Slipstreamed RAID drivers

It is without doubt poorly designed on one level or another.  RAID and Vmware are relatively new to me, so of course, my new build will contain both!

My XP Pro 64 host is installed on a RAID 5 configuration and drivers are slipstreamed in my installation image.

My question is, is it necessary for me to integrate the appropriate drivers in my guest OS (s) OS installation discs?  I'm curious about that specificially because my RAID drivers are different for XP Pro 64, they are for XP Pro 32 and do not want to forget the portential conflict before going too far.

Or is the RAID just importance for the host operating system?

Thank you.

you don't need drivers-RAID you are your virtual machines.

Virtual machines use IDE or SCSI-disks - you can set when creating

    Hi all
I am creating a slipstream disk to install the raid drivers. I did it before using the program n - lite with great success, unfortunately this time it doesn't. So, I checked the forums for how to do it manually. I followed these steps http://support.micro...om/?kbid=288344
This makes me through loading the driver and restarts, then restarted and enter in install windows server 2003 fails with the error message "an error was encountered, which prevents the installation to continue. internal configuration data is corrupted (phase0). Press ok to view the Setup log"
The Setup log shows "installation internal data structures are corrupted (phase0).

    Any ideas?

I tried to install the Toshiba RAID drivers (you know things F6) using a USB and emulating the BIOS USB FDD, well that detected the installation got XP file sytem was unknown.

    Any help?

If you use Windows XP RAID driver cannot be installed on the USB. It is not possible.
You can install the RAID driver using only the drive FDD USB and floppy.

But Windows Vista recognizes the USB and the RAID driver might be installed in this environment.

So what OS and device do you use?

    Hello:

Please read the info on the link below on how to integrate the SATA/RAID drivers.  Read the Intel section and read the document about how to integrate all the drivers.

The drivers from the link below allows you to integrate. Second listed file is what you need for XP 32 bit.

The real driver you need is the controller RAID Intel® Express Chipset SATA Desktop/Workstation/Server. But all by wake.

  • Windows XP slipstream SATA drivers chipset Z68

Hello.  I hope someone can help me with a driver issue I do not well understand and hesitate to pull the trigger on the practice.

I was here with my limited knowledge regarding the installation of XP Pro on a new version of the computer using a motherboard Asus P8Z68-V Pro GEN/3.  I have a few specific questions which have hindered me.  Please if you can, understand that I'm not really up on top of all the terms tech and cause acronyms so don't assume I'm smart, I'm not.   Laughing out loud.

I want to eventually install a second hard drive with Win 7 64 bit. so I can dual-boot. I wish that my BIOS value AHCI to enjoy its features.  I'm not going to use RAID, but I want my original install XP to recognize the SATA to AHCI MODE.  This motherboard is not a floppy controller, F6 is not an option.  Here are my questions.

    1. I know of NLite and install the drivers on the original "slipstreaming" SATA.  It of a great solution, seems simple enough, except that nobody has never specified WHAT are the names of the drivers?

I went on the mfg site, downloaded the SATA driver. ZIP file.  It extracts to a folder on my other PC.  When I tried to use NLite and point in the driver file 32-bit, on a bunch of pilots became listed in the program NLite... it is then invited to exclude those that I didn't need.

I have absolutely NO idea what SATA controller is on the chip Z68.  He said ICH 10 or 9 or another, this list about NLite had tons of pilots watch, none of them suggested the Z68 chipset.   Any Internet search I did came up with solutions before this new chipset Z68. I don't want to rush to the top of the XP installation with a ton of conflicting drivers.  So, first of all a question... What are the names of ACTUAL files should I include in the wake on NLite for the card mother Z68 having XP recognize my SATA HD in AHCI MODE?

    2. this idea will work.  I'm afraid the BSOD if I try without asking.  First set my BIOS in IDE mode, install XP, then install the drivers on the CD ASUS SATA, then shut down the PC, change the BIOS to AHCI mode and restart?    Sounds too easy, and if it worked I don't know that a ton of people would not be faced with this problem.

    Thanks in advance

  • Portege S100 - reinstall Windows XP using F6 and RAID drivers

I have this announcement in the hope that it helps someone.

Well my hard drive is dead, so got a replacement one. I'm not so innocently, I thought that, just down load the drivers from the website of the original dvd.
So did all of this and the raid has yet to see! Changed the settins to raid in the bios that you get by pressing ESC, then the default values, restart and go back into bios goto page 3 - which is so visible. Make sure that the disc is set to1raid0 - download the manual, but you must agree to any change in typing 1234 when it asks for a string from the manual. Anyway did all that - still no visible drive - so which continues.

Well apparently there are 2 sets of pilots kr10n and kr10i - that givesyou site is kr10n drivers. That may work for the most recent, but not mine! My laptop needs the kr10i which I can't find on the site tosiba. BUT http://download.cnet.com/raid-drv-20070719134547-zip/3000-18492_4-174094.html or you can google for raid-drv-20070719134547

The steps for me were so use nlite to add the drivers of kr10i on a WinXP SP3 patched cd and start using that. It was work related.

After that, everything went great! Well, I didn't have much hair initially, but even less after having finished the process.

    Good luck

    Hello

Thanks for posting this short statement here in the forum.
I think it might be useful for some users who try to install Win XP and try to include the RAID drives.

PS. driver RAID The download also from the European pilot of Toshiba page!
I installed Win XP and I'm using the nLite tool to include the RAID driver!

  • Satellite L30-10 X - need sata\raid drivers for Windows XP

Need to install the drivers sata\raid for windows XP. Laptops Satellite L30-10 X. Please tell me where I can find it.

    Hello

Normally, you find that the SATA drivers in display driver package which you can download from the official website of Toshiba... Usually they are placed under the screen driver\SBDrv but I downloaded it and t SATA driver file is :(

What you can do is download the driver of another model, perhaps Satellite L300D or similar model.

An alternative you can install Windows XP compatible mode. Go into the BIOS, HDD AHCI mode to the compatible. Then, you don't need a driver.

  • Tecra S3 XP Setup not find HARD drive even if the RAID drivers were included by F6 key

I tried to install a normal XP (not recovery). But the installation program will not find my HARD drive even if I include the Toshiba RAID via F6 drivers.

    Any ideas?

    > I have decided to use nLite and added the raid driver but after several installations different combo, I'm done with the original problem which does not recognize my floppy USB drive after format

If you have included the RAID driver using the nLite so I put t understand why you need the external USB floppy drive?
Anyway, to my knowledge, not all USB FDD drives are compatible and it can happen that a non supported USB FDD drive will not recognize and so you would not be able to install the RAID floppy driver!

But nLite is the key! Using the nLite you n t need the USB FDD drive!

I just bought a version of Vista Ultimate, but I can't install it because I don't have the drivers Raid and BT. When Toshiba will make available?

A friend of mine installed Vista on his G30 and he used the RAID to XP or MCE driver.
It worked! I was also surprised, but he managed to install the Vista on G30.
I know the G30 is not the same thing as the G20, but you can test

    Hi KenMcC,

Yes, you can install this update. Hardware updates are not installed automatically. Need to manually install these updates. Updates are correctly configured only when you restart the system after their application.
