem I encounter is that sometimes, the URL is launched after the slide of score ends at 19.2 seconds, and sometimes it isn't. Sometimes, there are another 15-20 seconds before the URL is launched trolling. Also, when I click on the 'Continue' button embedded on the page of notation, it never works. I guess he has to finish the project and launch URL. Use the arrow button to the front doesn't work anymore. Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide this.

    Hmmm, have different questions.

    1. Where is the point to pause on the slide to score? Don't look in the calendar, but the chronology: thin vertical black line right to a double white line, this is the break? Because you have extended the score slide that much (default is 3secs), if you leave the actions for the Pass / Fail Quiz default level "Continue", the playhead will continue for the rest of the slide after the pause point.
    2. 'In the end' preferences? It's in the preferences, project, beginning and end, Action at the end?

    Personal, I recommend you to have a short slide after slide of Score (which were never as last slide) and start the URL with the event on enter the short blade.

    But be sure to change the default setting for pass/fail on Quiz level of 'Continue' to «Go ├a next page»

  • Adobe Captivate 5 - I need to add a mouse movement to a slide that does not...

    I am trying to create training/videos for a drawing software.  Captivate recognizes not that there is a movement of the mouse, as the mouse does not 'click' at the end of the movement, only the Enter key is used.  I need to add a mouse movement so that my clients can see the action taking place better.  I can't find how to add a mouse movement to a slide that is not a mouse already assigned to it.  Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.  Furthermore, I already tried a copy of another mouse slide... It is not possible.

  • Adobe Captivate Advanced button Actions shows clicks

    Hello

    I have a question about advanced Actions.

    I have two buttons.

    When I click a button it should disappear.

    After I clicked on the two buttons a third button is displayed.

    How can I do that.

    When I try the third button appears when I click on one of the two buttons and not after I clicked on both.

    Here´s advanced action I have for one of the two buttons that must disappear:

    __________________________________________

    Assign [variable_button1] with 1

    disappear [button1]

    Then a related action:

    IF

    [variable_button1 = 1

    [variable_button2] = 1

    ACTION

    Show Button3

    ON THE OTHER

    Break

    ____________________________________________

    I m sorry if there is something is not right. I have found no translation from German to English in adobe Captivate.

    Thank you very much for your help!

    Kind regards

    Alex

    I suspected this to be the case. No, all shares advanced/shared in Captivate are event-driven. The conditional action will never be executed. I have a lot of examples on my blog for this use case, but post-it (yet) in this thread. BTW: I understand German (I'm Flemish) but do not dare to write in German.

    In a conditional action, you can have several decisions, which are all executed in the order: orders are from top to bottom, are decisions from the left to the humble. You will need to integrate the standard and the conditional action in a conditional action to be triggered by the buttons. Now that you have only one decision (indicated as "Unnamed" and choice in your screenshot), this decision should be the second decision. You don't need to put anything in the ELSE part, but I still don't know the break of the buttons, reason why I asked for a screenshot of the timeline. Your conditional action should look like this (sorry for the English terminology).

    The decision to "Always" 1 I like to cite the decisions and everything in my projects

    IF 1 is equal to 1

    Assign the v_button1 with 1

    Disable Button1

    Hide Button1

    See the Group1

    No Else part for this decision, you must edit the double button 2

    Decision 2 "CheckIt".

    IF v_button1 is equal to 1 AND

    v_button2 is equal to 1

    See the Bt_Next

    Select Bt_Next

    Joint actions are not possible because the variables are used in the two decisiobns.

  • Adobe Captivate 7 - How can I stop AutoPlay from the slides at the end of the enclosure of the slide?

    Hello

    I produce an e-learning with many slides that are set to music. I noticed after the export slide that starts automatically when they are reached. It is wanted, but it isn't good that after the duration of the slides which depends on the duration of speakers the next slide open automatically and starts playing.

    How can I reach that a slide with a speaker stops playing after the speaker is finished, so that the next few slides is open only by clicking on the button next in the PlayBar?

    I assume you mean audio slide? Add a click box to each slide and extend its duration until the end of the slide, which can easily be made with the hotkey CTRL-E. A click box will automatically pause at its end, which will be at the end of the slide.

    Add to the first slide and set up as explained and copy the click zone. Then go on the Filmstrip, select all the other slide and paste it.

  • Adobe Captivate 7 - is the review of the results of the quiz based on the types of questions?

    Adobe Captivate 7 provides the function that you can review the questions, and you can see which of them have answered correctly and that one of them has responded incorrectly. In my e-learning project, there is an exercise that consists of multiple choice questions and drag and drop tasks. This question / task landslides are among the content slides, this means for example after 5 content slides are a 2 slides, it issues then 3 content slides and slide 1 question and so on. The results of all the types of questions - multiple choice questions, drag and drop - are included in the results of the quiz. At the end of the e-learning the 'quiz' results slide comes with the button "check Quiz." I tested this function after exporting the e-learning of Adobe Captivate7. I noticed the following: If you click on the button "check Quiz" the learner back to all the question slides he or she responded. For that on question slides were automatically placed the buttons 'next' and 'back' and the 'inspection' on the ground it is written what the learner has responded to the two first questions are multiple choice questions. There, it works fine the two buttons will appear. After clicking on the button 'next' on the first question slide that contains a multiple choice question, the learner is the second slide of the question, which also contains a multiple choice question. The third issue is a task of drag / move. He do not appear the buttons so the quiz review stops and there is no field 'inspection '.

    How do I review the quiz works correctly despite types of questions?

    You will need to create the buttons that you want the slide D & D and format them to look like buttons on the other Quiz slides. Then hide them by deselecting "Visible output" in the properties panel.

    For these D & D slides, you will need a conditional action advanced or shared to be triggered on enter. The action will check the value of the system variable cpInReviewMode, which is a Boolean with the value of 1 by Captivate when you're in playback mode. If its value is in fact = 1 show you the hidden buttons. If you group these buttons, you will need only a single command:

    IF cpInReviewMode is equal to 1

    See the Gr_Buttons

    Continue

    ON THE OTHER

    Continue
