Slimline S5 1554 Joshua-H61 Mthrbrd SSD - HP

Morning - I have a HP Slimline Pavilion S5-1554, product HP #: H3L78AAR #ABA

The system supplied with Windows v8.0 and has been updated for Windows ver 8.1

I think that HP Support App identifies the unit as a "model H3L78AA".

As with the purchase, the system came with a single hard disk 1 to and 6 GB of RAM.

In any case, the technical specifications of the HP lists the motherboard of the system as a Joshua-H61-Μatx"

As it sits right now, it a (1 x) length PCI Express x 16 expansion "(Gen 2.0) slot" and "

3 x PCI Express (currently empty) short x 1 also by the spec sheet «Gen 2.0» HP

My question is, is anyone know if the S5 (?) Support chipsets Intel H61 as one of these mSATA Intel 525 series Lincoln Crest SSDMCEAC060B301 60 GB SSD SATA III MLC internal Solid State Drive (SSD) that looks at it would be plug directly into one of the slots PCI Express short?

If so, could the SSD be used with the Intel Smart Response Technology for SSD caching?

This would put most, if not all of the Win operating system 8.1 on the SSD for faster access, as well as the "frequently used" files     Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the reply.   I am trying to get information on the different options of SSD.

Looking at the motherboard of Joshua, there seem to be two additional unused SATA ports.

Do not have the box open at the moment, but if I remember correctly, the connectors were able Brown

The two used connections (one for the WD 1 TB hard drive and one for the CD/DVD drive), at least one was "yellow".

No idea if these are connections 6Gig/ch, or if it makes a difference, what connection a SSD is connected to?

There is not much space available to put an extra drive in the case.  I suppose you could remove the WD HD disc height and try to made two half-height or a 2.5 "1 TB + SSD in the same space occupied by the disk hard 3.5" original WD.  That need also I try to educate myself about how separate where the operating system should be placed against the location of data storage.

I see that WD has now a sort of hybrid drive, the WD Black2, but maybe it's a bit expensive etc.

See you soon

The SATA ports are only SATA II up to 3Gbps.

It's strange because the socket supports processors Ivy Bridge, but the chipset is Sandy Bridge. I think that there are numbers in each port, so you don't have to bother with the colors. I suggest to get a 2.5 drive "strong (Samsung Pro would be my choice) on the SATA 1 port, then on HDD to SATA 2 etc...

You can always set the startup disk in the BIOS in any case it really is up to you. Samsung have a use for the migration of the contents of the original hard drive including the operating system. This means that you could have the drive as boot drive solid and keep the original for data hard drive. There is no need of a hybrid if the boot drive is a pure solid state drive.

I installed upgrading Windows 10 and worked well for a while. I accidentally uninstalled an update to the Intel driver and a few other programs and restarted the computer. He returned and said he had to do anther windows update - when he finished he stops. I turned again once and nothing. 2 fans to run and it sounds like HARD disk drives to start - but is not complete. Answer sheet Virgin screen, no keyboard or mouse. I went through trouble shooting HP together, removed battery CMOS, popped it (got the blue power lights come back), but still nothing else.

Read another forum, I see where the free update to win 10 raises motherboards FRY as Μatx H-Joshua H61, 696233-001 motherboard may not consider them.  I wonder if I replace the motherboard, reload the original OS (I already bought the recovery disks from HP that I thought it was my original problem) Windows 8, if everything will be ok.

I want to stop the automatic upgrade to win 10 again will fry the motherboard.

Any thoughts or the next steps for action or other help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Greetings,

I can barely stomach having a motherboard to fry due to an upgrade of the operating system.

I guess it's possible, and if it is true, maybe it's time for a class action. You can contact MS support but they will blame HP.

Was the Intel one driver graphics driver? Use the integrated graphics card?

If so, you have a slot PCIex16 2.0. Buy a graphics card to modestly low price profile, plug it into the slot.

If you added discreet graphics then remove the card and try the graphics card integrated.

Start the PC. You can get the video.

The motherboard has USB 2.0 supports so pulling the battery and reset CMOS using the jumper pins should correct the problems of USB 2.0.

This nifty little program, never 10, stops Win 10 upgrades.

You must use the same motherboard model, that you now if you want to install Windows using the HP recovery kit. The motherboard must be tattooed by HP or HP Recovery kit will fail.

First try the graphics card option.

    Hello

If the new DIMM specifications correspond to the existing DIMM specifications then you shouldn't have a problem.  You can download and use CPU - Z to determine specifications.

HP would be a place to start or the underside of the manufacturers.

I would recommend that you try the tools of these manufacturers: Corsair, Kingston and Crucial. Once you have determined the DIMMs you need, then commercial support contract or technique to verify that you have selected the correct DIMMS.  Buy directly from the manufacturer is generally preferable that they will stand behind their product.

Have heard, if you have a UEFI Bios, you enter the BIOS, disable the boot safe boot and enable legacy in order to allow the new video card. All things being equal, it does no problem power supply.

Don't know what OS you are using and did not find the model number you have indicated in your message.

Finally, it should be to uninstall the existing video drivers, close, install the new card, then install the new drivers to restart managed in the operating system.

Here is a page on ebay with some of your motherboards.  You must make sure that the part number for the one you choose matches your.  The reason why I recommend to replace it in kind, it is HP motherboards belong to someone who makes it possible that some of the connectors and the spreaders case will not match.

    Hello

Open the command RUN and enter: MSINFO32

If your computer is running a version of HP 8 BIOS then the NVIDIA 7xx or 900 series should work with appropriate food.

If your PC does not have a BIOS to version 8 HP, then you have the choice:

Do nothing and don't change anything - none try former graphics of joy.

DownloadBIOS updateand try to update. If the update does not install because you are not running Windows 8 then you could upgrade to W8 or try the following:

Download the update of the BIOS to version 8 HP and uncompress it using 7 - ZIP. Once unzipped, right on the flash.bat file and select run as administrator.

There is always a risk to install a BIOS update. I suggest that you run a full set of diagnosis before doing so to ensure that your PC is stable.

I agree with you that it could be the power supply.  I've heard the PSU works using the paper clip, but still not be good enough to run the computer.  If you try to use your old PSU brand sure the power connector ATX is correct.

  • HP Slimline S5-1414: deliver installation video card the S5-1414

Before we begin, I want to know that this system is more under warranty, so I'm not worried about voiding the warranty.

    That said.

I walked into the position of a HP S5-1414, the case was broken, however, the motherboard (Joshua H61) was in perfect condition.

I installed it in another case, put a power supply Antec TP-750 blue, 2 4 GB Corsair vengeance DDR 3 12800, 4 HD SATA 3 "s and a Samsung SSD Pluged into the port Mini PCIe wireless adapter was installed in. None of the people is the source of the problem.

The problem I have is that whenever I have install a PCIe video card (in this case a VisionTek AMD Radeon HD 5450 video card) the computer will boot once and then when I reboot it (for example I boot in the BIOS and when I chose save and exit) I get 6 beeps and the yellow HD activity light flashes 6 times. Now I know that this is not the video card because I can install it on my other computers and their initialization very well. I cleaned the contacts, make sure that there is power going to the video card of the PSU, made sure it was plugged into the PCIe connector and ensured that the PCIe ports are active in the BIOS.

  • S5-1414 more ZR2740w 27 "monitor? Sticker of Windows 8?

    Hi, I just bought a S5-1414 opportunity (product # H3Y75AAR) 3.4 GHz computer (Core i3 2130) i3 of office.

While it is "used", in my opinion, he should have been returned to a store immediately after purchase because his impeccable.  Was missing, so perhaps a disk failure has been the reason for the return or the disc has been removed just somewhere along the way for security reasons, his hard drive.

It's a small office of nice and I think using it as my main PC since I do not play games that often and could reduce the cost of energy pulling to the top of my Monster Z800.  But I have two questions:

    1) there is a sticker of Windows 8 (just a logo) on the side but no sticker with a product key on the computer.  I guess he had originally one because of the other sticker and drivers seem to only exist for Windows 8 and 8.1.  Before I buy a copy of Windows 8 (or 8.1) I wanted to make sure that there is not a way to get a product key, since I own the computer that originally had a license associated with it.  I know that some systems if they are sold with an operating system license transfers with the material (although you have to buy the installation media).  I bet that this is not the case but I wanted to check before you go spending money unnecessarily.

    (2) can a 27 "ZR2740w be driven by embedded graphics (Joshua-H61-Μatx motherboard with HD2000) graphic on the i3?  The ZR2740w is a GREAT monitor but is not an embedded scaler and will operate only at low resolutions of 2560 x 1440 and one or two.  I guess that the BIOS screens are not at a high enough resolution to display on the screen, but I wonder if once the computer starts Windows (which is not installed, see question 1) the monitor will work.  I don't expect great performances, just enough to browse the web and edit documents.

    Thank you!

This is the original factory specifications for your desktop HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1414. According to the specifications, this expedition from the factory with Windows 8 is installed. Starting with Windows 8, OEM computer manufacturers are required to encrypt and to integrate the product key Windows 8 in the BIOS/CMOS. This is referred to as a DPK (digital product key).

It is better to buy and use HP recovery media for the computer, because it returns the computer to a factory State. This includes the original operating system, drivers, software, HP, HP Tools recovery partition, etc. Please see DVD - English, French Windows 8 64 b 12NA3RR8601 to buy this HP recovery media.

Alternatively, you can try this download of Windows 8 OEM; http://www.Google.com/URL?SA=t&RCT=j&q=en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.ISO&source=Web&CD=1&CAD=RJA&SQI=2...

It is a unofficial "official licensed copy of Windows 8 OEM." Download this file (you may have to try several times or several times successfully download this file) and burn the ISO image to a DVD. Set the BIOS to use UEFI, enable 'Secure Boot' and disable 'Legacy Support... If these options are present. Boot from that disk and install Windows 8. It should register as an official copy and use the key embedded in the BIOS. Please note that any customizations HP or HP value-added is installed using this method.

S5-1414 will not push the ZR2740w monitor at full resolution. The monitor requires dual-link DVI, whereas the computer does not support the single-link DVI.

    LS,

A friend bought the desktop pc HP P6 2460ED with win8 as operating system installed. She wanted rather win7. After changing some settings in the bios and boot sequence (legacy) I installed it form DVD on an ssd, I also put.  After you have installed the only problem I have is that the USB ports frontside (usb3) do not work. Rear usb ports do not accept flachdrives either. (at least now there is a popup that could ' t windows installed properly). According to the HP website, it was Texas Instruments USB 3.0 xHCI Host controller only for win8. At the rear there is usb2 ports, but no af USB key acceptance.

What seems strange that port usb2 to the rear there is an Ext. hdd connected freecom and works well.

  • Pavilion p6-2422el: Pavilion p6-2422el GPU upgrade

    Hello
I recently decided to upgrade the Nvidia Geforce gt630 supplied with the pc. After a little research I ' ve found the 750 gtx or 750ti cards and I would like to know if they are compatible with my system. If you have any suggestions for the best graphics cards please tell me. Sorry for the bad English.

PS. I looked on data sheets HP and idk why but my pc has a different cpu (i5-3330)

    Hi there @Francesco55,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that you look at upgrading the graphics card in your computer.  I'm happy to help you with this.

Looking at the HP Pavilion p6-2422el product specifications desktop PC and HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - specifications of the motherboard, H-Joshua-H61-Μatx (Joshua), your system has the following:

    300W internal power supply (100V-240V)

    A PCI Express x 16 (Gen2.0)
    Three PCI Express x 1 (Gen2.0) connectors
    A PCI Express x 1 Mini card

Any card you're looking at would be necessary to act within these limits.

Looking at the: GeForce GTX 750 Ti spécifications

    Minimum configuration of power (W) 300 W

Support for the PCI Express 3.0 bus

And: the GeForce GTX 750 specifications

    Minimum configuration of power (W) 300 W

Support for the PCI Express 3.0 bus

Neither the map shows a requirement for a secondary power supply, but both require a minimum of a 300W power supply. You can install a power of higher capacity to exceed this requirement and avoid potential problems.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.
