My lap top is a little slow to start (Windows 7)
I wonder if I can reduce the number of boot process to speed things up a bit. My machine boots OK and I get my desktop fairly quickly, but I have the little blue circle for a minute or two (I've not timed exactly).
In my Startup tab, I have the following processes running at startup...
Delay Launcher (Intel)
3 x commands UI Intel Comm
IDT Audio of PC
Alps Pointing Device Driver
Logitech setpoint
Intel USB Monitor
All this can I? Anywhere else I should look for process past at Start Up? Thank you.
Most, but not all tasks run at startup can be disabled without ill effects. However, moving forward with caution because some are certainly needed for Windows 7 to run. Autoruns is the place to do it.

My office is behaving strangely, slow, sometimes does not start Windows.
* Original title: strange
OK, so I have a desktop with Windows 7 installed above as my users families. My family tends to put viruses or other forms of malware on the desktop as they constantly plugging their friends drive etc. Last week my office just behaved strangely, running slow, sometimes not start Windows and even run checkdisk on each reboot. I have however to discover the reason for all these questions, because it turns out having a Trojan horse installed on the desktop computer that allows a hacker to access my PC remotely. AVG detects whenever I had scanned my office but unfortunately the Trojan horse is just renamed and removed to another place when detected. Last week I did a new install of Windows 7 and everything worked fine until yesterday. I noticed that AVG was not updated yesterday. I first tried to install what AVG but was unable even to reinstall AVG. I didn't realize that once I have turn off the Windows Firewall I can install and update AVG without a problem. However the firewall Windows has not prevented never AVG update or install in the past. I thought it was a form of malware, the origin of this problem, but after the start of the HBCD and scan with malwarebytes and also to scan using Kaspersky rescue disk. I have not found a malicious software. Even my windows laptop 8 I have no problems updating and installing AVG, while Windows Firewall is enabled. I really believe that it's some form of malware with managed to bypass all virus scans. Please give me some advice and let me know what is the problem and the solution. Thanks in advance
It has been long since I had no faith on average. :-)
Use the removal of AVG on this link tool to completely remove AVG, following the installation of Microsoft Security Essentials here ...
In addition, pull it out of Windows 8 and leave Windows Defender to take over. You will have less problems you get with AVG. There is no need to install MSE in Windows 8, as it's already there...

How can I "fix" windows media player which is slow to start verrry
When I click on WMP, the frame will appear immediately, but takes a long time to open.
Hello
Welcome to the Microsoft Community and forums thanks for posting the question. According to the description, Windows Media Player is very slow when starting. We will analyze and identify the cause of the problem.
1. is this confined problem only with Windows Media Player?
2. are you aware of changes to the computer before the show?
Method 1:
You can run the Windows media player settings Troubleshooter and check if that helps.
See the link below to run the troubleshooter.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-settings-Troubleshooter
Method 2:
We clear the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:
Step 1:
1. exit Windows Media Player.
2. click on start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
3. Select all the files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.
Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
4 restart the Windows Media Player.
Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.
Step 2:
If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files.
To do this, follow these steps:
1. exit Windows Media Player .
2. click on Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then click on OK.3. Select the Media Player folder, and then click delete on the file menu.
4 restart Windows Media Player.
Provide more information about the issue so that we can help you. Hope this information helps.

I suspect that you would get a more complete answer on the Technet site, which is for IT's Pro. This site is for consumers, and it is the level of skills more common here.
This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

Slow start Windows 7, Office 10
My computer is really very slow to start. I have read & wanted all of "too many programs running at startup" - and I décliqués all those I can 'say' do not need to run - BUT there are one number of others that I don't know if they are important or not - so I do not have the décliqués... I have 3 questions
1 is there a list that says - only WORK ' programmes ' in the beginning upward?
2 d icons / shortcuts on desktop etc make too slow? (i.e. should I delete a lot of shortcuts?)
3. not having programs pinned to the taskbar the brand down low it slow as well?
I tried the automatic correction of mircosoft - and he says - NO PROBLEM... (but of course, there is a problem!) I have also defragmented, used CCleaner, delete temporary files and hisotry & cookies and not even looked at the "systems" thingy (with graphs etc to see the use of the CPU (?) etc-, BUT I don't really know what I want to...)
Is there a 'service' where I could pay someone to access my computer remotely to look around and see what is the problem?
How slow is slow?
It is not a list, programs and services that auto execution is specific to your system.
It has always been a problem?
Icons/shortcuts will not cause a problem
What anti virus program do you use? Have you installed the other maintenance utilities? (apartment of CCleaner)
If you clean your PC boot how to run it then?

Satellite L750 slow to load windows
Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite L750/L755, and I had some problems starting windows after you use the tool/toshiba recovery disk
So, this is what happened:
I reached the maximum capacity on the C: drive, so I started data transfer to D: drive that was too slow, so I cancelled, it is when the computer froze and I had to stop it manually.
I could not turn it back on so I used the "toshiba recovery" tool to make it back on, it worked; the problem is that the computer toke half forever to complete loading of windows, so I reused the "toshiba recovery tool" and ended the same. I also tried to run a repair of the registry, check the volume errors, nothing seems to work.
I welcome any help
Thank you
Hello
I understand this correctly? Notepad starts very slowly. Right?
From my own experience, a lot of different process begins when the laptop starts.
You can check the msconfig-> Startup tabIn many cases, these are Toshiba processes that control the characteristics of different laptops and multimedia keys, FN keys, energy ECO-mode, etc.
Also antivirus software slowing down the boot process.
What antivirus software do you use?I use the avast! and the Avira antivir software. Both can be downloaded for free.
I have remove the Symantec Norton Antivirus software preinstalled, because it needs a lot of resources and slow down my laptop extremely. -
Slow to start, the spinning wheel of death and typing delayed.
Hello! Lately my MBPR 15 inch, early 2013, responds slowly. I currently have El Capitan 10.11.3 installed. The start-up took longer when I had installed Yosemite. After I login, Finder become spinning wheel for at least 10 seconds while it is slow to respond and asks to load time has increased. Randomly when I type, as I am now typing, he rowed for a short period of time, then becomes the spinning wheel.

Slow down your Windows XP computer
I know that Windows 7 has the "Ready Boost" function, but my computer is Windows XP, so it doesn't have this feature. How I would improve the slowness of my Windows XP computer?
I know that Windows 7 has the "Ready Boost" function, but my computer is Windows XP, so it doesn't have this feature. How I would improve the slowness of my Windows XP computer?
Edition with Service Pack of Windows XP _ _?
System specs like processor manufacturer, the speed and number of cores; memory/memory RAM of the system; Device video/graphic card and if he has his own memory or sharing system memory; total amount and free hard drive space?
Use Belarc Advisor (it is a link to download it, install it and get a report) to get some of this information.
What antivirus application do you use? (If you say that McAfee or Norton anything - you could help your speed by changing those - more information once you answer the questions.)
What maintenance do you?
May want to browse this list (and all the steps as stated in the order given).
Search for malware:
Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:
Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)
Search online with eSet Online Scanner. Delete everything is found.
The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:
Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in. Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.) You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.
You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory. This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.
Learned things that start when you turn on the computer and what you really need? Cut of those that you don't need? Seen what is really using the resources on your computer? Now that you have narrowed down to what is running at any given time...
Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:
You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:
Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 15 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

How to use disk cleanup
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310312You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...
When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:
-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file. You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...
1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
2. click on the System Restore tab.
3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
5. click on OK. Then click OK again. You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...
Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...
-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
-Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
-Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer. You can use an application that scans your system for the log files and temporary files and use it to get rid of those who:

XP with service pack 3 is very slow to start and very slugish
I checked to see if there is any race in the Task Manager CPU running at 1-3% and nothing seems to be running
Left click on startr > all programs, it takes 1-2 minutes to load
I think that my problem started with the addition of AVG 2012 updates
I run malewarebytes and cleaned the suspects
The system works well in networks of safe mode
For any help or suggestion will be appreciated
AVG has been known occasionally to pipes. You can configure it to run more lean. If no joy, plan to run Avira free Antivirus in its place:
http://www.Avira.com/en/Avira-free-antivirusIf you decide to remove AVG, it will be important to run AVG Remover, too:Since it is more a question of AVG only a matter of Windows XP, if you want to keep AVG, you'll have better luck posting on the forum of users AVG: -
When I tried to start windows normally it ran to 0 seconds, but nothing happened, pressed enter but screen will not change.
Without knowing anything about your computer and its recent history, I would like firstly, make sure the material is healthy.
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Hardware_Tshoot
In the meantime, a good troubleshooting step is to boot with a Live Linux CD. I like Knoppix, but there are others. This has two advantages: 1) if the system works, you can back up all the data that missed your last backup; and (2) with the machine running Linux allows to determine whether the problems are caused by software or hardware. If the machine is unbearably slow and/or Linux cannot run correctly, you know that the hardware is at fault. If the machine behaves perfectly under Linux, you know that the software (Windows) is at fault.
If the material is solid, you can then try a repair installation. Unfortunately for you, a disc of the operating system is required for this. Maybe you can borrow one that corresponds to the version you have installed or...
If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad).

Computer has been slow to start, Blue Screen of Death appears and then it restarts.
Original title: Restart the computer
Hello
My old Compaq desktop computer has been slow to start in the morning and recently when I went to turn it on, it got stuck on the boot sequence, and it restarts just after the initial start-up. He never Windows logo or the login screen. I tried to use recovery disks of Lenovo's laptop of my husband as an attempt to get something to work on, but nothing helps, my computer continues to restart loop way. My daughter has tried to do something with the BIOS setting, which did not affect the issue. Rather than restart suddenly, the blue screen of death appears and then it restarts.
Any help?
Hello
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD (sale at retail or OEM integrators), which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

See you soon.

Help, please! Installing Windows Interrupted!
Hi recently my computer was giving me a bit of concern for example (running slow, do not easily light etc...). A couple of days, my computer has decided not to put on after a glance on the net (on my other computer), I found I had a problem call KSoD or black screen of death, therefore I went on youtube and made all the different things said youtubers can fix this how ever none of these things worked, so finally I decided that I would have factory reset my computer/windows to using the system restore. However, at half way through the installation of windows after the factory reset (my computer came with no disk Windows), my computer has decided to remove what I believe to be called a blue screen of death, that this happened before and I thought it was part of the installation but when I turned my computer on he showed at the bios screen , but then it said 'unable to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To solve the problem: 1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer. 2. choose your language settings, and then click Next. "3 click on repair your computer ' all this is very well apart from the fact that I do not have the windows installation disc. I'm stuck at this screeni however have a disc of windows 7 and that he was going to install windows7 after I got my vista Setup! but the only I see is the bio screen so I was wondering if there was some way I could install windows 7 from the bios or simply delete the entire half installed this error files windows vista from the bios screen? Please, any help is greatly appreciated. Or get a new internal HDD would fix the problem aswell?Hello
