Slow thumbnails

My Prelude project includes hundreds of files m2ts video.  Whenever prelude starts it slowly recreates thumbnails requiring about 3-5 seconds each; a long time for the overall project.  (There is a computer available for prelude quad-core, 3.2 GHz, with 12 GB of RAM).   Photos for subitems in tubs do not load until the tray is open.  Once the thumbnails are loaded, the operation is fast. Is it possible to get the prelude to "remember" thumbnails, so that he doesn't have to recalculate each time?  I tried different settings nothing works Cache location.

Hi David,

Sorry for the problem. Yes, I can see that it takes a long time to create thumbnails with a large project (a large number of files).

I will discuss the matter with my team and we will certainly look into it.

On the thumbnails for the subitems in the bins, there is no parameter as such to hold the thumbnails. I feel that prelude creates thumbnails quickly in subsequent uses.

    IM using xp sp3, im having a video folder contains more number of videos in different format. I've no problems with the display of the video files in thumbnail only until last week, but now if I open the folder thumbnails are showing is not for videos, except one or two files also loading very slow thumbnails and when trying to close the file, the system for a while and an empty office block will appear without display of the icons on the desktop. After 1 minute, everything comes to normal. It happened everytime I open this folder. Please solve the problem.

    Thanks in advance...

    No guarantee... but by running the following command can help...

    Reach... Start / run...

    In the box run... type or copy/paste...

    regsvr32 shmedia.dll

    (Yes, there is a space between 2 and s)

    Press on... Come in...

    You should see a dialog box stating:

  • not all the thumbnails load on slow sites

    Here is a slow loading site:
    http://www.elbisemodelleri.com/HM-2011-YAZ-bikini-Mayo-Plaj-Koleksiyonu.html

    If I have NoScript or Adblock Plus enabled, then some of the thumbnails will not display. (This happens on many slow sites, not just this one).

    If it was just an extension, I blame this extension. But allowing only one of the two causes the same behavior. This started happening when I upgraded from a previous version of Firefox (sorry I don't remember version) for Firefox 11. Then I upgraded to 12, always the same question.

    Are all network.http prefs on the topic: config page have the default (i.e. are not "BOLD", set of users)?

  • Why thumbnails slow to load when I discover bins?

    I have asked this before, but still did not get a response.

    When I'm in the icon display, vignettes / poster frames / icons are very slow to load. I can't find a setting to change the quality or mobilize more RAM for this task, or whatever. It allows to work in 2015 CC PP frustrating.

    Of course, I'm on a Dell XPS 13 laptop, Core i7 and graphics card Intel HD card (4500?).

    If there is no solution, and the problem is in my material, fine. The next question is: if I have to buy a new system for editing, what particular requirement would speed up the loading of thumbnails? Is it RAM, processor, graphics card? I don't want to buy a system with "bonds minimum" only to find that it does not load the thumbnails quickly or runs slowly in general.

    I don't want to buy a system that is an exaggeration just to solve a problem.

    Thanks for any help!

    Make sure that your cache files have been deleted. Otherwise, it may be material. My feeling is to have more of an internal drive (HDD or SSD), a fast processor and lots of RAM depending on the type of media you will deal with. Graphics NVIDIA is preferred with at least 2 GB of VRAM (my minimum, no anyhone else). A fast properly cooled CPU and RAM to at least 32 GB. My configuration:

    CPU: 5960 x, water-cooled

    Video: GTX 980 Ti

    RAM: DDR4, 64 GB.

    Discs: 4 internal + SSD for the system. (Many suggest using SSDS for all readers.)

    Ensure the computer is dedicated to publishing only.

  • Slow scrolling of thumbnails

    Hi all

    I put together one of those great hidden miniature panels scrolling by working with a tutorial. I want to slow it down a little, someone could suggest how it's done. Here is the code:

    panel.onRollOver = panelOver;

    function panelOver() {}
    this.onEnterFrame = scrollPanel;
    delete this.onRollOver;
    }

    var b = stroke.getBounds (_root);

    function scrollPanel() {}
    If (_xmouse < b.xMin | _xmouse > b.xMax | _ymouse < b.yMin | _ymouse > b.yMax) {}
    this.onRollOver = panelOver;
    delete this.onEnterFrame;
    }

    If (panel._y > = 60) {}
    Panel._y = 60;
    }

    If (panel._y < = - 1000) {}
    Panel._y = - 1000;
    }

    var xdist = _ymouse - 250;

    Panel._y = Math.round (-xdist/7);
    }

    Thank you.

    Darren.

    > panel._y += Math.round (-xdist/7);

    I would like to start here, by dividing by a number greater than 7.

  • Satellite A300-1MV slow slow start-up and ongoing execution place

    I recently bought a Satellite A300-1 mV it runs vista,.
    I have the trial running Mcafee and other preinstalled software that came on the phone. My problem is that the startup of the computer seems to take a ridiculous amount of time to start, once past the ORB of vista, that it says please wait which lasts about a minute until the password request is displayed.

    I had a quick glance in the problemreports in the Panel and concluded that the program of toshiba tempro was hung up at startup so disabled but doesn't seem to have any effect, I also find that when for example you double-click a photo thumbnail to view it, it takes about 30 seconds to appear on the fullscreen allthough, the window appears on the start menu to the low allmost bar immediately.

    I defragmented the hard drive, scandisk, memory checking, virus check etc... I compared it to a friends laptop dell which has less memory, but the same processor spec and vista and that seems to work 10 times faster... any ideas?, I wonder if it is a program of toshiba at the origin of the problem.

    However, I have a problem with acrobat reader from opening on its own and telling me it can't read the file (do not know what file)

    I uninstalled it and reinstalled but still have the same question...! Help!

  • Can I manually set the maximum size of the thumbnail cache?

    I notice that in a folder with a large number of photos, there seems to be a limit to how much stored thumnails. If I quickly scroll the I get to a point where I have to slow down and wait for the thumnails to regenerate. I wish I could store all thums so I can go to any point in the subdirectory and see them with no delay (the whole point of a cache). I have 4 GB of RAM so I don't care if it uses a fair bit to do this. Y at - it a key option or the configuration of the registry to set the maximum size? I have Vista Home Premium x 64.

    Hello old giza,.

    Thank you for your response back!

    Except there is no way to increase the size for the thumbnail cache.  You are able to clear the cache and I saw on third party internet providers that offer this possibility.  But the operating system is not an option to increase.
    Maybe if you can give more details about what you're trying to do we can get to the best situation.  Please let us know status.  Thank you!

  • Is there a way to disable the thumbnails in all except a few folders cache?

    Hello

    I am a certified technician A + and I have a question about the caching of thumbnails.  For reference, I read this thread and others like it.

    In order to avoid that the Explorer snaps records I want to change, I need to disable the caching of thumbnails in most of my files.  I already know how to do this.

    Question: Can I activate the thumbnail view in some cases? (NOT the folder 'types' such as video.  I mean just one folder.)

    This will enable Thumbnail caching throughout the Explorer so that I get a "file in use" errors in non-feuillete folders?

    FYI: I also do not put the taskbar thumbnail cache.  If the style of my theme doesn't have to make a difference... I hope.  For my clients who have slow computers, as I am normally to the themes of base anyway.  I also do not allow most programs create thumbnails for the taskbar (like Firefox).  I would like to know if there are other areas, I've not thought.

    Thanks for your help.

    Caching of thumbnails taskbar is a cache of the video card Aero (desktop window manager) and unrelated to the thumbnail of the file in terms of production and storage.

    But no, you can't activate the cache of thumbnails only in a specific folder, only in the ranges you already mentioned.  There is no just the feature to follow him on this level.

    Even with all the complete default values, you should not get a lock.  No matter how well-written program should quit the amendment is requested by using opportunistic to get out of the way locks when an application you use to do something with a file or a folder. But not all programs are also well written we would like.  Again I'd be curious to know what program you are using getting locked.  Thumbnails should not be able to cause this in Windows 7 and later versions.

  • How to recover the SIGNAL of CANADA pension thumbnail()

    Hello

    The bb:Application class has the thumbnail() SIGNAL that I would use for my application of Cascades. Since I was a project of GUI based stunts, I use the bb::cascades:Application to create the application.

    The reference to the API for bb:Application says:

    void TestObject::onThumbnail() {
        // Do something here
    }

    int main(int argc, char **argv) {
        bb::Application app(argc, argv);
        TestObject testObject;

        QObject::connect(&app, SIGNAL( thumbnail() ), &testObject, SLOT( onThumbnail() ));
    }

    How can I call the CPP SIGNAL when I use the bb::cascades:Application istead of bb::Application?

    -Dishooom

    BB::Cascades:application extends bb::Application if I'm not wrong and it would be exactly the same way as above. Of course onThumbnail must be defined as a slow and needs to be a qobject testObject

  • Sharing network of Windows 7 64-bit problem: other machines may very well write, but the readings are extremely slow.

    I tried to access to the shared both directory a Vista and XP machine via cable connections and wireless to my Win 7 64 bit machine on the part and it is extremely slow to read, but not written.  Not only the directory never takes show all thumbnails, and then open a file that is a couple mb in size as a photo takes more than a minute.  However, if I try to write the same file sharing, it takes only 5 seconds.  This fine all worked until I went from the version release candidate for the final version a few weeks ago.  Shared directories exist on another partition for the relocation does not have their effect.

    Maybe it helps diagnose the problem... I just make a copy of a picture of 4 MB on the part of win 7 on my win xp desktop and it took about 1 minute.  I renamed the file on my desktop and tried to write to the share and it took 5 seconds .  Now, it's strange.  So, this is the bed that would take forever.  The Scriptures are fine, which also explains why my nightly backups on the part of win7 are very good.

    I have a machine to hit the share by using the name of the computer and the other using the ip address.  Both show the same problem...

    I also tried to access files using a mapped network drive.

    I can take a 4 MB file and just copy it on my local desktop and it takes about a full minute.  However, written the same file or even another file of the same size as the part only takes about 5 seconds.

    I ran the Windows 7 network troublshooter last night and used the troubleshooter for incoming connections and he says that it found a problem but that he could not fix and he really had nothing to help me.  But I think he sent the information in Microsoft... not sure.  Next time, I'm at home, I'll run again and try to put all the gross results that I could not understand in this thread.

    I've also updated my driver for the network card and redone permissions and actions several times.  The only thing that I can also say that something can highlight, it is that when I was using the RC of windows 7, I don't have this problem at all.  It was my first installation of Windows 7.  I reinstalled from the final version and all of these files already exist on another partition on the same drive.  I just had to move my public and directories user space on the D: partition and share everything.  Maybe the new facility with something on the existing structures of the file works well with the new facility of the former?  But this does not explain why a new directory and file that create displays the same behavior.  I'm thinking out loud a bit to see if it helps that anyone think that anything...

    I thought about it!

    At least for me, it was a setting in the Advanced tab of the network adapter.  I have a Realtek Gigabit network card and one of the places must have been missed incorrectly.

    I changed the 2 following settings to "disabled", and he immediately started working very well.

    Disabled IPv4 Checksum Offload
    People with disabilities large send Offload (IPv4)

    I have a suspicion that among recent updates of Microsoft for this driver he missed bad... but it was this or the latest driver from Realtek.

    Update:

    In other research I have narrowed it down to make it just the Large Send Offload value.  Is located on "activated" whenever I update the driver Realtek to the latest version.  If I then go and set it to "Disabled", everything works fine.

  • Software Photo of Smartphones blackBerry is too slow - I'm sorry

    I'm sad to say this, but the photo on my BB software was slowing down.

    I've tried everything.  I tried to use the list, the miniature eight method, vignette seven, the miniature of six, the five thumbnail, the thumbnail of four and three miniature scroll settings, but the regeneration time was too slow.  It was painful to watch the little poor BlackBerry suffer with a 350 small images file (12KB to 40 KB each) regenerate so slowly.  You can scroll to the bottom of the file and forget about BlackBerry and regenerate photo after photo, when you scroll to the top of the file.

    This isn't worth it for me.

    I searched best software for BB photo on the web and found nothing.  I spoke with a RIM tech support person and he confirmed my suspicions.  He has said, "he cannot not do it."  It cannot process large files fast.

    I asked the guy to RIM tech if I could change the size of the cache myself and he said no.  I asked if he could do something and he said no.

    I'm not a technical genius, but I think that the size of the cache is the problem because smaller files move well and efficiently.

    So I'm disappointed.

    I loved the BB, but it is a deal breaker for me.  I show a lot of pictures of the plant to my clients of landscape design, and I can't wait for the time between photos or files.

    Being a customer of AT & T saved however.  I could swap my telephone.

    I now have an iPhone and I'm totally happy and amazed at how fast the photo software is.  It's really impressive, more capable and more rapid.

    "BOLD" and the RIM BlackBerry needs a few adjustments here.

    In addition, the Office Synchronization Manager software is very disappointing.  It is aggravatingly slow to synchronize.  Why does it start from scratch every time?  Why doesn't it just look for what's new?  It shouldn't take five minutes to synchronize.  We are busy people, and we must go to our next appointment right after that we type in client info in our Office Outlook calendar.  We don't have time to wait five minutes while the BB takes five minutes for the new appointment info.

    Farewell... and think... I've been waiting since July 2008 for this thing finally get out.

    Hello and thanks for the post 'bifocals '.

    However, I'm not going to use the iPhone as a camera.  I'll use it as a phone/PDA that can show my clients any photo of plant that I've stored quickly (up to 3 500 images).

    The issue was speed.  The BlackBerry doesn't have in this regard.  The iPhone has excelled beyond expectations, because it is extremely fast.

    I have a nice Nikon SLR for photography and use Picasa too reduce the size of the images for the display of PDA.  So it wasn't the issue.

    Good luck to all!

  • Slow on 16 gb blackBerry smartphones

    I just bought a microSD 16 GB class 2 card and my 9700 is slow. 16 is too large or is it because of class 2? The decrease in performance is not worth the extra space compared to the 2 GB supplied with the phone.

    Thank you

    Thomas

    The media card and its size do not affect the performance of the device.

    That said, from start-up and commissioning, the device will scan the card support to index and create thumbnails of images, etc., but it is only at the start. To have a larger map WITH a lot of data on that could cause the device lagging behind a bit in the beginning, but not during normal operations.

  • If the files have a maximum capacity until it begins to slow downs?

    Preface:

    I store images in folders and subfolders. A lot of images. A lot of records. When I got a Pentium with Windows XP, I discovered that access to some of the files the image more great and seemed to take a while, on the contrary, it took a bit of paint all the thumbnails in the file, which slowed me down to select any thumbnail while waiting. It made me wonder if the files had a max capacity, so I divide each major issues in three small files and that delays ceased.

    Question:

    Fast forward to my new computer with Windows 7 and now has the same issues, the same images.  I have the same divided files than the files smaller, but now with my new i7 computer, I wonder if I can combine the contents of the file once again, for my comfort. Yes, I have experienced, but I prefer to ask here if there is a maximum file size, in terms of MB or GB? I have a 2 TB hard drive, btw.

    Now, don't laugh, but my 'big' files are only about 300 to 500 MB each, even when they have been grouped on my XP computer they probably were 600-900 MB each when they were slow to paint miniatures.

    If you say no worries to combine the files, I would like to ask if there is a limit of size of folder in Windows 7, so I can learn, but I'll also ask you what do you think was my limiting factor on my old XP system that caused the downturn? Lack of RAM?

    Thank you.

    There is no "maximum" as such, the performance reduction depends on a great many factors.  If you have a slow processor, slow HDD or a graphics card that does not work well in Windows then files will always make more slowly with a large number of files in them.  They will make more quickly with a faster hard drive, faster or greater processor graphics card - but more files will always slower files less will be just because of the overhead involved in showing that a lot of files.

  • 3 related issues: slow movement; the photos are all from the first image; and no sound from the soundtrack to the DVD downloaded.

    I put a DVD in my computer. It plays fine in Windows Media Player. When I transfer to Windows Movie Maker Live, three things happen: 1) the thumbnails are all the same - the first image. (2) the movement is slow. I tried it accelerates, but it is simply not the movement in real time - either too slow or too fast. (3) the soundtrack plays for a fraction of a second.

    What is the problem and how to fix it?

    I converted DVD to WMV format. This fixes the movement of the image and I can hear the music (not quite synchronized), however the thumbnails are still just the first image. In addition, every single feature that I blow (editing, effects, forwards, etc.) the picture freezes and yet the soundtrack plays again.

    ===================================
    It is normal that video to be the first image thumbs.

    Since it was a DVD... I guess it's a big project
    and the gel could be due to a lack of system resources.
    If you wait it can dissipate.

    Some video converters are better than others... Freemake
    maybe worth a try.

    It is also possible that your video driver may need an update.

  • Mobile Sync slow or blocked on Lightroom CC 2015.5.1

    After that last LR CC Office Update mobile sync is incredibly slow.  I had at least 1 photo (currently 6) 'stuck' in harmony for weeks, but it seems to never end.  Impossible to find exactly which photo it is or I would simply he remove it from the library. Called support Adobe and thought that they fixed (after almost an hour on the phone) by removing finally the sync.lrdata file, but never finished re-synchronization. For what it's worth, my iPhone and iPad LR mobile customers seem to complete sync very well... desktop is the only one that is stuck.

    I found a few guilty by doing a Visual search through 2500 + photos in sync, looking for the symbol «...» ». Simply, I removed these images and imported back to LR. But have not been able to find the last few images stuck using this method.

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    I found some synchronization problems as what I was able to solve of the following way:

    1. use your web browser to go to lightroom.adobe.com - make sure that you are connected to your Adobe ID

    2. look in your photos and see if any have a completely black thumbnail.

    3. delete these photos in the web interface.

    4 go back to LR on the desktop and synchronization. Synchronization must complete.

    5. open LR Mobile on your mobile device again and let it sync if necessary.

    Repeat as needed until all the photos are properly synchronized.
