slow stop

my computer always shutdown really slow and I don't know how to fix it. I have it says takes too long to close Windows media player. (300 seconds)
also for my documents when I click the key in the window, and then click Properties, the location is by default is
Start\program C:\Users\5H4D0W\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start
I changed it to C:\Users\5H4D0W\Documents
but the things that are saved in the documents are also in my Start menu/all programs.

Hi Kenny,

your stop takes 159 seconds

< timing="" shutdowntime=" 159394 ">

which is mainly caused due to the Elimination of the hibernation file:

< interval="" name=" ZeroHiberFile " starttime=" 74607 " endtime=" 152696 " duration=" 78088 ">

It takes 78 seconds. You have installed a tweaking tool and select an optiob to delete the file at each stop?

The downtime of the services also takes long:

servicesShutdownDuration =" 21419 " > which is 21 seconds. "

Service of Kaspersky takes 8 seconds to stop.

And you have a lot of tools (background) running which must be firm and it takes a lot of time.

original title: scanning for dell studio 1737 and recommended bios update

Hello, generally, I read until I have my answer, but I can't so I think I give it a try. Somehow I screwed things up with my computer. My main complaint is that I have something running that takes a lot of memory according to the Task Manager. My fan runs often, 1-1/2 minute stop time, pop up messages telling me to stop then reload IE9 sp2. I found some stuff on my event viewer, but I can't seem to cross the first error which is something on my bios. I go to the dell website to try to update with a flash of the bios but note comes up saying that my computer does not accept the flash. I have other issues in both event viewer, but can't remember them that I can't get beyond the the bios issue. The computer is a Dell Studio 1737 plenty of core duo memory 4 MB with plenty of space on hard drive and it seems to do well but all the * running in the background makes it run hot so the fan. All I want to do is get a scan for my installed bios system and install an updated version. I am not able to do at Dell. Maybe they want me to pay to support or something. I did all the FixIt of ms, I ran three different registry cleaners, I ran three viruses different scans, nothing. I've loaded my vista dell disk and tried to recover or repair and cannot do it either. I notice weird things with ie. I've done several downloads for versions 32 and 64 bit, to do the right thing. Maybe he has an it is to say the conflict or something. Whatever it is, I'm sure it's related to the fact that my computer takes 1-1/2 minutes to stop, even if it starts normally. I played with it for about a month now and I'm traps at all reading. If I can Flash my bios and get this update, maybe, I'll be able to get then some of the other things go. Here are some tips from the event viewer if anyone has any time for her. $ 1 million for any help thanks! If anyone knows where I can find a site that can digitize to my existing configuration and then recommend the installed updates. Oh, just in case anyone is wondering why I do not pay just for a few servieces for help me, or take it to a computer store, I don't have a job and can not afford it. Believe me. I have many errors saying: the embedded controller (EC) has failed in the specified time-out period. This may indicate that there is an error in the EC hardware or firmware or BIOS is accessing the EC incorrectly. You should check with the manufacturer of your computer for an updated BIOS. Ok..

    The first task manager...

Open it and then click the CPU tab until the processes that use most of time processor are grouped at the top of the list.

The system idle process should be at the top and then maybe three points below that seem to take the time to processort.

Make a note of them and then look on the Internet that each fact or the program, application or process to which they are linked.

Forget the event viewer and any reference to it in the BIOS...

All the * running in the background will not cause it's running more hot so the fan. BUT, you can have installed something knowingly or perhaps inadvertently causing the CPU work all the time. Reference to what I said about the Task Manager. This is where you will find the cause most likely.

Fact MS Fix - its for what exactly?

Use of registry cleaners will create more problems than they ever solve. You may well have created one of the issues by running a registry cleaner. Uninstall them as best as POSSIBLE...

Three viruses different scans? Without doubt completely uninstalled before the installation and execution of another? In addition, what av scanners?

Many downloads of 32 and 64 bits, what?

Your computer may take a long time to stop if an open e-mail program is defined on control too frequently, or if a backup utility is configured to check the differences between system and backup is too frequent. In addition, some gadgets can slow down to stop, and USB keys will cause Windows to ensure that there is no process to read/write that run to them before she stops them.

Flashing the BIOS is not and has never been the panacea for all the ills of the computer and won't solve ANYTHING in your case.

If you have upgraded from Vista...

Go to the Dell support site and downlaod driver and install any Windows 7 drivers for your machine other than BIOS. If you enter your number of service on this site...

    http://support.Dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=CA&CS=cadhs1&l=en&s=DHS

you will be presented only with the specific drivers for your machine.

This should eliminate the errors of the EC.

  • Something of VERY causing slow stop

A month or two ago, I noticed that my computer (Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit) has started taking an abnormally long time to stop. When I click on the "Stop" button, my desktop icons disappear quickly, and the words "Disconnection" appear for about 1 or 2 seconds before moving on to 'Stop'... that's when the long closure period begins. The start is always very fast... the problem occurs only during the closing process. I guess it is most likely a program I installed but I could be wrong, and if it's a program, unfortunately, I had downloaded several programs at the time wherever I realized that the slow close so I can't isolate the possible culprit.

Prior to this announcement, I turned off my pc and timed the process... when the words "Disconnection" positioned on "shutting down", I started the clock... it took 4 minutes and 5 seconds to turn it off completely.

Does anyone know how I can determine what program (or other problem) is the cause? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hello

    Please contact the Microsoft community

Installation of Windows Update essentially coming while the system is going to stop

Could you please update this has been fixed for the automatic update of windows. Change the setting for "" download the update, but let me choose when to install"" in by going to the windows update Control Panel control and click on change settings

chances are it's something (part 3) that you have installed which is the cause.

If you re - install, but add the same back programs he will return.

You can re-install and then reinstall a thing at a time until the problem starts again, that way you will know what is the cause.

    Try this also

Step 1: disconnect any external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc...)  Except the keyboard and mouse and then start.

If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue.  Then get any drivers\software update for the device.

Step 2: put the computer to boot is a way to understand the problem causing program

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

  • Portege R600-13Z - Toshiba utility SMS - slow / stop when the SIM is in!

    Hello

    Portege R600-13Z running XP Pro.

Recently updated the firmware and the Wireless Manager to try to get 3g / GPRS comms to work at all. Updated worked a treat and have now great comms.

Utility of SMS does not work too well if. Very, very slow or crashes.

Wierdness: out the SIM card to use the phone to send a few texts and with the SIM on SMS utility works very well (!) starts, allows composition, everything except the real /sending/ of the text, which is of course not possible because the SIM card is somewhere else.

Anyone encountered this problem, and is there a solution?

    Thank you very much

    Evan

    > took out the SIM card to use the phone to send a few texts and with the card SIM SMS utility works great
If you noticed delays in using DMD utility only with the inserted SIM card?

Hmm I m not very well why this happens, but I know it s not recommended to insert the SIM card if the system is already running.
You must shut down the laptop, must insert the SIM card and then you should power the device in place.
Then you could test this once more.

  • XP slow stop

A month ago (~ 1 Oct/10) I noticed that my computer takes about 5 minutes to stop or restart. Startup is normal. When I stopped, the "closing Windows" message remains for about 5 minutes.

I also noticed that the fast user switching does not work even if it is enabled.

I checked the system event log, and whenever I start, the following error message is recorded:

"The system boot or boot start drivers following could not load: TermDD".

I ran a newspaper start-up that has saved several entries from:

    "No not load driver\systemroot\system32\drivers\termdd.sys.

Also, Deputy Manager of devices, a terminal server keyboard driver and the driver terminal server mouse have yellow exclamation points.

I am running XP Home SP3 with updates.

I've done analyses of malware with multiple programs and nothing comes up. All other functions seem normal.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit (5-7minutes) extremely slow stop.

Even with starting clean and all, but Microsoft services and start open with the exception of Kaspersky antivirus.  Does anyone know what whether I can do to fix this?

    Hiya Hula_Baloo!
Thanks for the quick response.   I was diggin through this question for weeks.  I did all the settings of 'base' watch/settings I could think in normal maintenance standards.  I've been excavatin' a microsoft tech support site and found a tweak for the registry values.  I made the mistake of registry cleaners and others in the past, and am guilty of system mechanic pro but this problem started there before all these changes.  I found that my problem seems to be solved with this step.

Take a look at the following registry location
    -Click on the Start button
-in the search box, type in regedit.exe
-right click on regedit.exe, select '' run as administraor. ''
-in the main menu click the submenu "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE."
-Click on the submenu 'System '.
-Click on the submenu for 'CurrentControlSet '.
-Click on the submenu 'control '.
-Click on the submenu for "Session Manager".
    -Click on "memory management".
-a screen should appear to the right
    -Right-click on the "ClearPageFileAtShutdown".
-Click on edit and in the value of the data if it is set to 1 to 0

It seemed to work for but now I would like to know if anyone out there can explain exactly what I changed and why.  Thank you

  • Windows 7 64 bit extremely slow stop and start

I have a problem with my computer all the reboot process takes about 17 minutes. I thought it might be a problem with HARD drive, so I bought ssd for the OS and and a HARD disk at 7200 RPM for the rest. But the problem is still there any suggestions? And my system is not if badly, even if a bit old, it's windows custom pricing is 7.2.

There is no error message at all.

The problem came to be caused by devices that I joined to the computer and the printer or the card reader caused me trouble in the 5V (I was too happy I solved the problem that I have "no time" to see which one it is).  I have it might be useful someone to verify this as well before you start the long process of cleaning, removing programs, reinstalling windows and so on. Thank you for your time and assistance.

  • Qosmio F60 - stop slower and a blue screen with driver out of State

    Hello
I've only had the F60 for a few weeks and although it worked well for 2 weeks, 2 days has been a disaster. First AutoCAD crashes during startup and does not at all.
So, my Outlook 2007 do not meet 1 / 3 times.
Finally, whenever I stop, this is a very slow stop (10-20 minutes) and then blue screens, restarts and says that it is a driver fault status.

Help - what someone else had these problems?

You'll be lucky if someone else uses the same software as you and you can check this.
My personal opinion is that all of the problems described are certainly software related issues.

We do not know how you set up your laptop, what modules are preinstalled, software that runs in the background and all other important info is not easy to discuss these issues.

I'm sure that you do not have these problems on the first day, right?

I know you hate me now, but maybe you should back up all your important data and install the OS to help original Toshiba recovery image. After having this software to remove all the preinstalled you do not need (additional Toshiba stuff) and continue with the installation of Microsoft Office. Check the functionality and continue to install your favorite step by step software and watch carefully what happens.

Also disable automatic Windows Update and change this option to check for updates but let me choose... option. So, you will have full control over updates.

I HAVE DEFRAGED MY PC AND ALSO OPTIMIZED MY MSCONFIG STARTUP ITEMS AND EVEN THE BIOS UPDATE.
THE RESULT IS EXTREMELY FASTER WHEN I CONNECT AND ACTUALLY UNDER WINDOWS BUT THE SAME OLD VERY SLOW STOP AND START TO WHAT I DO.

THE WINDOWS BAR GOING ALONG AT LEAST 15 - 20 TIMES TO HELP START!

    Hello

Maybe you've connected to some external devices to slow down the start-up procedure. You can also try to disable all the hardware components you n t need (modem. IrDA). Also check out which device is defined in a first start time (I hope that the HARD drive).

For slow closing is responsible only running processes that should be forced disconnected. It all depends on your own configuration and you are using external devices.

  • How to repair windows XP slow farm process?

When I stopped my system, it must be at least 5 minutes to stop down...

During the shutdown of the Windows XP computer, it may take longer time to complete the shutdown process. Slow stops are caused a lot of factors. Clear pagefile at shutdown option enabled is the common cause.

    Use the Group Policy Editor

Click Start, run and type in "Secpol.msc".
Click local policies | Security options
In the right pane, set stop: clear the pagefile of virtual memory for people with reduced mobility

However, this setting is not the only cause of slow closures. No relevant programs and Services also contribute to slow closures.

If the problem is seen recently after installing a driver software or third-party, try a system restore to see if that solves the problem of the slow stop.

you want to say thanks for the effort for me.

I tried to use SG but ultimately got to him first by effect of LumetricColors. almost the same speed category, layout different, no follow-up, but I need this job done.

On the use of the RAM, I colored in first, with all of the scopes running direct with no frame drop on a montage of 4 k with layers of settings, tons of audio layers and NEAT video. I don't have half of the use of the memory of SG. Really weird because they use the same structure. Only, I don't know if they use the same bit rate.

In any case, I did my job.

But I still have hope I'll use SG someday.
